I have nothing but wonderful things to say about katelyn. She was super friendly and made mine and my sisters waxing experience as enjoyable as it could have been. She is really professional but talked with us and made us laugh. The sugar wax she used was really easy on my sensitive skin which I really appreciated. It’s not easy for me to find a product that doesn’t irritate my skin. She was really knowledgable of the products she used too and had really good recommendations.
The salon is so nicely decorated and clean. The owner has put in a lot of work and it really shows.
If you’re in the area and are looking for somewhere to get some waxing done I’d give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a gorgeous little salon conviently located
in the stadium district. Parking was easy enough right out front. Has a really classy feel to, high quality décor etc. Julian did my cut which turned out awesome. He really knows what he is doing, and payed attention to the details, cool guy too. This will be my go to place from now on!

I’ve been going here since they opened and have only great things to say! Julian does a fantastic job. I’ve since moved to the other side of Narrows bridge but still make the drive, well worth it!

Wonderful experience. Came in on a groupon to try it and will definitely be a return customer, finally found a place that knows what they’re doing. Highly recommend.

Jules did my 1^st balayage from a groupon I bought and it turned out red, it was actually cute… not the purple it was supposed to be, but there was no way she could change it, and it did turn out a pretty red. She put it on their fb page. 4 days later it turned a rust water color, so she had me come in to have it toned down. It was then a kind of choc cherry. She told me she would redo my balyage after I gave the toner some time. I needed to get my grey touched up too, so I had that done and she did a new balayage. It turned out good, its caramel with very few red pieces but my grey didn’t take and I called her the 1^st time, left a msg for her to call me back, that was Sat, Tue I called again told her my grey didn’t take… this is less than 2 weeks later and she said «it took when we did it» I told her, yes but it’s back now. She told me she was with a client and would call me back and I never heard from her again.

Horrible… Horrible! I bought a Groupon for a balayage, cut and style. This was 2 weeks before my wedding (yep learned the lesson NOT to try a new place before a special event!). Needless to say it’s pretty bad when family asks if you are getting your hair colored and cut before the wedding AFTER you had done it! I could not get into my hair colorist. So 2 days before my wedding I had to get 2 boxed highlighter kits to fix the worst balayage I’ve ever had in my life! I would have expected better skills than what I received! There was 6 – 8 inches from the top of my scalp until you could see the balayage begin. It looked like highlights had grown out and I needed another dye job! Disgusting!
Don’t get me started on the haircut! Will never recommend this place EVER!
I would give it negative 5 stars if I could!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this establishment and Julian!
I’m in the middle of packing up and moving out of Tacoma, and this morning I was in *desperate* need of a haircut (and a break). I called around 11:30 AM and the gal who picked up the phone graciously fit me in a few hours later with Julian. Upon coming in, I was greeted with big smiles and a lot of warmth by Julian and another woman at the front desk, and I was offered a beverage of choice. Julian took me back to his station and initiated a conversation about what I was looking for in a cut. He didn’t rush the process; we spent a good amount of time talking about what we were working with and the options (I’ve been rushed before in this process elsewhere only to have far less-​than-​satisfactory cuts). My hair was in disrepair and unkempt, and I felt pretty self-​conscious and embarrassed about it coming in. Julian made me feel completely comfortable and welcome, and we had a great conversation during the whole styling process — I found him very easy to talk with.
He truly took his time to make sure that his work was spot on, and with 20+ years of experience in the field, I can safely say that he’s a phenomenal hairdresser. The haircut is beautiful, and Julian told me to come back within a week if I found I wasn’t satisfied with the cut — free of charge. I left feeling completely relaxed, rejuvenated, and feeling lovely and confident with my new cut.
I’m very sensitive when it comes to customer service, and I give this place huge marks. The overall feel of Salon Peluche for me was warm, friendly, intimate, and very professional. The staff truly cares about your experience from start to finish — and that’s huge. I will definitely travel out of my way to return here for my next hair appointment!

Jules is such a great colorist. I love the fact that I was able to just show her a picture and she created the color I wanted. Moat colorist I’ve run across ask me what color it is and then show me their book of colors. I think it takes talent and initiative to figure it out for your client. She’ll definitely be my colorist as long as I live in this state. She’s also a great conversationalist which is a plus instead of sitting in dead silence.

Cashed in my Groupon for a balyage today with Jules and could not be happier. I was looking to darken my base and get ash blonde painted on. The Pravana color left my hair feeling soft and looking shiny! Jules educated me on how to style my hair with my new curling wand, and showed me which products to use without being pushy. The conversation flowed nicely and hot beverages were had. Check it out!

