A-​Ok. Easy to find, right off the freeway. Being dark and rainy (Tropical Storm Colin was coming in!) I missed the entrance and decided to make a circle back. The neighborhood was sketchy! Although there was a cool looking Cuban bakery I wished I stopped at. The shower head did not completely turn on– some was still dripping out the faucet so the pressure was a bit low but overall, nothing to complain about. The complementary breakfast is not continental so bonus there. Guests can make their own waffles on one of the four waffle griddle but make sure you keep an eye on the timer otherwise the server will make an announcement– mostly so your waffle doesn’t burn.
I didn’t get to use the pool of laundry room or computer or volleyball court but all was available. And there were snacks and misc toiletries available at the front for a late snack.

Eglin Air Force Base, FL
To start things off we arrived around midnight, and their graveyard front desk worker was no where to be found. We noticed a guy driving past us on a golf cart, who directly looked at us standing outside, under the pull through, and kept on past us. Come to find out that was front desk worker. After a 20 minute wait he finally came to check us into our hotel, without a single apology for making us wait. He again leaves the desk before we are even to our car to drive to our room, and on our way we see him parked in his golf cart along side a sketchy car in the far back corner of the parking lot, leaving a lot of room for assumption to what was going on. Definitely didn’t feel to safe that night. When we finally got to our room, we walked into a huge stain on the carpet, a bathroom with water damage on the ceiling and peeling paint. The A/​C unit worked occasionally, until the last night when it quit entirely. Towel in the bathroom had clumps of long hair on it also. Needless to say, it was a bit dissapointing. Nice pool area, also looks nice from the outside, but the service we received and our room were far under par.

I will never book a Quality Inn again! I called from the road late in the afternoon for a room that same evening and when we broke down on the way they charged my card the full amount. I was never told anything at the time of the call about it being too late to cancel under any circumstances and since it was only a couple hours after the initial call in that my car broke down and I called them back to let them know my situation I NEVER thought they would do that! I understand the charge if I reserve and don’t show up OR if they had even explained that once I give them my card number I would be charged no matter what because it was after the cut off time to cancel. What a joke. I’ve stayed at these establishments countless times over the years and will never go back. I would also caution anyone calling this particular hotel. I’d spend my money elsewhere… somewhere that is upfront and honest when taking a reservation request. Happy travels to you all! Remember, for a quality stay… go somewhere else.

The ONLY reason for three stars, and not less, is because the staff is friendly and breakfast was good.
Maybe we just got a bad room, or maybe they are all like the photos I posted. Needless to say, we will NOT be staying here again.
Definately gave me the feeling of a motel, with awful linens, than a hotel.

Room was awesome. Got a King suite and it was very spacious and clean. The bathrooms were very modern and we had two in our suite which was nice. Breakfast wasn’t too great though but I guess that’s to be expected. Other than that, service was extremely friendly. Really enjoyed my stay and would book here again.

This hotel is conveniently located a few miles from the Florida Fairgrounds Amphitheater. If you’d rather stay the night rather than make the trek home after a late concert (or whatever) this would be a place I’d recommend without hesitation.
The rooms are clean and well appointed and a very good value for weary (or bleary) traveler. The beds are super comfortable, and the rooms are very pleasantly laid out. Our room had a small refrigerator, micro coffee maker, nothing super duper but there wasn’t a single disappointment either.
The staff is very friendly and l attentive. You won’t find any rip-​off vending machines like I’ve come to expect (unfortunately) of hotels at this quality level. The people working there always asked me if there was anything I needed to make my stay more more comfortable, or if everything in the room was okay. I was really pleasantly surprised by the way the staff cared about their guests.
The security here was very visible, professional, & effective by the looks of things. I encountered security people whenever I went outside, even in the wee hours of the morning. I usually find security personnel goofing off between 3 – 5 am at most hotels.
In summary, I found this hotel to be a great value, especially compared to hotels closer to the fairgrounds. They thoroughly exceeded my expectations!

Room received at check in had not been through house keeping, unacceptable. Complained, next room given was right by a door… people coming in and yelling all night long. The fridge was loud too, it sounded like a running generator all night long. Asked to be moved to a different room next day, they did move me luckily. Next, the room had carpet stains all over the place. The sink and tub were clogged up, water accumulated like crazy. The towels also were too think and small, they felt old too.
The breakfast was so so, but at least they provide it. The issue here is the lady who refills stations… she is a control freak watching people’s every move and watch guests eat. Sorry but this made me feel uncomfortable, you cannot be watching people like a hawk as they serve themselves and as they eat. The man who also refills the stations needs to be told to stop checking out the women as he enters and leaves the room. I caught him plenty of times looking at my legs and chest every time he entered and he did the same to my sister.
The hotel is in a very sketchy area. I was worried about my car every night I was there.
I wouldn’t stay here again for the price there are better options out there.

