Always a fantastic place to explore 20+ beer handles. Always have a great nitro stout … My fav along with anything else you could desire. Great hard cider selection too. Food is basic GOOD grub. You will enjoy the eclectic mix of hipsters, 40’s and 50′ all grooving on a energetic vibe.

Ever-​changing large selection of beers and simple bar snacks/​food. Outdoor patio in front is perfect for drinking w/​your dogs. Bar staff is sometimes easily overwhelmed so not always quick to acknowledge but that also means easygoing service once you get your order.
Customers are always friendly but for a neighborhood, there are always a lot of non-​locals stopping in before heading home afterwork or soaking up this local icon.

You have to check this terrific tavern out. You will not be disappointed and will appreciate the neighborhood feel and the very good beer selection. This tavern is 80 years old and just makes you feel like your home.

Served in a charming comfortable setting. The made to order cheeseburger was flavorful and fresh, the chili savory. Served by pleasant and responsive server and kitchen staff, I’ll gladly return.

Can’t comment on the food, but the Parkway is a great spot for a drink and some shuffleboard. It’s a comfortable atmosphere and the tap selection is impressive. I always enjoy coming here.

I love this place. Another great local spot. I really like that they only serve beer and wine It’s such a popular place if they served liquor it would change the whole atmosphere. Good service and bar food. It’s one of those perfect little places when on a snowy day you can walk to and sit in the back area by the fire. And on a Summer day you can sit outside.

Parkway has about the best tap list in the area — extensive. One or two other places have a few more taps, but lack any kind of pleasant feel.

The burgers are great. My husband defines the ambiance of reminding him of someone’s basement that had been turned into a rec-​room (not a compliment from him) but I like it. I’m not a big beer drinker so I can do with out the attitude from the bartenders when I order a diet coke.

This is a great place to meet up with friends and coworkers. With so many beers on tap our entire group was able to find that special something that pleased each of our different likes. Had the cheese steak and was quite pleased. The atmosphere and staff made you feel welcomed and we will be back.

I came here with a few friends. Had a mushroom burger with nachos. It was amazing !!!

This place was a hidden gem, very unexpected. I went here recently after a trip to Point Defiance and wanted to get a beer and some snacks and I found this place. Very cute from the outside and it’s got a nice outside seating area. Inside is very pub-​like and had an eclectic mix of people. I think the best part was our server, very nice guy and easy to talk to. He made the whole experience the best part. There were a bunch of beer choices and the food was good too! I will definitely be back when I am in Tacoma.

Hmmm where to start! This is truly an awesome neighbor hood bar and one that you will always enjoy a good conversation and great beer. My friends and I probably go every Friday night. In addition, I am part of the athletics staff at University of Puget Sound and we have little get togethers every Wednesday night. You could call us regulars I guess … haha … the staff know us all by name now and shows great service. One of the main reasons my friends and I continue to go back. The staff does a great job of making their rounds and making sure everyone is taken care. Its seriously amazing sometimes because the place is so packed you can hardly walk around.
As far as bar games go, the shuffleboard and pool table are always in use! No charge either. Although the pool table has its «home court» advantages, it is always good to have some friendly competition over a nice cold beer. The crazy amount of beers on tap make its a beer drinkers heaven!
What’s a hole in the wall bar without really good bar food! Everything I have had here has been amazing; never have I been disappointed! My favorite menu item is the Burger Dip! I love me a good burger dip! Unlike some places I have tried, the bun French roll is fluffy and soft! Doesn’t seem like you have to chew through a whole lot of break just to taste the beef. Speaking of the beef, they cook it perfectly (I like little pink) along with cheese and onions. My mouth is watering already!
So next time you are in old town Tacoma, Parkway Tavern is a must!

This is a true, neighborhood pub. It has, what the Japanese call, «wa». That means a sense of harmonic energy (how’s that, dude).
I visit once or twice a year when I am in Tacoma and always feel, from the minute I walk in the door, that I am «home». Just plain, friendly bar staff and customers. Visiting on a week end, neighbors from many blocks away come and go all day for a drink and conversation with their friends.
A few years ago, Esquire named the Parkway as one of the best neighborhood tav’s in the country. And for good reason. wa. Oh, and for a huge beer selection! ;-)

A very cool chill neighborhood tavern/​bar. Large selection of taps on hand. Great decorations of old taps on the ceiling. Had a hamburger and it was gigantic. Good overall but I’ve had better. Service was spot on. Back room area has some game activities, but I didn’t venture in there. Place fills up quickly on the weekends!
