Burger 21 is a «beyond the better burger»
fast-casual franchise concept founded in 2010. Burger 21 is a chef-inspired brand with offerings including 21 unique burger creations ranging from handcrafted,
freshly ground beef to chicken, turkey, shrimp and tuna burgers, made-to-order salads, Hebrew National all-beef hot dogs and an extensive shake bar
including hand-dipped shakes, floats and sundaes. Burger 21 launched its franchise sales program in September 2011. Burger 21 also offers a gluten free menu.
History
Established in 2009.
Burger 21 came to be in November 2009 when the owners of The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. fondue restaurant franchise
envisioned a fast-casual, «beyond the better burger» concept that featured 21 chef-inspired burgers with appetite appeal from the
gourmet to the traditional burger lover.
The founders of Burger 21 saw an opportunity to introduce a higher-quality product and fill a void in the burger business. There are
plenty of quick-service burger joints, a number of traditional-style «better burger» establishments and even upscale, full-service
burger restaurants. The Burger 21 concept would define its own category — the «beyond the better burger» segment — placing it in a
position to grow rapidly across the U.S.
