Compared to any other dol places I’ve ever been too, the line was short but I forgot to bring my birth certificate! Went home 8 mins away and came back, the line was shortened. Got my ticket number and only had to wait 1 minute. Fast and the service was great!

I hate the DMV normally especially the one on Yakima Ave. They were closed so I came to this one. I will forever go out of my way to get to this Department of Licensing. Everyone from reception, to the woman who helped me, to the man taking man taking my picture were so polite. I’ve never had an experience like that. How hard is it to be polite! They were great. If you have to wait an hour at least you shouldn’t have to deal with mean individuals.

You should probably have more then 2 lanes open on a Monday when you’re the only DOL open on this side of town. I mean that’s just my suggestion :)

I had to call the WA State DOL because I couldn’t get my license replaced on the state DOL website for some reason, and I got transferred to this Olympia office. Turns out there was a processing issue on their end and even though I had to wait on hold for 5 – 10 minutes before someone took my call, the dude was AMAZINGLY helpful, friendly and had a helpful attitude. He put me on hold and called some other department and within a few minutes everything was cleared up and I was able to order my license online.
Everybody experiences so much stress and negativity with the DOL employees (of every state) it was surreal to get such excellent customer service from this office in Olympia. Unbelievable 5 stars for the Olympia DOL office!

Understaffed. 2 people out of 6 windows working and 1 person taking photos. But that’s what you get with every DMV! Once no more photos needed the staff taking photos helps the main counter, rotating. Nothing like a CA DMV it’s not a mad house!
I was in and out in 44min so that’s a plus!
An hour after opening another staff member comes to help out the front, so at least 3 out of 6 windows available
I think it’s part of the job requirement to hate your job when working at DMV
And another way for the state to take your money, $ 91?! I already have a license, just needed one for the state…
The building looks nice on the outside but the lobby looks old and dated
