I tried the monkey course and it was so fun! I thought I would be most afraid of the zip lining but actually it was fun. The harness makes you feel so secure. The staff for the most part was very friendly. Kudos to the dude in the dreadlock. So nice and patient when my partner was stuck on the diamond course. He kept tabs on us once in awhile to assure us we were taken care of. The only downside is the weather can be unpredictable!

We’ve been there twice and both times it was a hit. The kids love the challenge of completing the obstacles and we parents love that it tires them out. I, dad, joined in the first time and had a great experience. Definitely a must-​do in the Tahoe City area.

Adventure outside your comfort zone. Looking at the course you think, «ya that ain’t too bad.» Once on, you think differently. It was taxing on the body and mind. Bring or buy gloves. Start on fuzzy bunny, then spiral, then twins, then snowboard. Once you do that and have a rest, try the black Diamond. We wussed out for black diamond, but intend on returning to try it. Certainly worth it!

Who was it that said you should «do something that scares you» in order feel alive? This is the place. Test your agility and daring here. Lots of courses on the Monkey for all abilities. Lots of people out here but never really had to wait more than a minute to attempt the next feat. Be sure to bring lots of water as the place and altitude will dry you out, gloves also help too. Nice laid back crew watching out for the «hangers» like myself, got stuck on one of the obstacles and they were on it.

This place is amazing! My girlfriend wanted to do something unique for her birthday, so this is what we found! It was so much fun! We did the monkey course, and had 2.5 hours to play on the 5 courses with in the monkey course! They had courses of all levels (one beginner, 3 intermediate, and 1 expert). We were a group of 16, and got to go at our own paces, and separate into smaller groups to play on the courses. The courses are all self guided, and you have a locking double clamp system to keep you safe! (I was a little nervous about not having a guide, or belayer, but once I saw the clamps, all my worry went away! It is a super safe, and full proof system!!)
I was able to complete all 5 sub courses in the monkey course. I started on the beginner (fuzzy bunny) just to warm up, it was a lot of fun, and pretty easy. Next I did an intermediate (the spiral), a little harder, but still fun! Then I jumped to the expert course, it was fun, I finished the course, but had a hard time on the rings.(the instructor said its the hardest obstacle on the property… It is!!! But try it!!! I’m super proud I completed it!). Then on to the other 2 intermediate courses… Both a ton of fun! All the courses end in a zip line to the ground, some of the people in our group were super scared of the zip lines, but I thought they were tons of fun!!!
I can’t wait to go back! This place was so much fun, and super safe! A great way to spend an afternoon! Grab a group, and go have a blast!

My 10 year old son and I went straight up the Monkey’s course like two keen chimpanzees. At moments, it felt like we were swinging through the trees enjoying our new found freedom. All that’s missing is bananas at the rest points! Seeing my son take on every new rope with glee was an enormous joy.
The balancing beams, wires and hoops challenged muscles that had laid dormant for too many years! When you return to ground, it takes a while to adjust to a harness-​free environment. Nothing that a cold beer can’t cure.
The pride on my daughter’s face after two hours on the Flying Squirrel Course has created a long-​lasting memory.
Highly recommended for families and hirsute parents.

Mini Background:
I went here with my friends (there were five of them not including me). All of my friends are afraid of heights, but me. However I’m not an adrenaline junkie type and I pretty zen. I love roller coasters, but I’m not scared on them, I can go on drop zone (Parmount’s Great America) by myself and be bored, it’ll kind of be scary with a person I know, but not really).
Experience:
I think this is great for those who enjoy this type of stuff or someone who might get a rush. It can be doable for those who are afraid of heights, but to me after seeing my friends.
If you’re going to get anxiety, I don’t think you should do it. I don’t think stressing your body is worth it and your mental state of being, it might drain you for the rest of the day or just the experience can be draining. There are different levels of anxiety and two of my friends for sure had that and one did have a really rough time and the other one persisted even though it was giving her anxiety. I really urge you to opt out at any given point (there are some ladders sometimes if you don’t want to continue, but it’s not at every end of each zipline.
Yes, people have always said things like this is what I want to accomplish, this is what I want to get over, this is what I want to overcome. Good for you, and not so good for you if it will stress you out so much where it’s actually unhealthy, it’s a bit easier if you do want to do it.
Aside from that one friend was afraid of heights, but it was just more fearful if anything, and another one is the most competitive athletic person I have ever met, but she afarid of heights, and it was nerve wrecking.
To the one who had the one who had the most anxiety after awhile she thought: if they can do this, than I can two, she ended up going on the hardest course with me and my friend who is the least scared of heights amongst the rest.
I just urge you not to push anyone to do anything regardless of age and also you might want to check in with them, but I asked one of them if me shouting you can do it helps or worsens things: it might not end up encouraging them, but actually putting more pressure on them to do well.
Aside from that, I think you get a lot for your buck, I did all courses, but one, I did an easy, the hardest, and a bunch of regular ones or whatever they were called.
You can go hands free, upside down, etc. I do go hands-​free, I forgot to do upside down because I wanted to try that out.
It definitely wasn’t for me, I like zip lining the first time I did it (2009), and I like nature so I thought I would like this. But, I just zipped past through the courses like it was nothing, it was a piece a cake. It wasn’t challenging just on me as a person for the way I am.
You’re safe unless you don’t pay attention to Conner or whoever is demonstrating. You’re safe a harness, you can’t fall on a harness. And just listen to the rules. And you should be fine.
There will be rude or annoying groups out there that you’re sharing the space with or really nice people. So it’s kind of nice to find one that isn’t taken when you start your first course. And if you have a bigger group it’ll be easy for you guys to do the next course after.
This place is great for kids and adults.

