Slow service, but it is a hole in the wall. I was very disappointed in the size of the tenders.

I’m still waiting on my food! But the service, music, and vibe is all I needed to confirm that this was a perfect choice! The sever offer me a cup of water and initiated a short friendly convo after I ordered my food. Fast forward– I order the wings, catfish, & hush puppies. ABSOLUTELYPHENOMENAL!!! A definite visit of you’re close to the area.

In love with the chicken wings!!! I’m a wing geek. and an east coast winger at that, and wings, not drumettes, or a good mix of the two. but i’ll always eat the wings first. I like them fat, crispy, and covered in a franks red hot or even better, homemade red hot, and Go Philly! delivers the good stuff!!! Best mom and pop shop in Tacoma! Yum!!!

I’m really torn about this place, because the food was delicious but the service was so off-putting that I don’t know if I will ever go back. I’m from Jersey and have tried lots of cheesesteaks since moving here and, by far, Go Philly has the best cheesesteak in the area. When I first walked into the restaurant, I was the only one, and«greeted» by a lady wearing sunglasses. Now I say«greeted» because she didn’t actually say anything to me, she never said hi, never asked for my order, nor did she respond to me when I greeted her and asked how she was, she just stood there and it made me feel beyond awkward. I ordered an original cheesesteak with cheese whiz and a Pepsi with no ice, again she didn’t say anything, just took an unusually long time pressing numbers into the calculator while I just stood there, regretting instantly that I didn’t get my order to-go. The only thing she said to me was the price. The food was quick, but like someone else said, I didn’t hear the famous«chop chop» that I’m used to hearing in authentic cheesesteak places, so I’m guessing it was all pre-cooked and they just beat it up. But regardless, the food was really good! The bread was perfect and I’m beyond happy they actually offer cheese whiz as an option. Another slightly strange thing was they charged me 80-something cents for a refill. I get that this is probably policy, although I saw no sign, and it wasn’t the worst thing that happened, but considering I asked for no ice and it was halfway filled with ice, I was the only person there, I tipped, and I only had a 20-dollar bill, I figured it wouldn’t really be an issue at all. The dining experience in general just left me feeling really weird and unwelcome, I wouldn’t personally go back just because of this.

Definitely a little indulgence type of place, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. Inside is small, but trendy and employees like to have a relationship with their customers. I had some chicken fingers and fries and they made them fresh just for me(it was a slow day, the day before Thanksgiving).

Marginal at best, would try other places first. The service was not great, the cashier was yelling back the kitchen, made the wrong sandwich. When the right sandwich came it was underwhelming.

I wish I could give these folks more stars! Unilocal really should look into a half button. I’d driven by Go Philly multiple times, each time reminded of the delicious Philly cheesesteaks I encountered on the east coast. As fate would have it, good ol’ groupon came through and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a delicious sandwich. To say I was shocked by the customer service is an understatement! So friendly and prompt! And not like the fake friendly and prompt that greets you from a Starbucks drive thru window. It was quite a pleasant surprise! The downside of the surprise was unfortunately the food:(I wanted so badly to like it. We ordered a couple philly sandwiches and I was convinced my life would be forever changed with one bite. Alas, my hopes were soon shattered as we did not find the sandwiches to be delicious.

