I had Ms. Hunter come and give estimates for trees in our HOA. She spent almost 3 hours walking my neighborhood in pouring rain and she inspected trees throughout the development. Ms. Hunter, a certified arborist, educated me on the different types of trees and proper pruning. She is professional and conservative. I felt that she wasn’t out to make a bunch of money, but rather to care for our oxygen producing trees. She even has a pamphlet that details proper trimming. I am so grateful for her time and willingness to share her knowledge. If I could give 6 stars I would!

I have had nothing short of exceptional customer service from Paula and her crew at Hunters tree service. This woman has been a staple in our community for the past 20 years and has a no nonsense approach to business that is greatly appreciated. I use her every year to have our maple pruned and she always shows up with a friendly smile and a pocket full of dog treats for our boxer rocky. I highly recommend this company.

Hunter Tree Service was the only local company that was willing or capable of doing work on our 100+ year old willow tree. After the major ice storm several years ago, our tree had severe damage. They are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated having a certified arborist to clean up the damage and make recommendations to insure that our willow continued to be healthy. We have had them out two more times to properly remove dead or damaged limbs and install a support rope system to reduce stress on large limb. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends.

These people are not arborist they are butchers. They were hired by my neighbor to take a couple of limbs off my fir tree that extended into her yard. We hung around home for a week waiting for them to show up, but they never came. So we went away for two days and they came while we were gone and turned our fir tree into a telephone pole. We had a beautiful 50 foot fir tree and they cut off every limb for 25 feet.

A neighbor recommended I contact Hunter Tree Service in Tacoma to get an estimate on pruning a tree. I contacted them about two weeks ago and was told they could have someone come out the next week. I was told I didn’t need to be home and that an estimate would be provided. A week after I called a black pickup truck drove up with 2 ladies in the truck. One got out and went to the side of my house. I looked at them from my front window and assumed they were from Hunter Tree Service. I was just leaving the house and they drove away within 2 minutes of arriving. Never came to the door and never left anything. I figured I would get a call or an estimate in the mail. More than a week later I still had not received a call or estimate in the mail. The neighbor who referred me asked if I had gotten an estimate yet. This is what prompted me to call Hunter Tree Service today. I called and said I had not received a call or estimate yet. I let the lady know I saw a truck show up, but it drove away shortly after arriving. The lady asked for my address and kept looking for the paperwork. Once she found it she said she was the one that came out and all they could do was snip branches on my neighbor’s side since the tree was improperly pruned and formed a canopy in our yard etc. I had to ask her to explain what she meant as she was using terms I didn’t understand. She stated she is an arborist and it would be malpractice to prune the tree. I tried to find out if the tree can still be pruned, but she would only state she could not do it. The tree was here when we bought the house and we have never pruned it so we were wanting a professional to do the work. The tree needs to be cut back, but rather than state she cannot do it as an arborist, she offered no solution what so ever. I tried to find out if she was saying the tree cannot be cut at all or just by her company, but she would not offer any help. When I asked why I never received an estimate as I was told I would get one, she said she didn’t leave an estimate since she wasn’t interested in the job! I told her she could have let me know when she was at my house or followed up with a call. I told her that she didn’t provide any customer service and her response was unprofessional. I also told her I couldn’t believe she treated customers like this and I would be sure to let my neighbor who referred me know how she treated me. She then hung up on me. I called back and asked who the owner is and she said she is. I told her I was the customer she just hung up on and she said she didn’t have to take my abuse and hung up again! I’m surprised to learn she is the owner and this is how she treats customers. I have already contacted my neighbor and shared how this local business owner handled herself. I will be sure to tell anyone needing these type of services to contact another business who appreciates their customers. I understand, only after I called, the job was not what she wanted to do, but there was a better way to handle the situation. This was my first time contacting a business like this and the owner displayed herself in an unprofessional way. It’s pretty sad she thinks nothing of her customers and thinks she can disregard a customer who they committed to providing an estimate to. I will never use this business again and will share my experience with everyone. No customer deserves this type of service!

The 1 star is a gift. I called for a quote. They said they’d get back to me in 2 days. It took 2 weeks. I called back, took return call 2 weeks again with a quote. Then, they showed up and told me quote was bad and they would call me for further information. They never returned call. I would NEVER refer them to anyone. They simply didnt care for my business. Shame on me for letting them string me along for a month.