My 12 and 14 year old love doing this every summer they come up to Tahoe. Definitely worth the money if your kids are up to it.

Came here as part of our wedding anniversary celebration, and this was the highlight of our trip! $ 50 for 2.5 hours felt a little steep, but after experiencing the park, I can tell you that it’s a good value. We had enough time to get through all of the courses at least once, and some courses twice… could have spent all there there without getting bored! Can’t wait to go back with the kids!
I should also mention that the Granlibakken Resort, where this adventure park is located, is a fantastic place to stay! We spent two nights there at a good value, and enjoyed all of the amenities, including the ropes courses!

Fantastic way to spend your afternoon. My 8 and 9 yr old sons loved this place. Totally worth the money you pay. $ 50 per adult $ 40 per child and you get 2 ½ hours to go through the obstacle courses and zip lines, which is plenty of time. You go at your own pace and the employees were amazing, very helpful, funny, and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting tahoe city.

This is a must try when you come to Tahoe! The obstacle courses and zip lines on the Monkey Course are pretty fantastic… you will be sore the next day so make sure you stretch after. It was $ 50 for each adult. We’ll definitely do it again!

A fantastic place for just about any age group. We booked for the 2 PM time and ended up enjoying the entire afternoon at our leisure re-​visiting the courses we liked the most. Well designed for various skill levels. The expert course was indeed tuned for those in great shape and with good agility. The kids courses had 6 year old children safely having the time of their life moving through the obstacles as they traveled from tree to tree.
Our experience booking the early afternoon start time proved to be an advantage. The busy morning and lunch time crowd is eliminated and as the day progresses you almost have the courses to yourself with very little waiting. I’m sure we could have stayed until closing if we had the stamina to endure the more adventurous courses multiple times. The staff is there to make your experience as enjoyable as possible, so attempting any course for the second or third time is just fine if you are up to it.
North Tahoe Adventures is located just a minute or so south of Tahoe City on HIghway 89. Very easy to find and close to the lake for dining, biking, or hiking after the tree sports.
You definitely will get a workout from the courses. Great staff to assist when needed, but I found that everyone in our group were very capable of handling all of the courses at each individuals own pace without any problems. The tree courses are a combined obstacle course with an endurance test added as a bonus. You will feel like you just completed a very thorough workout if you try all of the Monkey Course’s.
We had four hours of some of the most fun, yet challenging events we have tackled in a long time. The canopy of trees in a beautiful lake setting really added to the fun.
There are numerous zip lines of various lengths that are included with each course. What a great way to spend a Saturday. North Shore has so many great inexpensive restaurants along with the marina to enjoy after your treetop workout, so you will definitely have a long and complete day of enjoyment.

We did NTA at Squaw Valley. It was hard to find. So, drive past the village area and you’ll find a large parking lot. Look to your right and you’ll see a small rope course. That is the spot. That is where you sign in too.
The course is fun, but small. I was bored in 30 minutes. But the kids age 9 enjoyed it for the entire time. $ 40 for kids. $ 50 for adults. Not a cheap adventure.
The area is small and challenging.

