THE WORST!
Out in the rain I went just to finish my project. I’m replacing the top of the buffet portion of a antique European sideboard because it couldn’t be saved. I wanted to match the wood so I gingerly removed a trim piece to take with me so they could help me pick the best match. This wonderful elderly man tried to help but apparently I wasn’t explaining myself well enough. It was simple: I need a piece of wood that matched the wood in my hand cut at these measurements, I wrote them down. «Let me ask the expert, he should know.» Up walks the manager Trevor. He mumbles something about not cutting trim pieces and walks away into the back room (I’m thinking he’s going to do alittle research or something and come back and tell me exactly what I need). He walks back out a few minutes later and starts unwrapping his lunch sandwich in front of me as if I wasn’t there??? I said HELLO, I’m waiting for some information (the issue my have been that I’m a women, what do I know right?) My sister is a master carpenter and she loves to buy exotic and cool woods from them. I can’t really remember his response because I was so dumbfounded at his Inattentiveness I said ‘oh my gosh I’ve been standing here waiting for you to give me the information that I need and you’re NOT EVEN PRESENT.” And instead of apologizing and’s and saying he misunderstood me or my request he asks me why I’m getting so irritated!!! Am I in the twilight zone? He came across like an arrogant boy with little to no customer service skills. I said, forget it I’ll just go to homedepot or Lowes and I hope you don’t own the store or you’ll go out of business. Mind you, I was the only person in there so I’m sure they could have used the 75.00 I spent at at Home Depot. Imagine losing 75.00 to one person a day because you can’t be bothered? Those pennies will add up.
I’ve been there many times in the past but not in many years and they were always very helpful. Clearly those days are gone.
