This location is the most convenient to get to from my house and is also my favorite. With the fuel station in the same parking lot and accessibility from both Portland Ave and 72nd St. I’m always able to get what I need and get out in a hurry. We have 3 in a 10 block radius and this one is the cleanest and has the friendlier staff.

Love this Safeway, only one out of 2 I come to, management and workers are very nice and easy to talk.

Been coming here for 20 years… This place struggles and has some good people but needs help. Empty shelves, liquor locked up and a ten minute wait for the person to come over make it obtain a low star rating.

Ive gone in here for some shopping and then to get fresh food from the deli. The sandwiches are great but its also dependent on who makes them that day. Some people know how to make them and others need assistance. Also what i call is a Mini Panda Express. I ordered the General Tso Chicken with Fried rice. The only thing that was annoying is when Store Employees come to order food and they forget their manners and how to wait in line. And Im the type of person to tell them and get a little mouthy as well. But i guess its typical Tacoma.

Everyone is friendly except for the customer service desk people! Cashiers, Stockers, Deli & Meat department are all really helpful. I wish they carried more organic produce! I often have to pull expired product off the shelves for them, which I don’t mind; but it’s nearly every visit that I find expired product which is way more often than any other safeway I’ve ever shopped at.

This is your typical Safeway. The parking lot is full of crazies, so you have been warned. Nothing great or awful about this place. On the smaller size but they’ve always had what I was looking for. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come to this Safeway but it is right across the street from where my Mom is in rehab for 6 weeks…

Not one of your better Safeways, the produce I looked at was horrible, so some«mold» on some the grapes and strawberries I looked at!(I always shake my head and wonder why some people just grab the produce and throw it in their carts without looking at them! I The checkers at this location also seem slow IMO, I think in regards to Safeways in Puyallup, if possible better option is to go to the one on Meridian, or either one on Canyon Road.

Bought groceries one time, came home and one of the glass bottles broke through the bag and shattered all over the ground and in my car. One would think with glass and crummy bags the bag person would have been more thoughtful. One time bought one of their buy 10 get 5 free, and the cashier forgot to ring my 15th item, so I had to take my stuff over to the customer service desk and the lady had to refund each bottle, and then ring them up all over again so that I could get the deal.

I hate this store. It’s so ghetto. I purposely go to the one on canyon that’s farther away. Always an abundance«undesirable» people there, long lines and questionable parking lot.

I go here because of the Wells Fargo. Wanted some coconut water so I went over to look for it. Found one with a coupon. Looked at the coupon and the size of the drink – didn’t match. Put it back. Then looked over and saw a stack of another brand. 2 for $ 3, sweet! Got to the register. Cashier tells me that it’s not on sale. I tell her that the sign said so. We walked back to learn that the tag was on the wrong size. I was willing to get the right size, but didn’t know where it was. The cashier gave me a store coupon and discounted my coconut water. I was happy.(Minus one star for not having the appropriate signs for the appropriate sales.) I must also mention that their produce section is beautifully organized. I had to let the produce lady know how beautiful it was.

Its in the hood! The staff suck. They’re busy talking to each other and not providing service at all! The selection just isn’t like the other safeway on 112th and Canyon Rd. I only stop at this one if I have to. There is a gas station and a Starbucks drive thru across the street though. With this location, I’m honestly worried about my car being vandalized or stolen.

The only reason I shop here is because it is the closest grocery to my house. It’s always open(24 hours) and 9 times out of 10 it is extremely crowded. Parking lot is cramped. It’s not in the best part of Tacoma so it doesn’t really look that great either. But in their defense, they don’t have a lot to work with. it’s a 50⁄50 chance they won’t have what I am looking for. They have been ‘sold out’ of spaghetti-os and meat balls for over a month now. And I just went there for diapers and the cheapest they had were 15.99 for a pack of 37. The 8.99 pack was ‘sold out’ or ‘coming soon’. They are usually always friendly and helpful — especially when it comes to WIC checks(those things are a PAIN) They are patient and will run back and get something off the shelf for you if you ask. They are sticky when it comes to coupons. usually have to get a manager to verify which involves some waiting — but apparently this is because there are lots of fakes going around. Any who, over all this store is okay — although the lack of products sometimes causes me to shop else ware, this is most likely to be my first stop.