Came here with the family and did the Flying Squirrel Course. The kids had a blast in the rain! Can’t wait to come back and do the Monkey Course

We had a group of 10 adults do the Monkey Course this weekend and everyone loved it! The staff were very friendly and good about making everyone feel comfortable. We all completed the Twins and Wind Chimes courses. I highly recommend people do the twins course first.
This is a great activity for both kids and adults! Definitely bring some water, and gloves if you have them!

Great customer service and a really fun day. Climbing trees is a great activity when the snow is lousy.
My only ding is that we have done this twice in NY and it was more fun because the smaller kids aren’t kept in a separate area. They just get to stay with a parent and work their way up the courses until it gets too hard.

This is an obstacle course with variable degrees of difficulty that go along with the zip lines.
One is allowed about 2 hours with quick instruction and guidance around the various courses. A great workout or a good way to see how much work you need on your arms.
Some courses are deceiving to be easy but are more challenging than expected. I finished nearly all courses with only not completing 25 percent of the advanced course.
Good: instruction and guidance in case you are stuck.
Bad: limited time to do course.
Advice: get started earlier in day as you won’t compete with the next group coming in
Overall a great experience. It is everything I have expected. Five stars. I will be back.

My family went to Tahoe and chose Tree Top
adventures as a fun activity because I had never done it before. It was amazing! The instructors were all very friendly and encouraging. I am terrified of heights but had fun and finished all of the courses. The price is very reasonable and the 2 ½ hours go by sooo fast! This is a must if you are looking for fun in Tahoe!

Technically I would give this a 4.5, with the only reasons being that 1) they really should insist that you bring gloves and 2) if you get behind a large group, it slows you waaay down.
Otherwise, this place is awesome! The instructors are very helpful during «ground school» and I never felt uncomfortable being on my own after that. The courses are just challenging enough and the black diamond is definitely tough. I would actually recommend doing it third or forth rather than last because you’ll need the arm strength!
Also, if you go, PLEASE show up 15 minutes ahead as they request. Everyone misses out on course time if you’re late. They aren’t kidding about road maintenance — give yourself an extra 30 minutes.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!
My friends and I were spending the weekend in Tahoe and were looking for outdoorsy things to do. We came at the beginning of May (down season), so it was pretty difficult to find places that were open. I was searching on Unilocal and not only found this ropes course, but also a 2-​for-​1 deal since it was low season in Tahoe. We paid $ 45 for two people, which is a steal, considering the 3 hour duration.
Staff:
— Friendly and helpful! I called prior to booking to confirm the level of difficulty of the ropes courses. Wanted to make sure they were challenging enough for the group of people I went with, who are pretty athletic. Once they confirmed, I booked the tickets online. (TIP: book reservations in advanced, they fill up) On the day of, the staff were also very helpful in getting us through the paperwork and instructions processes fairly quickly.
Parking:
— Lots of parking in the area, just make sure to mind the signs
Safety:
— I also wanted to point out one more thing — Safety. I’ve done two other ropes courses in which they use D-​rings. The guides are very thorough and emphasize that you only release one D-​ring at a time so that if you do fall, you’ll always be connected by one D-​ring. At North Tahoe Adventures, they have a contraption that won’t let you unlock one ring until the other is locked. This will prevent folks from accidentally disconnecting two rings at a time. It’s kinda a pain in the bum since it’s way bulkier than two ropes and a D-​ring, but definitely a lot safer.
Courses:
— Flying Squirrel Course: Targeted for ages 10 and under
— Monkey Course (We did this course): Targeted for those 10 and older. This course consists of 5 individual courses (1 green/​easy, 3 blue/​intermediate, 1 black/​expert).
What to Expect:
— Pull into designated parking spots (arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time)
— Walk over to the meeting area to sign release forms
— Staff will direct you over to the area with the harnesses and help you into them
— Follow group to Monkey Course central area where you can drop off your bags and water bottles
— Staff will walk you through the grounds training (safety course) for about 20 – 30 minutes
— Once you’ve successfully navigated the course safely, you’re off to do whatever course you want (TIP: Scope out the courses before you start on them to make sure there is no backup. You don’t want to be waiting around for people to clear the obstacles before you can go)
— You’ll have 2 hours to naviage through as many of the 5 courses as you’d like. We had ample time to do all 5 within the alloted time.
Other Tips:
— Arrive at least 15 minutes early
— Bring water (you’ll have somewhere to put it)
— Bring gloves
— If you’re a guy, wear anything but basket ball shorts, unless you have a very high pain tolerance… keep in mind you’ll be strapped into harnesses that hug :)
