Friendly bartenders, good drinks at a good price and small cover charge. It’s a great place to let loose with your friends! I go all the time and always have fun and never stop dancing!

This guy just charged me 4 times(2 times for 2 people) for the entrance because HE failed to give me a wristband. I would have given this place a good review, honestly. The inside is cleanly and awesome, but the man at the entrance needs to keep better track of the people he lets in. Sir, you’re awful. Gth. It’s not about the money. Eight bucks means absolutely nothing to me. I gave that as a tip to the bartender inside. It’s about the principle. This man called me a liar, and insulted me. Sir, you need an easier job, because you’re not good at counting. Sincerely, –California Person #1 of the night and Nevada Person #1 of the night.

They refuse to give you a glass of water, no matter what drinks you have ordered, no matter how much money you have spent there, they refuse to give you a glass of water. They only sell bottles of water, tiny bottles for 2 dollars. The front of the place is a giant smoke cauldron because the employees refuse to enforce the law that says that you are supposed to smoke 25 feet away from the entrance to the building, and people are constantly smoking in the archway to the doors to the building. The dance area is tiny. There is literally no room to dance. The sound system on dance nights is halfway decent, but on karaōke nights it sounds like a cheap home stereo with a $ 20 mic.

Tacoma’s gay nightlife has atrophied to the point where this is the only real gay bar in town. Which is sad, because it’s a dump. That said, the drinks are strong, the pool table’s cheap, and it’s easy to get to. And it’s not like you’ve got anywhere else to go. There’s a light rail stop across the street. It’s in the middle of Antique Row, do there’s fun stuff all around. It’s cheap. The bartenders have a delightfully snide attitude, the manager wears a t-shirt claiming that he doesn’t need any more friends. The karaōke guy’s nice. The customers are of every conceivable variety. The jukebox has good music. It’s about as Tacoma as it gets.

Cheap drinks and the staff were very polite. BUT… This place was empty on a Friday night at 8−9pm. Maybe I am used to Seattle where there is activity all day and night. Does anyone know of a lesbian club or tavern in Tacoma that actually has people in it? Im not into dating but socializing when Im driving thru the area.

Don’t go here unless you’re really desperate for gay nightlife, or lack thereof.

Now & Then, a good night out is a must. Being a Tacoma resident, it’s great not having to travel all the way to Capitol Hill for a gay bar/club! Although Club Silverstone is not one of my favorites, it a great place to grab a drink with friends & do a little dancing. The bartenders are friendly and quick, and… theres two bars! so you won’t expect to be waiting too long for your drinks. This clubs acts as a sports bar, karaōke, and a dance club all in one so if you really just feel like chilling there plenty of bar seats. In all honesty, the Tacoma scene is extremely different from the Seattle scene, here you are able to meet friendlier people(not that Seattle is unfriendly) but if you’ve had your share of Capital Hill you’d know exactly what I mean. I’d recommend this place as a weeknight chill /lets grab a drink after work /meet with some friends for a game of pool /not much of a lets get drunk, bar hop, and party it all up kind of place. On the downside, and you know there is always a downside to everything… It can get extremely hot(not hot and sweaty like sexy) but ventalation is bad, wouldn’t recommend anything but a thin shirt or a tank. Of the few times i’ve been there, the music always seem so top 40’s, I mean who plays«Wrecking Ball» right after«Pinks– Get This Party Started»? a little odd, and maybe throw in a slow song towards last call as if it were a high school. To wrap it up, of course is come back. Great drinks, conveniently close to home, cheap cover(usually weekends) friendly staff!

Cover charge? Really? Lame bar, lame music. Maybe just the out-of-towner view but they should rethink business model of cover charge for this hole in the wall.

A little gem in Tacoma. Dancing. Pool. Food. Drinks. Karaōke. And an awesome staff. Lets not forget the $ 2 cover. Friday and Saturday nights get pretty busy around the usual 12am magic hour: #GetDown #WhatAmIDoing #WoahNelly. If you’re looking to get your sassy on, you can join the other tenors on a Sunday, Wednesday or Thursday(no cover) and get your singing voice on.

