I wrote a review for this place a while back based on their takeout. I’m updating my review because I recently had a sitdown meal here and was pleasantly surprised. Though the restaurant is small, they manage to squeeze quite a few tables into a small space without making you feel crowded. Also, if you sit at one of the tables along the hallway, you can expect a quiet meal undisturbed by the takeout customers coming and going. I got the lunchtime sushi special, and both rolls were good – especially for the price. Also, the bathrooms are super clean, and service is quick(important on one’s lunch break). I’d definitely come back.

My hibachi steak lunch came with a crunchy iceberg lettuce salad with carrots and a nice mile ginger dressing. The chicken soup(broth) was very flavorful with a few slivers of mushrooms and scallions. I really enjoyed this. Light and refreshing! If you want fried rice with lunch it is almost $ 2 more but white is ok with me today. My hibachi steak came perfectly cooked with rice, freshly sautéed veggies. My waitress was attentive without being overly so and kept my drink filled. She was also very friendly. I think I need to give this place a few more tries!

Small location with a sushi bar. Has TV. Located in busy complex. Called to order food ahead but it was not ready when I arrived though I did arrive ahead of schedule. Food smells amazing. Made fresh. Looks Like the guy who makes sushi also doubles as cashier in this place, which is a bit inconvenient since he has to take of gloves every time he rings someone up. I also don’t know how hygienic that is. The food was okay not the best I’ve ever had though. I had a sunshine maki.

What a delightful find in a Publix strip mall !! The wait staff was knowledgable and accommodated a change of noodle type in my bento box. The vegetables were fresh and the chicken plentiful. Probably the best fried rice ever! Tiny place with great sushi, too

Hasu is a very small space, and I will say that I was extremely skeptical. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. It looks like a storefront food joint. The kind of place that is fine for lunch, when expectations aren’t all that high. However, I was extremely surprised. I ordered a miso soup, avocado salad and sushi for two. Easily, the BEST sushi I have had in Tallahassee. Arguably, the best sushi I have ever had. Everything was the right temperature, and the right quality of fish. Sampled maki rolls, sashimi and nigiri of the chef’s choice. The price was amazing for the great food. The server was polite, but enthusiastic. If I had any advice, I would have like some ambient music and a curtain separation of a server station. It is two minutes up the street from me. I will be back, and often

Their chicken fried rice is my comfort food. I don’t know anyone who’s tried it who isn’t impressed. People’s first reaction is how«fresh» the chicken tastes.

So first off, clearly this place isn’t exactly authentic Japanese. They serve fried rice with their bento boxes, and have tons of(delicious) sushi rolls with deep fried stuff. That said, the food tastes really good. Went with my bf and he got the chicken katsu bento box. The chicken katsu wasn’t the best I’ve had, but I haven’t tried any other places in Tally so not sure if it’s up to par with this area. I got a couple different sushi rolls. The red dragon roll in particular was delicious. Very convenient location too. Def want to come back soon!

Weekday lunch One star is to very bland, or should i say… super healthy = no flavor, (1÷5) Seafood Udon noodle soup($ 14.95) — It wasn’t worth the money. Although the price is same as the famous ramen joint in New York City, Ippudo(4 star out of 5390 reviews), but it was far from it. It was very bland. It was a super healthy, no favor, for me. I asked for Shichimi(seven flavor chili pepper that must have in any Japanese restaurant) but I was offered white peppers. They don’t know of Shichimi. It’s like this, if you are at a burger joint but found that they don’t have ketchup and don’t know what is. (2÷5) Vegetable Tempura($ 11.95), from regular menu — It was better but I wish the Tempura sauce came with grated Daikon radish to balance off the grease like most Tempura comes with. (3÷5) Agedashi Tofu($ 5.50) — surprised of the generous portion but it was okay. (3÷5) Edamame($ 4.95) was quality than quantity but acceptable. (3÷5) The best flavorful dish was obviously to what the restaurant knew the best, Chinese food, fried rice($ 5.95). It was light and fluffy fried rice and it was generously served.
