One of the only reasons I am truly sad to be out of Tacoma is the distance of the Puget Sound Pet Pavilion. Several years ago, my cat Piglet got mysteriously ill on a Sunday night. My vet’s answering service referred me to PSPP, and they were able to see Pig right away. They diagnosed him with Fever of Unknown Origin(FUO), an ailment apparently common to cats. They had to put him on an IV and keep him overnight. I freaked out a little because I’d never had to leave him overnight anywhere before(he’s like a child, okay?) and started to cry. The on-duty nurse hugged me ANDCRIEDTOO because she understood how I felt! They encouraged me to visit him daily, which I did. Each time I’d show up they’d bring him into an exam room where I was able to spend time with him. After three days, he was all set and I took home a healthy Pig. I have also boarded my cats here with good results. If I ever have an after-hours quasi cat emergency that doesn’t require, like, within fifteen minute attention, I will actually drive back down to Tacoma for this place. They’re awesome.
