Painting with a Twist

What a fun and energetic group activity! I have been yearning for an opportunity to do a painting with a twist event with my friends or family! Class is bring your own booze and snacks to eat and drink while you see your creation come to life. The room is colorful and comfortable– the artists who guided us through was named Nikki and she was divine! She was enthusiastic, bubbly, very friendly and super sweet. Other people were helping us with grabbing supplies and techniques to find a comfort to our work. What my friends and I loved about this place was definitely the customer service and how warm and welcoming the artists and staff were! They went above and beyond to guide you through the experience and also by the way when you bring your snacks and drinks, we shared a home made punch for the adults and everyone seemed to like it! Make it your own for a date a fun activity with creative people to add a touch of color to a naked wall in your house. WE LOVED IT!

Fun activity for a group

This place is wonderful! My friend and I love going there for a fun Friday out. I love my paintings. So much fun… However, I don’t like how we have to sit and wait for people who are late. Last time I went, there were people strolling in until 8 when the class started at 7. This cut down on our class time so we were rushed. I don’t find that fair. I think that I should get my 2 hours since I. Red it and paid for it.

I decided to have a painting party this year for my birthday. Definitely worth doing again. Everyone had a great time painting, and their painting turned out fantastic! The staff was wonderful, our instructor was delightful and the atmosphere was lovely. I’ve been to other painting places before, but Painting With A Twist Carrollwood is my favorite location.

What an amazing experience!
I took my best friend over to this place for his birthday a couple months ago because he admires art and wanted to explore his «artsy» side, which is there but not quite if you know what I mean… He said a few times that he wanted to learn how to paint and on Facebook I saw a friend of mine went to the Trinity location and I thought it was the coolest thing! I emailed them to ask them if this is the sort of thing that you have to be experienced to do and they said it’s fine to be a first timer and is highly encouraged!
We signed up for the wicked moonlight painting session on a Friday night, which was $ 35 per seat ($ 70 in total). My bf was kind of nervous, but was excited when we got in there and saw how many people were first timers and have never really painted before. They said we could bring our own food and drinks, so we went to the nearest Pei Wei and also brought some wine with us. The session was for two hours, with a break in between, and the instructors would slow down and float around to see how everyone was doing and see if anyone needed help. This was amazing because not only did my bf fall behind, but I fell behind too and was thankful for the catching up. When we stopped them, no matter how far behind you were, they were so happy to help! The staff there is so nice and friendly that you feel right at home.
All in all, we ended up with really cool paintings that we cherish and show off to everyone when they come over to our place. As said in other reviews, you really do leave with a sense of accomplishment/​achievement that you did something that you thought only people who were born with the talent could do! As for my bf, he unlocked his artsy side and wants to do it again! So we will be back for more painting fun, thank you for this wonderful memory/​experience!

Five star review for Michelle, the owner, and her wonderful staff. I have now been to this location three times. Once for a girls night, once for a birthday party and the last time was for a fundraiser (we raised over $ 900 for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay). All three times have been lots of fun.
I have been a guest twice and planned an event for 42. For the event I planned, everything was seamless. I will definitely plan another event here. Our artist, Kelly, was down to earth, funny and easy-​going.
You leave here feeling a sense of accomplishment and have a wonderful reminder of a great day/​night.

1^st class Painting.
We came, we laughed, and we painted. A good activity to do with friends or family. The Carrollwood location is clean, bright, and friendly. It is located behind Chili’s and next to the Side-Spliter’s comedy club. We had no experience but our paintings turned out just fine. I have been to other painting places but this one is my favorite.

My sister is an artist so I know what it takes to create art. I write. So I know my limitations when it comes to creating visual, not verbal, «art.» Painting With a Twist is an idea that intrigued me. I doubted my own abilities. I figured I would probably worry too much about following instructions. I knew I would fail on some level. I still have clay pots I made in elementary school so I know what I am capable of, or not, even with art instruction.
Instead I left with a feeling of achievement and a painting that surprised me. In a good way.
Participating in a group painting event at the newly opened Painting with a Twist in Carrollwood was definitely fun but it was also fascinating to find out firsthand how the instructor can take something that can be really daunting to people and make it so do-​able.
It was a friendly, informal and really relaxing experience. Lots of humor, good music and, for some, good wine all contributed to the festive feel that went a long way towards eliminating any apprehensions.
The instruction is minimal but that is the point. The instructor, for lack of a better word, describes and demonstrates what to do but the interpretation is really up to you. Rather than trying to get people to duplicate an idea or copy a painting, the real fun is in liberating participants to fearlessly try, boldly experiment and unleash their inner, more unconventional artist.
This is a great activity for individuals, couples, groups and just anyone who likes art, admires art but has never really considered themselves capable of creating art.
I can’t wait to go back and be a little more fearless and really allow myself to think outside the box and color outside the lines.
