Love that there is another great veggie place in Tacoma! Happy Belly is in a good downtown location situated just above the theater district. Lots of street parking available. This was our second time here and so glad to see they have really expanded heir menu. You can get soups, salads, sandwiches, bowls and more. Most options are vegetarian(yay!) but there are some meat options for the carnivores out there. They also offer fresh pressed juice and smoothies. Had the Banh Mi sandwich which came with a side salad and also had a fresh juice. The sandwich and drink were great… the salad was nice too however it was a cold salad(the Mediterranean) which isn’t my favorite, but that’s just a personal taste/preference. The service has always been very pleasant :) Definitely recommend.

What a bevy of fresh goodness!!! My whole family loves this great little place! It’s so nice to eat out with your children and not be worried about what they are going to order off of the menu. Here they could just drink one of the many super healthy smoothies for lunch and I would be okay with that. All of us always leave happy

Really disappointing when the hours say they are open until 7pm so I get my hopes up that I get a smoothie before work and they are closed when I get there at 6:30pm. Awesome smoothies. Just sucks to never know when they are actually going to be open.

Happy Belly is amazing! I usually stop by here with my boyfriend before work to get a bite to eat… I love how vegan friendly they are. If you are a vegan/vegetarian this is the place to be! The people who work here are so nice and friendly. They will always hook you up with something great! I remember I wanted something before work and made vegan… I was hooked up with the best pear and apple sandwich ever It was so good I had to order it again… Happy Belly is awesome!

My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. At the time there was only one lady working. She was very friendly and attentive. She was up front about the fact that they didn’t have some things available due to the fact that it was still early in the day(hot soups mostly). We ordered the smoked salmon sandwich and the cheesy turkey cranberry sandwich, both with the beet and feta salad. Both sandwiches were very good as was the beet salad. The atmosphere is relaxed, the lady working was very nice, and the food was good. We will be going back to try other menu items from them.

Been here a few times I would like to give them more stars but I find my visits here have been inconsistent. The first smoothie I got here was really good, however since then some have been bland. They have a lot of really good vegetarian and vegan options. They actually have very few things with meat which is a nice change compared to other places. Ther service here has also be inconsistent it has been friendly sometimes and other times not so much. I will definitely be back to try more stuff though.

The food there is well thought out, prepared with quality ingredients and attention to detail. The staff was extremely friendly, quick and caring. It’s a great quaint little spot in downtown Tacoma to meet a friend for lunch, or a smoothie. Great vegetarian options as well.

Amazing desserts, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies! They boast all these options: vegan, gluten free, paleo, you name it. Love their«snowy Raineer» chocolate bites… Dangerous little things. Even my «army”/meathead friends loved this place for the whey protein they stick in their shakes!

Had a soup, sandwich, and smoothie for a late lunch. The bread was divine, it was a simple sub roll– but it had great freshness and not a dry doughy block. The smoothie had a wonderful consistency, not soupy or chunky. The soup was hearty and satisfying.

DISAPPOINTED! I had just written them a great review this morning before heading of to lunch and now take it back. I went to Happy Belly at 11:55am ordered and received my order at 12:45pm. When I opened it the sauce from the sancwhich was EVERYWHERE. When I went in to let them know I had waited forever and that the sandwhich was messed up they offered to do nothing. I asked for my money back and the girl walked to the back came back handed me a $ 10 bill and said«here you go». Loved loved loved their food, but now I will not be returning. :( Earlier review… I’m loving Happy Belly. I’ve been now three times and each time the food has been great. It comes out fast and overall is a great place to go to lunch. My favorite meal is the Bahn Mi with the cashew quinoa salad. It’s delicious and refreshing! The first time I was there I asked what the most popular dish was and what the girl helping me’s favorite dish was and she just shrugged her shoulders at each question. I think the customer service is lacking a bit, but not enough to ruin my experience. I would definitely recommend Happy Belly to booth vegetarians and non-vegetarians!

This is definitely my new favorite lunch spot in Tacoma. Walking distance from the office, plentiful vegetarian options, friendly staff and locally owned, love it! I had the Florence sandwich(really delicious) and a something-monkey smoothie(tasted like dessert) and both were tasty, healthy and satisfying. My friend had the prosciutto sandwich with the beet salad and said both were fantastic. I was really happy to see the constant line at the counter at lunchtime — this place has got to stick around! Keep it up Happy Belly!

The gals at the counter took the time to suggest and make sure my smoothie was Whole30 compliant. Ended up getting the Green Machine smoothie with almond milk substituted for rice milk. Yum!

Great stop for lunch in Tacoma. They have smoothies, sandwiches and more. I had a sandwich with soup and was impressed. The price is just right, too! Not a ton of seating, but most people seemed to take out.

Let me begin by saying the food is fantastic. Jennifer was super nice, and even gave me a free cup of soup on my way out. I ordered the prosciutto sandwich, it’s to die for. The chutney is perfect, sweet to complement the saltiness of the prosciutto and the butter. The Parmesan was just right, this is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The décor is really great as well, I love this place. That said, I have to give a 3 star rating for this reason: I just can’t justify spending $ 8.76 for a 4″ sandwich. I love that Jennifer is working towards portion control, but the prices have to match. I’ll be back for the smoothies, but the price is just too high to pay for this myself.

Happy Belly was a place we recently heard of and is a new addition to the vegan food scene in Tacoma. Despite what the category says on the heading for the place on it’s Unilocal entry they do indeed serve food here as well. Steve and I went here and made a pretty good order! Steve got a sandwich which was good for the one taste I had of it. I got the tacos with pears, mushrooms and I believe black beans. It was a kind of taco I never had before and was very unusal. Despite the unusual combination the flavors did combine together quite nicely to make a very good dish! In addition to that Steve and I both got a cup of Red Pepper soup with Kale which was fantastic! The soup was fresh and had the right amount of heat and bite to make for a very memorable kind of meatless soup! Accompanied with that was a slice of garlic bread. To drink I had a very tasty Dirty Chai tea which was excellent! It had a perfect balance of sweetness and spice and maintained that balance the whole time. So much of the time the problem with chai is that it is either too sweet or too spicy. Personally I like the«too spicy» ones but since I have moved to the Pacific Northwest folks seem to know how to maintain this balance better than in other parts of the country and it adds a whole new experience all together. For dessert we had a kind of granola ball on a stick with a variety of things inside it, craisins being one of them and they too proved to be delicious. The lady that was there also gave us complimentary tasters of one of their juice drinks which included several ingredients including carrot and cayenne pepper. That drink in of itself might get me excited about drinking veggie and fruit smoothies! There was a large sign indicating that their food menu is going to expand in the very near future so it is exciting to see what other menu options will be offered here soon!
