History

Established in 2010.

Natalie Durflinger was President of the Gonzaga University chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union while she was in law school. After graduating with honors, she gained valuable criminal defense experience with the Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel.

In 2010, Natalie and James «Jim» Oliver formed the partnership Durflinger & Oliver. Jim was an experienced criminal defense trial attorney with a background in insurance defense and plaintiffs’ personal injury law. Their business took off and the partners hired their first associate and changed the company name to Durflinger Oliver & Associates.

The firm now has five attorneys and a great support staff and has been recognized by the National Association of Legal Staff as the Pierce County Law Firm of the year in 2012 and 2013.

Meet the Business Owner

James O.

Business Owner

Jim graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz before graduating from the Seattle University School of Law in 1998. In law school he was employed by the Pierce County District Court as a mediator. He mediated hundreds of cases ranging from automobile accidents to business and contract issues.

After law school Jim worked for Davies Pearson, PC in Tacoma, Washington before hanging out his own shingle in 2002. His current practice focuses on Criminal Defense and Personal Injury. Jim has represented injured clients in matters ranging from simple car accidents to complex torts with settlements in the six-​figures range. He has tried cases from misdemeanors to Attempted Murder.
