Lpi Printing & Copy

I called an hour prior to visiting the shop, with a request to print letterhead in color. I told them if I hadn’t heard from them within the hour, that I would be there since it was on my way home. My voice message was unheard.
I arrived simultaneously with a man who had trouble with the English language. The clerk focused her attention on him and I even tried to assist her with ascertaining his needs.
In the process, another man came in, and she proceeded to wait on him, This was the first time she was indignant. She threw up her hands and said «Well, I’m not doing anything now,» to suggest that I was the one impeding progress. I told her that I was there first and even the new patron agreed. She claims she thought I was with the man who had a language barrier. I tried to let that go.
I then announced who I was, and she immediately assumed that I was someone else who had a similar request and placed an order. I confirmed who I was once again and assured her that although our requests were similar that we were 2 different people.
The 2^nd clerk arrived minutes later and asked who I was. She called me by a different name. I reminded her who I was and that I had told her who I was 3 times. She emphatically stated that I only said who I was ‘once’. I tried to let that go. In fact, I exhibited extreme patience while she updated the clerk on a lamination order before I received attention.
When we finally got to my order, there was a problem with the document’s format. Now, I’m not used to vendor’s making me feel uncomfortable for an error that they should have the expertise to figure out. Never had this problem at Kinko’s or Mailboxes Etc. But thought that maybe I should stay and see what develops. At this point, other customers entered the shop. Before she went over to attend to them, she instructed me what I needed to do in order to proceed and said that what she was doing was considered technical advice which should according to her be an additional charge. Again, I let that go.
I cleaned up the document and had to leave for a meeting. I told the 2^nd clerk I had to go and that I would be back. She chased me out the door for my contact information was easily accessible from my voicemail message, which she never bothered to hear.
And the kicker is, that when she finally realized that I wanted color copies (which was also mentioned 3 times) the $ 14 price for 100 copies became $ 75, Very suspect, to say the least.
Normally, I can brush off such behavior. However, I spent an hour there and was late for a meeting. As a result, I have to work through the evening in order to make deadline.
My recommendation: If you have an hour to kill for a simple job (black and white withstanding) then by all means, this is your place. But if you want terrific, prompt, customer service, you’re better off with a business who treats the customers they way in which they would like to be treated.
