The portions are large and the flavor was great. Everyone loved the flavor. The bar b q was fun to watch. Our waitress was a little grumpy because not everyone ordered the bar b q. This should not matter because she is still being tipped on the total bill. Still, we would come again

Really cool place to go. Good food, I enjoyed the seahwk and my friend enjoyed the mariner. We both have eaten here before. It’s pricey, so avoid bringing kids if you can. I like the ambience. I came here alot before it was a sushi place, so it holds good vibes for me.

Great place for sushi. The price was perfect for what you get in terms of quality and quantity. I didnt get to try the grill items. One thing to note, this place is pretty loud. Their birthday song involves a drum they carry around…

Great dinning experience. The sushi was amazing, had the spicy tuna roles and the grilled shrimp. My family had the steak and was well worth it. Good service and good food at a good price. 4 people less then $ 100.

We enjoyed three rolls. The spicy tuna jalapeño chef special, the white Christmas roll and the mandolin roll. The spicy tuna was a bit hot for my daughter but all were great. The mandolin was hands down our favorite. The rolls are reasonably priced. We showed up just after four and had place to ourselves. The only reason I did not give it five stars was the price of the hibachi dish my wife got. She had the mandolin NY steak and chicken. It was $ 28.00 which seems steep. With that said the dish was excellent! The lady running the place visited us as we left to make sure we enjoyed our food. You have got to give this a try if you like hibachi or sushi.

It’s not good when you drive by this place every day to and from work. What happens is I buy lots of sushi. It also doesn’t help that it’s very good. The staff are very friendly and the service is great. This is a one of my favorite sushi places in the area I highly recommend it.

Nice décor, enjoyed the edamame that comes to every table. Heard good things about sushi(there is Japanese Steak House side of restaurant too. If you like California rolls this is place. Seriously at least ½ their rolls use it as a base. The sashimi was good however. All said would have been better experience but they sing for birthdays… Drum included. Not kidding– three times in 30 minutes on our Friday day night. Price is very affordable though. So much better options such as Fujiyama or Koi.

This is my favorite restaurant in Tacoma so far and I’ve been living here for a few months. The food was phenomenal and came in large portions. The food also just looked amazing and decadent with little garnishes. We were given soup as a complimentary appetizer. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind and genuine. It had a very comfortable atmosphere. All of the staff were beyond courteous and I had the impression they enjoyed being there. I am extremely impressed by this place, and the bill was very reasonable for how amazing the food and staff were. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back soon. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Let me start the review off by saying the lunch special is the cheapest I’ve paid for great food and full portions. $ 7 – 8 for full sized meals leaves the significant other and myself walking out the door with a $ 25 lunch that is delicious and filling. The atmosphere is always cozy. I’ve been here more than a few times. I’ve never actually used the hibachi side because I go there to get my sushi fix. I love getting the complimentary edamame and miso soup. The broth is great. Not too salty and not too filling. I always love free bread from places but my self control leaves me turning it into an entrée. So at this restaurant, the free soup and edamame is enough to tide my hunger over without filling me up. Let me also note that we decided on fried oysters for an appetizer. They were a great size and amazingly fresh. The sushi is always on point. Very fresh and well put together with amazing presentation. I’ve gotten the Mongolian beef once and that was also great, but I’m mainly focused on the sushi. Again, the price of this lunch specials in relation to the portions, along with the atmosphere is phenomenal. I will always come back here as a first choice for sushi

Well well well. I am pleasantly surprised! I a bit after the lunch rush so I could get more attention with my order. The place is huge! Nice décor and lighting with t.v.s on the far wall if you want to watch. The restaurant is split with the flattop service on one side and regular seating on the other. I was seated immediately where I chose and my order was taken Promptly. Today I had the Philadelphia Roll, Mariners Roll and 2 spring rolls. Holy cow! The rolls showed up on a large wooden boat that took up my whole area, cool but a bit cumbersome to eat off of. I had to ask for more Wasabi, I got about 1tbsp for 2 rolls. The Philadelphia Roll was good, 8pcs and had nice portions of smoked salmon throughout. The only downside was the amount of cream cheese, maybe a little bit too much. It was overpowering at times and cut out the other flavors. The Mariners roll was deep fried and delicious. They chose regular puffed rice to top it with, sort of reminded me of Rice Krispies. The roll was big though, 10pcs I think and fried well. All in all I really enjoyed lunch. I really want to come back and check out the grill service. I’m excited to experience it on a Friday or Saturday!

Met up with a friend here for lunch. The staff was very cordial and welcoming, and we were waited on promptly. I ordered the salmon and albacore sashimi, my friend ordered two sushi rolls. We were served some incredibly delicious miso soup(about the best I have tasted), and some edamame, which i passed on because I try to avoid too much soy. The sashimi plate was gorgeous! Beautifully plated with shredded daikon and a pretty pink flower. The fish was fresh and very tasty. My friend said her sushi was stellar as well. Very well done — will definitely be back! Looking forward to trying the teppanyaki menu.

