First Response Garage Door

Don’t bother with these rip off artists. We later round they charged us 2x the going rate for everything. We found this out b/​c the guy who fixed the door said we also would need a new opener shortly and would call back in a week.
Never heard back so called another company, they told us our opener was fine… and that First Response had sold us the wrong size springs… the combined rate of the springs installed was 83.6 — when it should have been between 92 and 96 — this is why the opener was closing hard. (they tried to get around this by overtighening the springs… which is probably how the installed got the cut on his face during the install). We called First Response with this info and they wanted to charge us a trip fee to come back out and we extremely rude.
So, long story short, we paid another company to install the right size springs and the door and opener now work fine.

We had a damaged door panel. The gentleman (Ben) that performed the panel repair and replacement was, in one word, great. He was a true professional.
The issue here is that we were quoted for panel replacement and paint. We’ve called at least twice a week after a month had passed. It has been over two months and the panel has not been painted.
The bottom line is they failed to fulfill their end of the contract. I’ve never experienced any business run this way. How do you continue to cheat people?

Terrible company. They quoted me $ 150 then when I received my bill it was $ 800 and they when they left the garage light ended up not working. When I called back to say it wasn’t working they said the whole circuit board needed to be changed. My son ended up fixing the garage light by plugging the light in. They had unplugged it and wanted to come to rip me off even more. Stay away from this company!!! I would rate this company with no stars!

OMG, these people are terrible! They threaten violence after unsuccessfully trying to collect payment a few hours after the repair. And I am not even the person that ordered the repair but a person to help opening the door. I am now scared for my safety!!!

0 Stars! I can’t believe they are still in business! They started a garage door replacement back in April and it is still not completed. They sold me a door that is too small for the space and gave me a solution as to adding trim. The doors constantly screech because the bolts were not properly tightened, which could become a safety hazard. They hardly answer their phone and when they do they out and out lie about someone coming out and fixing the problem they created. They don’t care about you, the project or their reputation. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!

This is my second rating for these ripoffs. I contacted my bank when I found out that they invoiced me 10X what the technician had told me. Someone from their company refunded me the difference and now someone else is threatening me with collections.
On their webpage they state that they are members of the Master Builders Association and the International Door Association… BOTH lies.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!
I just checked with the Washington State Department of Licensing and found the company UBI (Unified Business Index) then checked with the Department of Revenue and this business is CLOSED.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are listed in several different ads on the web and use all of these phone numbers 206−915−6225, 425−247−8953, 253−448−9417.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!! RUN AWAY!
I would give them zero stars if I could. The technician told my husband it would cost about $ 500 to repair and replace the garage door openers for each of our 3 garage doors. I also asked for a quote when he recommended we replace all 3 garage door openers. He told me it was $ 550 per door. When I told him that sounded like a lot he said he could give us a 10% AAA discount. I then told him to go ahead.
We were expecting to pay $ 1500 for the work. I was presented with a «Work Order» after all the work was finished for $ 3900. HE also had initialed the spot on the work order where it indicated we understood the total cost of work would be $ 3900. Obviously we were supposed to have seen and initialed that before any work was done. instead he initialed IT!!!
I could go on, but you get the picture. Check out their BBB F rating and the complaints there if you need more reasons NOT to use this company.

My experience with First Response and their technician Sean was quality work, quick response, and affordable prices. He evaluated the issue and gave a clear explanation of both the process and product choice prior to repairing the broken torsion springs on our garage door. The end pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes and their initial that I had received.

If I was able to rate this disgusting company no stars, that definitely is what I would have done. Be cautious as they are total frauds. They have shady people they send to your house to do half a** work. They don’t care if their people don’t do the job right as one of the people I spoke to on the phone mentioned they have new people all of the time working there.
It’s truly sad that they take advantage of families that don’t know what’s right or wrong work as we try and trust people to do the right thing.

Shawn was professional. He diagnosed and explained the problem with my garage door (s). First time I hired him, was to replace a garage motor that had died. I liked the work he did to hire him back again for servicing and replacing parts for my second garage door assembly. I would hire him again.

This company is terrible, doesn’t honor written quotes, and will try and upsell you and lie about work that needs to be done. Their numbers are (253)448−8953, (425)247−8953, (206)915−6225.

The Better Business Bureau gave this company an F rating on a scale of A+ to F. «14 complaints filed against business» and «Failure to have a required competency license» are among the reasons for the low rating.

I highly recommend you get a quote from this business before authorizing any work. I had a bracket on my garage door that needed to be replaced (the bracket that attaches the automatic garage door opener to the door). Thinking it was a relatively straightforward repair, I did not get an estimate for the work. After the technician completed the work (it took him 30 min), he presented the bill: $ 580. Needless to say, I was quite taken aback by that price. I called the office the next day to question the line items on the bill. For example, the bill said $ 180 to replace the bracket. Yet there was a separate labor charge of $ 80 to «install parts». When asked if the $ 180 was just for the part itself (which I think is ridiculous for a very simple metal bracket), I was told that included labor as well. Then I asked why the separate charge for labor, if the $ 180 included labor? I did not receive an adequate explanation, just a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how their technicians are extremely experienced, the 20 year warranty they offer, yadda yadda yadda. They made additional «adjustments» and repairs to my door without getting my authorization first, and then charged me a couple of hundred dollars for the additional parts and labor. In addition, the person I talked to was arrogant, snippy and impatient. I think I paid way too much for this simple repair, and therefore I highly recommend you either go to another business, or you ask for an estimate first.
