Tacoma Pipe and Tobacco

I was there yesterday and asked if they had parts for my v hit type c vaporizer.
The owner says to me «You need to go to one of those stores where they don’t speak English .» I replied to that with «That sounds kinda bigoted.». His next statement was to deny he was a bigot while using the F bomb several times.
He was a very agitated bigot before I left.

A definite great selection and good stuff on tap for the growlers. Staff are helpful in making suggestions and also you can make your own 6 pack. Saw a special there for 2 hotdogs and a pitcher of pbr for 12 bucks. Loving this place!

They have 16 beers on tap and tons more bottles. Great atmosphere and staff. Can grab a hot dog, beer, and just hang out, then get beer to go. Love making my own 6 packs.

Smaller selection of bottles, great prices though. They have rotating taps for growler and will fill any growler you bring in. Great atmosphere and awesome employees!

Awesome little tap room with a man cave like beer selection. Juke box, check. 10 or so taps, check. Beer paraphernalia everywhere, and I mean everywhere, check. A cot for me to sleep on so I can be in this atmosphere forever? Nope, no such luck. This place is a good time, throw in good people and you’ve got a memory you smile at, every time it pops up.

Not impressed with this place. It’s in a not so great part of town and half of the shop is dedicated to selling marijuana pipes. When I asked the woman working inside if she had any Russian beers she looked lost and just looked all around and found nothing.
I wanted to try this place because it’s closer than 99 Bottles in Federal Way but from now on I will only go to 99 Bottles. The store is in a better location and the people there know their beer.
Make the drive to 99 Bottles instead of Tacoma Pipe & Tobacco.

In the last year, Tacoma Pipe & Tobacco AKA Tacoma World Beers has greatly expanded on the beer side of the business. It has six rotating taps, with a great selection of craft brews (including some you can’t get in bottles/​cans). They list what’s on tap at Taplister.
They serve on the premises and do weekly tasting days (Wednesday currently). Last my wife and I were here they had a live folk duo.
Randy, who runs the joint, has great taste in beer. I enjoy his selections and his random knowledge.

For many years South Tacoma Pipe & Tobacco has carried a wide variety of products for all of your tobacco (and other) smoking needs. When they decided to expand into beer sales they went all out– more than half the store was suddenly stocked with just about every import and microbrew you could think of.
Recently they have expanded again, this time moving all of the ‘pipe & tobacco’ products into a separate shop next door. This has created room for even more beer in the main shop, including a rotating selection of taps where you can get your growlers filled ($ 12) or have a pint while you shop ($ 5).
The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They can help you find the type of beer you’re looking for, recommend something new, or even special order some specific varieties that they don’t have in stock.
Prices here aren’t too bad– most of the beers are sold as singles and though you might be able to find certain bottles cheaper on sale at the grocery store, but they can’t compete with the variety here. I do think $ 5 for a pint is a bit excessive, especially considering that this is NOT a bar. Probably a better idea to ask for samples from the taps and then fill up a growler…

While in town visiting from Texas, I found this place on Unilocal and decided to stop by. This place is amazing, can’t believe it’s been hidden in plain sight and that I never stopped in here when I lived here! A HUGE selection of beers. Mostly sold single style, which I love for trying out new kinds. The staff was super friendly both times we went in and were able to answer any questions I have and they really know their beers! Me and my friends are now hooked and are regular customers.
Tobacco selection/​products were great too, truly a one stop shop for a fun weekend
Favorites so far– Mana Wheat, Boont Amber, Naughty Nelly and a juniper style black ale whose name is escaping my mind. My friend also bought a jasmine ale which was very tasty. There in something here for everyone.
Next time you want some beer and are near here, stop in and grab a few, you will not be disappointed!

We went here on a whim, knowing nothing about the place except that it had «World Beers» and was in Tacoma.
Since we are craft beer posers, all we could think to ask for was a crème brûlée beer that had been on the menu at Quinn’s in Capitol Hill. That particular beer was out of season, so a super-​knowledgeable employee pointed us toward several 650 ml bottles from the same brewery. I wouldn’t say this place was a PALACE of beer, but they had representatives from every beer nation — Belgium, Germany, Ireland, England, Japan, Italy, etc. etc. plus a wide selection from PNW brewers.
I’m going to keep looking for a place with this kind of selection in Seattle.

Holly Smokes, no pun intended, DAY-​UM they got a HUUUUGE (with a Y) selection of beers! Largest by far from anything I’ve seen around, and around. And if 420 is your thing, they have accessories for that as well.

Looking for *that one beer*? You know, that one that you’ve looked all over for and can’t find?
If it’s to be found anywhere, your best bet in Tacoma may just be Tacoma Pipe. A selection of local and domestic micros, Belgians, and beers from Ireland, the UK, Germany, Canada, Mexico, etc. are to be found here. Many six packs, but the best selection is among the single bottles. The smoke section has a stocked humidor, big jars of specialty tobaccos, and various pipes and related equipment if you’re into all that jazz. Staff was totally friendly, chill, knowledgeable, and unpretentious.

Not only can they assist you with your pipe or tobacco needs, they carry 600 types of imported and domestic beers!
Perfect for those who are looking for unique or hard-​to-​find local brews, like Port Townsend Brewing Co or Laughing Dog from Idaho. They also have imported beers from England, Germany, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand… anywhere you could possibly drink beer, they have at least a few selections to choose from.
It was a stroll through drunken travel memories for my fiancé and I. The staff was very helpful and had lots of suggestions for us. We will definitely be coming back, again and again, to stock up on our local and global favorites!
