I previously wrote a review of Mr. Clark immediately following my court hearing. At the time, I was thoroughly disappointed with the representation that I received from him. Two days after my review, I received a notice of his withdrawal from my case. It is now six months later and I am so far beyond disappointed that I am compelled to tell the rest of my story so that no one else becomes a victim of this attorney. At my hearing, I was sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for one day served (booked at Kent on day of arraignment). Mr. Clark assured me this would not likely happen as I had a letter from my physician, stating that it would be detrimental to my health. I am 60 years old, have been on SSI disability for three years, suffer from bi-​polar depression, anxiety, panic attacks, high blood pressure and PTSD. My doctor asked me if he should elaborate on why this would be detrimental to my health and I was told by Mr. Clark that the letter will suffice, as is. After the hearing, Mr. Clark told my sister and my boyfriend that I would need to turn myself in at the Seattle jail and «the good thing» is that if I turn myself in before midnight; 10:30 or so, any time prior to midnight would be full day… so, if I go in at 10:30 pm; at midnight, that became one day and I would have to spend the next night and be released at 8:00 am the following morning. That is not true. I turned myself in at 9:50 pm on a Tuesday evening. I was released at 9:50 pm on Thursday evening…48 hours. Am I the only one who thinks the attorney representing you should know these things? During «intake», I began having panic attacks and was told they would monitor my blood pressure because they were unable to give me any medication until it had been verified by my doctor. The next morning, I was moved to, and remained until my release, in «solitary», the «psych ward», where the inmate is on camera and can be monitored. These are the cells where you get NOTHING (no blanket, no towel, no toilet paper), and the drinking fountain is recycled toilet water. Approximately three hours in, I received a pill for my blood pressure and approximately 45 minutes prior to my release, I received my depression medication. When the psych ward doctor visited me on the day I was to be released, he questioned why my time of release (9:50 pm) was so late, as they did not release inmates from the psych ward after 8:00 pm. He and a guard that I spoke to said that the worst case would be I’d have to stay another night and be released at 8:00 am the following morning. At that point, again… why did Mr. Clark not defend my medical condition and there is no excuse in this entire world for his lack of knowledge regarding the timing of turning myself in. My opinion is that he simply did not care.
Beginning in June, I started looking for non-​profit organizations where I could perform my 240 hours of community service. Again, I am 60 years old and have numerous restrictions as to what I can do due to my disabilities. I asked Mr. Clark about this on many occasions and was told the state will not reduce the hours. Now, I add the fact that I have a felony and find myself even more limited as to where I am able to finish these hours.
My opinion here is about the lack of empathy Mr. Clark had for me as his client. I do not disagree with my punishment and understand that I need to pay for my crime. I think that had Mr. Clark paid more attention to me and understood my situation, I would not be having the difficulties I have had and continue to have.

My wife and I hired Mr. Clark to assist our daughter with a DV/​assault case. I had never worked with a lawyer before and did not know what to expect. He was recommended by a local Bail Bondsman — that was some of the best advice I have received in years. While still maintaining the client/​attorney confidendiality, he kept my wife and I informed about the processes much as he could. We were in court twice and both times he was cleary the best lawyer in the room. His expertise, confidence and experience clearly shined. I almost felt sorry for some of the other people who had someone else representing them — the difference is the way he handled himself in court and worked with the judge was cleary evident. In the end, the charges were dismissed — and it is all thanks to Michael. Without him, this would not have happened. Absolutely worth the money. If I ever need an attorney in this area again, I already know the phone number to call.