*ATTENTION* Went to this place and the food was horrible, so horrible idk where to begin. I never give one stars(check my previous reviews) but this represents a warning to any going to spend their hard earned cash here. SAVEYOURMONEY, STAYAWAY! Here’s what I ordered: PHILLYCHEESESTEAK: I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with wiz(cheese sauce); first off the cheese wiz was under neath a bed of meat so I could see it nor taste it. Secondly the meat had a frozen flavor to it, when butting into it there was a lot of moisture so much that ran out the sandwich; kind of like it was frozen up until they put it on the grill. Now I’ve been to Philly multiple times so I’m no stranger to the yummy grease factor, but no this was was water. Nasty. The meat was unflavored even with onions, no taste. Just spongy bread, frozen meat, and cheese wiz that might not be properly prepared. Wings: Looked beautiful; like the kind of wings you get excited for upon sight. I ordered a buffalo sauce 10 piece which was $ 8 something; close to $ 10 after tax. NOTWORTHIT. The buffalo sauce had no flavor, their was a hint of red hots but I think that got negated in how much butter they were using. The sauce looked like it had pepper in it and that’s what seemed to be overpowering any other flavored in the sauce. Worst wings I’ve had in a long time. Fries: These were ok, there close to the McDonald’s fries(looks wise). Their your average frozen fries. They were warm when I received them, not hot. Onion Rings: The onion rings were fried to a crisp. Onion rings should not be fried that hard; you could seriously brake a tooth on how hard the onion rings were fried. The Rueben Sandwich: The Rueben had no flavor whatsoever. Additionally, sauerkraut had no flavor or tang; tasteless. All you could taste was 1000 island dressing which they put a very generous amount of on the sandwich. In conclusion; those items listed above along with two drinks cost me $ 42. The Latin lady working there was a bit rude and rushed us. The food was so horrendous that me and my mother didn’t even take our leftovers home. We threw away half a cheesesteak, half a Reuben, more then half of he onion rings, and half of the hot wings. I leave you with this; my mother who paid said that she would have been better off throwing her $ 42 out the window.

You can’t get much better than a philly cheese steak and cheese fries. My girlfriend and I each got a mushroom cheesesteak which was cooked to perfection, just the right amount of grease and onions. They also give you a ton of food. If you’re out on a date, split the sandwich and fries and you’ll still both be absolutely stuffed. We’ll definitely return.

After reading the reviews I thought we’d give it a shot. Well done! We didn’t even make it 2 miles down the road with our to go order before my husband scarfed down all of the hush puppies. I had the pleasure of getting just one and I completely understood. They had this sweet flavor not quite honey like but just amazing! The okra was killer too. For 2.75 you get a heck of a lot. Now for the cheesesteaks. Absolutely amazing! Full of flavor and real deal cheese wiz. Definitely go with the pepper cheesesteak. You won’t be disappointed. The gal working the counter was nice and even offered to holler at me when my order was ready so I could wait in the car with my dogs. We will definitely be back!

Service was friendly and food was good. I tried the Pepper Steak cheesesteak, and it was pretty good. The Chicken Tenders were nice and moist. And I tried both of their Natural Cut and Shoestring Fries, and I really liked both of them. It’s hard to find nice crisp fries, but I found them here.

You know you’re in a good authentic cheesesteak joint when you see that the have cheez whiz. Another good sign is seeing that green peppers is not automatically put on the sandwich. This place is truly authentic, right down to the exclusive Amoroso bread. My cheesesteak with grilled onions and cheez whiz was in point. Took me back to my days in Philly where I would literally inhale a greasy cheesesteak numerous times a week. Of you’re looking for a real Philly cheesesteak, you gotta Go Philly!

Awesome little hidden gem! The steak sandwiches and wonderful and juicy, filling and seasoned well. Service leaves something to be desired. But overall, interaction with the cashier is over quickly, so not a big deal. Prices are a little high, but we will still be back!

Gone here quite a few times. The food has always been great, our main problem has been with the service. They are never friendly and sometimes just seem annoyed with us. The last three times we have went they messed up my husbands order every time. This last time instead of giving him the pepperoni cheesesteak they gave him the one with hot pepper. My husband can’t eat hot food… He’s starting to really get annoyed about it, so not sure when we will be coming back anytime soon.

Very juicy and flavorful sandwich’s! 2nd time been here, first time had the Beef Cheesesteak this time went with the Chicken version. Both were real good and the service here was pretty good. For drinks, cant go wrong with the Strawberry Lemonade! Yum! Would most certainly recommend this place.
