Description

Specialties

We focus on giving peace of mind to clients and their families. Our goal is to help seniors age in place as long as it’s safely possible by assisting with things like meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, bathing assistance but maybe most importantly, companionship.

We know that practically everyone wants to stay in their own homes, even through illnesses. We work with medical staff to make sure that, not just the disease specific needs are being addressed, but that the personal issues of the unknown, fear, and aloneness are met with a trained home care aide that is handpicked for each client as a companion.

Working with an agency, versus a privately hired individual, allows the family to not have to be the employer. Home care agencies do the background checks, bond their employees, have insurance coverage for accidents or loss, have extra staff to show up on a sick day and pay the taxes. Again, peace of mind.

History

Established in 1996.

Locally owned and operated by Lois Etienne, an RN. Lois saw her grandmother care for her grandfather. Then her mother cared for not only her own mother but her mother-in-law, both of which lived into their 90’s. Lois had the privilege of caring for her own mother before her death. This is a very personal business.

Home Instead Senior Care makes a difference in people’s lives. We allow the daughter who has become a caregiver to mom, get to return to that ‘daughter’ role. We provide respite so that wife can just go to the back bedroom and get some sleep while we care for her husband with Alzheimer’s. We can be there 247 when the family can’t, so that mom won’t ever be alone. It makes a difference!

Home Instead Senior Care has been built upon a reputation of integrity. Call us for more information or visit our website.

Meet the Business Owner

Lois E.

Business Owner

Lois started out working as an aide in a nursing home when she was only 16. She joined the military where she became a lab tech. After that she became an RN and worked in an ICU for almost 10 years at a local hospital. Even though she loved her work, she had an entrepreneur’s heart. Home Instead Senior Care has allowed her to remain true to her passion of helping others while fulfilling that desire to own her own business.

Lois has used the success of Home Instead to ‘give back’ or ‘pay it forward’. Over the years, Lois’s organization has put two young people through college in Africa, has supported schooling for children in Haiti and Arizona, and assisted local women and children’s shelters. Most recently, she has started a non-profit called Aging With Excellence. Money is raised through numerous venues throughout the year and ALL proceeds are distributed to local low-income seniors during the holiday season.