*LETMEPREFACEMYREVIEWWITHTHIS: THEONLYREASON I’M GIVINGONESTARISBECAUSE I CAN’T POSTWITHNOSTARS!* Out and about enjoying beautiful DT Tacoma today and decided to stop at Club Silverstone for lunch and a drink, as I had heard positive reviews about the place. I liked the vibe immediately. Though the décor is tacky and dated, it was comfortable and inviting. Someone was celebrating a birthday and the energy permeated the place, as if we were all celebrating together. Ordered a few drinks and chicken strips. I can honestly say in my 41 years of life, I’ve never felt as if a server was throwing my food at me! The bartender was so rude and abrupt it literally felt like not only was my food thrown at me but that I was putting him out by ordering food. We weren’t offered silverware or napkins, and upon requesting condiments our server/bartender appeared put out by the request. There is only one word for how we were treated: RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! How unfortunate.

I got the drinks I ordered and they were industrial strength. No one stared at me or bothered me, which is nice. On the other hand it’s just a bar. I don’t get the feeling when I’m there that I’m going to be part of any excitement, or that the room has been recently swept. There’s nothing particularly special about it. A good place to sit with a friend and have a few drinks, that’s about it.

I’ve been to my share of gay bars, never had a bad time. This spot was different but fun. The cover was only $ 2. I like the seperate«chill» lounge area and another area witht he dance floor as well as an additional bar. The music wasnt what I like but I made the best of it and got my boogie on ha ha ha… IDK if you can call it dancing but it was fun. I would come back if my friends wanted too. Staff was really friendly as well.

I think what I am missing here is the big town weirdness that you get in gay bars. This place was alright. It was hopping and crowded! It seemed more like your small town or college town gay bar which is ok but it was missing a quirkiness. They have a dance floor but it is small and it is easy for it to get overcrowded on a Saturday which might push you back into the main bar room. I love to people watch at gay bars but it just was not the right place. I guess you have to go to Seattle for that. Still it seems to be the best gay bar in town but I have only been to two out of the three here. Two dollar cover on Saturdays. Not sure on Fridays.

I wrote a review of The Mix, it certainly wouldn’t be complete without a review of Club Silverstone as well. The Mix and Silverstone are truly the only two gay bars/clubs in the downtown Tacoma area and it is a bit perplexing considering how strongly LGBT supportive this town is… perhaps being LGBT in Tacoma is so mainstream and progressive enough that it really does not need a gayborhood and is just embedded within the fabric of the progressive community. Nevertheless, Silverstone is a nice haven for the LGBT Tacomans and their straight allies and friends to enjoy. Yes it really is a bit divey and I gave a tip one night that it reminds me of Fusions in Waikiki(for those who have gayventured Honolulu and know what I’m talking about), but I guess that is the charm of it all. Granted it really is no Seattle but it does have the vibe of The Cuff. Unlike the pretentiousness of some gay cities a la Miami, NYC, LA, Silverstone is a nice escape from that. And I say this as a positive rather than a criticism, Silverstone is like the Glee cast to the gay world… this is where you’ll see the faces and hearts of the true real gay community and not the glamorized adonis that pop culture is so obsessed with. Granted there’s that occasional super hot sexy nerd lol So whether gay straight or trans, if you plan on going to Silverstone, leave the attitude and drama and pretentiousness at the door, and if you are going to be a diva, just remember as Lady Gaga says… don’t be a drag, just be a queen! Be divey, be tacky, be fab, and just be yourself…

The atmosphere can be a little sketchy but its the only club in Tacoma that I’ve found that dosnt take itself in such a way as to try to be a Seattle club(Masa for example apparently thinks that a $ 10 cover is justifiable in Tacoma). On a different note, beer can be pretty cheap at 6 or so dollars a pitcher.