Awesome service. My boyfriend and I showed up 45 minutes before close and they seated and served us with smiles on their faces and great attitudes. You don’t find that very often, and it really made the experience that much more enjoyable. Sushi was great. Hibachi was probably the most flavorful hibachi I’ve ever had. Overall great experience

Had an early dinner with hubby today getting two chef’s special smoked salmon crunch roll and the ninja roll. It was interestingly good but not my favorite. I still love the yummy yummy roll. I’m new to Washington so I’ve been trying different places to eat and so far the best sushi I’ve had that’s actually worth it in Tacoma. It’s not your simple eat all you can but the quality is just really good for its price. And if you think it can’t get any better? Wrong!!! They also have that tepanyaki thing that just blew me away with awesome tricks that will get you full and entertained. Don’t feel like dining in? Call them for pick up and it’ll be ready in 10 – 15 mins. Never had a bad experience with them, Only minor problem I’ve experienced was service from a new server. then again she’s new so I was more understanding on her being slow. But I hope they don’t ever do that again 1 new girl handling 5 – 6 tables by herself with not much menu knowledge can be a bit of a challenge, but as a server myself I noticed she handled it very well with her very best, not letting the rush discourage her. Anyways 5 star overall. Love the place and it’s worth a try!!! If you know a better sushi place than this, please message me!!! I’d love to try it out too. Thanks!!! I

The more you come to this place, the more stingy they become, and the less food you get per order… we used to come here everyday until we notice the casual changes in our amount of food… and now we can’t really fill our stomach per order anymore… I will keep this up to date until this has changed… *update* I now get about half the amount of food I used to get when I first came here

Went for dinner tonight with my husband and two small children. This was BYFAR our best dinner ever with kids. Hibachi is great with kids because the multi-course meal keeps them eating and entertained. We had the«Rainbow Tempura Roll» to share, which was delicious, very good quality fish. We also ordered the steak, chicken and kid’s chicken hibachi dinner. My 4-year-old’s dinner was exactly the same size as the adult’s portion, which completely surprised me(and provided a ton of leftovers). The food was great. Yes, hibachi is expensive, but you are paying for dinner and s show. My only complaint is that I felt rushed– to order, to eat and to leave, which is the only reason for four stars instead of five. During dinner, my son leaned over, hugged me, and said, «this is so cool, thank you for bringing me here mommy.» We will definitely be back!

I love ‘em sushi! This is where I had my first hibachi experience. The hibachi is a hit-or-miss. The very first time I experienced this place, the performance was very awesome and entertaining! The second time it was very boring with nothing but throwing broccoli for people to catch(terrible!) and had a lot delayed since the guy forgot a lot of his things needed in his cooking. The flavors were wonderful in both experiences. Nice, clean atmosphere, and is good for big groups and smaller groups. I love this place and would check out again if I’m in the area.

We came here last night based on the Unilocal reviews and decided to treat a friend out for his birthday. It wasn’t at a location that I had expected. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately and asked if we wanted a table or to sit at the hibachi side. The birthday boy chose hibachi. I had the house cabernet, a friend had Sapporo Japanese beer, and the birthday boy had sake. The sake was served hot. I’m not a big fan of sake but once I took a sip. OMG! It was delicious! We were started off with a salad. It had some sort of a peanutty dressing. We all didn’t have much of it as we knew there was more to come and didn’t want to fill up just yet. We were all given a tofu soup. That was also very good! In the meantime, we had ordered a mix of spicy tuna rolls with a mix of 6 other varying sushi. That too was delicious! Our chef comes out and immediately puts on a show. He makes a smiley face with the oil on the grill then lights it on fire. What a way to start off! He starts with making our fried rice then serves to each of us then goes to the veggies. The whole time putting up a show. I love how he juggles and balances a couple eggs on his spatula. I wish I can do that! So far I’m impressed with the flavor of the rice and the veggies. I ordered mahi mahi. My friend ordered chicken and steak and the birthday boy had shrimp and scallops. Wow! The shrimp were cooked to perfection! The seasoning was delicious! The scallops were also perfect had a nice buttery flavor to it. My mahi mahi was done nicely and was also delicious. The steak and chicken were the same as well. Soo scrumptious! Our chef made the evening quite enjoyable as well. He put on quite a show and had a great sense of humor! Too bad I didn’t get his name. Bummer! When dinner was done, they came out with a cheesecake that had a cute umbrella for décor and two strawberry pocky sticks leaning against it for the birthday boy. I loved the presentation! The staff came out and sang Happy Birthday in Japanese with drums and all and sang in English after. This is one of the best Japanese steakhouses I’ve been to in the area. The customer service is excellent. The staff is always on top of things. The food is very delicious! I would highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back!

Oh my goodness this place. If you are a sushi lover then this is the place you must try! They have some of the best tasting sushi I have had and their presentation is awesome! I ordered the Seahawks and Mariners roll and it came on a cute boat which I loved! The sushi is fresh and delicious, service is great and the waitress was friendly. Prices are reasonable and portions are big! I always come to this place when I am in the area!

First time here and it was a little weird. I wasn’t aware that you couldn’t be seated until your entire party has arrived but I guess I get it… after all, they have to accommodate others for the hibachi. Understandable, just wish I knew ahead of time. I didn’t order the hibachi — instead, I got the vegetable tempura and the chicken teriyaki. They came about a minute apart so it didn’t leave me much time to actually enjoy my appetizer. The chicken was cold but I couldn’t get a waitress to come over so I could tell her. Everyone else order the hibachi and it was a great show. The chef was funny and talented. I think I’d have to give this place another try and go for the food cooked in front of me, but until then, this review stands at a 3 star.