Balayage Service: I asked for ashy highlights and left with tons of ORANGE in my hair. I was also disappointed that they did not use Olaplex to protect my hair when bleaching — so now– my hair is fried and orange. I am now going to a different salon to have it fixed… about $ 250 dollars later my hair should look decent again.
I think it’s very unfortunate because I was looking for a permanent salon! They were very nice so I hope the best for them but not all of the stylists here know what they’re doing!

I had been searching for somewhere to get my hair done with someone who is trustworthy as I had stylists screw up my hair to the point I get antsy when someone comes near my head with shears. That being said I saw the reviews for the salon and decided to give it a shot about a month ago and it was a great experience. Jules is fantastic and knowledgeable. My hair still looks great, thank you!

I have had a haircut and several sugaring sessions here with Groupon/​Living Social offers. I have had a good experience every time with the services and all of the staff — everyone is friendly and helpful, minus the snobby vibe at some salons. I also love that is in a cool renovated Victorian house. I would definitely recommend the salon all around.

This is my go to salon. I’m not from around here and I’ve been using Unilocal to find a salon I like. I’m very picky when I come to my hair, because it’s super damage from frying it platinum blonde for so many years. I’ve been to 6 salons until I as able to find this salon with an amazing owner that works his magic to my overly fried hair. Love, love, loooooooove this beautiful space with awesome people.

During my recent visit, I knew I had to review Karena and this salon. I am a fairly recent transplant from Ca and I have now been to Karena twice after a series of expensive and just «OK» results. She is amazing. The color is perfection, one of the best colorist I have ever been to. She is efficient which is important to me because I hate spending 3 hours in a salon. Her time is your time and she gets you taken care of without feeling rushed or the worst, feeling like you’ve been forgotten. Thank you Karena and Salon Peluche.

Got a wax here and that chick really knows what she is doing. It had the be one of the most painless experiences of someone ripping the hair from my loins I have ever had. The place was very clean and everyone was very courteous. I would recommend.

I have finally found my new go-​to salon!
I needed a cut and color desperately but my hair has been so temperamental and damaged that I wanted to find someone that would take their time and really knew what they were doing. I found Salon Peluche through groupon and decided to check it out based on the reviews. Jules was AMAZING. She took her time, gave me wonderful recommendations and gave me the most fantastic color I have ever had. The time I spent at the salon flew by because she was so personable and sweet. I have already scheduled my next appointment because I know once word gets out she is going to be booked!

Karena is the best! I called for an appointment a day ahead and luckily I was able to book a haircut and color with Karena. I spent hours Unilocaling a good salon in Tacoma since I recently just moved here. I was scared and nervous to get my hair done with someone else other than my old hairdresser from home, but I had to do it since I won’t be able to go home for a while.
I went into the salon with a picture to show Karena what I wanted. My hair is black and I wanted something light, like subtle blonde. But I knew it was impossible to go from dark to blonde. Karena explained the process and what she will be doing to my hair. My hair didn’t turn out like the picture I presented, but I knew it wasn’t going to. BUT I am in love with my hair. Karena made sure that I could get the lightest my hair could handle. It doesn’t look painted, but more on the natural-​looking side. I am also in love with my haircut. I had grown out bangs and she trimmed it to frame my face and haircut. I will definitely go back in about a month or two to get it to a blonde color.
Overall experience was great. Karena is great! Another thing I love about her is her friendliness. She is interested in your life and getting to know you. I feel like I’ve known her forever because we shared so much about each other. I am so happy with the result and I found a new stylist in WA!

What can I say? Been going to this Salon for a little over a year now — it’s nestled in between businesses in a lovely Victorian style house in the Stadium District — the setting has as much character as the folks that work there ! We love KARENA — by far one of the BEST colourists out there ! My soon to be 14 year old will not let anyone else touch her hair !! The level of Customer Service is unmatched and we NEVER feel rushed or pushed through. I promise … One visit and you’ll never go anywhere else again !! Great place for a haircut.. color … massage … cup of tea … quaffe therapy — love chatting with everyone there ! Karena picks up on our lives exactly where we left off during our last appointment. She is truly amazing and makes us feel like we are the most important customers there. Do it !!! Call and make an appointment and tell Karena and Julian we said HI !!

Massage ONLY: I had a groupon massage for one hour treatment with scalp massage and hot towels.
Amber greeted me warmly from the beginning. She had a soothing voice and really was accommodating during my hour. She did not bother me at all during the massage. She worked out a lot of my kinks I had in my upper shoulders, back, and neck. This place is awesome in keeping their promise to giving you exactly an hour in their massage. I was not short handed even by a minute.
Make sure to tell her what kind of pressure you would like from the beginning.

Ok So I am really bad at being a girl. I never know how I want my hair cut, which means I have to put a LOT of faith in whoever I let cut it. I walked in sat in the chair and said do whatever you think will look good and BAM an hour later I had amazing hair. I don’t have to style it or anything, he gave me a true wash and wear cut. I would recommend this salon to any of my friends!