Had a dead battery when we went to leave for our show. Fretting about how long the taxi might take to pick us up, Boomer from the front desk came to our rescue!!! He took us to the amphitheater in his personal vehicle so we wouldn’t be late. What a guy! What great customer service! Will definitely stay here again.

Kind of musty and smelly, but, the room was clean. The front desk was very accommodating, even through a mixup in our reservation. Even when we inquired about the laundry, she was sure to remember to ask about other needs. This was very refreshing for a family spending all day at the amusement park.

Very clean and nice hotel. Very quiet and liked that the entire hotel is in a fenced area so you can walk between the two buildings and feel safe. Great open areas to let your pup roam and potty. There is night security so that adds to the safeness. I really enjoyed my two nights here. Also cameras everywhere and their doors actually do close and lock so you will need your room key to access the outside doors. I knocked a star down because they don’t have microwaves in the room so you have to go to the breakfast area.

This hotel was clean, convenient, and affordable. No bedbugs, no break-​ins, no noise. So I would stay here again. I should mention the hotel has two buildings and I was placed in the back building closest to the interstate.
The area was definitely not the best — I saw some people the next morning who looked like ladies off the night just off from their nightly shifts. I had heard this area is a hotbed (no pun) for this sort of activity, according to Tampa News. But again, no problems. Also, parking lot appeared fairly secure from action passing by (not an impermeable membrane by any stretch, but fenced).
Convenient to Ybor City and close enough to downtown where I had a business meeting.
Bottom-​line: I would return to this hotel if I needed a clean place to crash before a business meeting (or maybe a cruise since that’s what it looks like many people like to do).

This palace was terrible. The only reason I chose it over a downtown hotel was that they had a «shuttle service.» This is not accurate at all. The shuttle driver was off by 2pm the first day and they had to get someone else to take me downtown. Then on the third day there was over 2 hour wait. The best part was day two. I got up early to go and asked the front desk when the shuttle runs. I was told a half hour. 45 minutes later no one showed up. So, the front desk called and found out the shuttle person didn’t work that day. So, they called a cab. Another nearly hour wait the cab finally showed up. I ended up being late for my meeting thanks to their incompetence. The price was not worth the hassle.

A really nice hotel! The service from check in to check out was excellent. Rooms are clean and high end. The beds were very comfortable.
Also, they have a shuttle that will take you to nearby attractions for $ 10 per room! If you’re bar hopping in Ybor City like we did, it’s totally worth it!

Hard to find a good hotel close to the Hard Rock casino, but this one is the best you can do and at a very good price. I like the free breakfast, but it was mostly bread items. Book on Hotwire to save money.

I’m only giving a 2 star on this based solely on the way the hotel staff treated us. They were very rude and argumentative about things. That said, lets talk about the rest of the expereince. Staying here on last night in the area beacuse it was close to Ybor City. Hotel was clean, however there was a funky wet smell in the hallways. Room was big and clean. Impressed with the rooms.
Took the shuttle to Ybor… and I was confused as to why the varying prices to locations. Why not just one flat rate per room as most choice hotels do? The shuttle driver-​wow it was like being on a roller coaster. WIld and crazy ride! Made us laugh. I’d stay here again if and only if I didn’t have to interact with the front desk staff.

After searching dozens of hotels in the area, we picked Quality Inn based on all the great online reviews. This place did not disappoint! We arrived around 8pm the night before our cruise and the place was a bit tricky to find, it’s located on a side road not visible from the major road, but if you follow your GPS, you should be able to find it easily.
There were 5 of us in the party, so we originally asked for a rollaway bed for a $ 10, and they offered us a special deal – for $ 30 we could upgrade to a suite, which is essentially a regular room, a sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, 2 closets, and a living room area. They allowed us to view the room first and we’re glad we made the decision to upgrade – it was so roomy and comfortable for our group!
The one thing I really appreciated about this place was the extremely clean feel – upon walking in, the floors smell like they were just freshly cleaned and we didn’t experience anything that was even remotely questionably dirty. The breakfast is very good for complimentary, they provide everything you could want for a light breakfast and an assortment of just the right condiments. There’s a make-​your-​own waffle machine and even biscuits and gravy, which seemed to be the biggest hits.
Definitely recommend a stay here, especially before or after a Tampa cruise!

I had a very enjoyable stay from check-​in to check-​out. The breakfast was average, but it was enough to feed us. The room was clean, and there was no hair in the bed or the bathroom — which is always a plus. I was slightly concerned about the neighborhood surrounding the hotel, but my car was here and intact in the morning. I would stay here again if the situation warranted it.

If you’re looking to stay near Ybor City at a fraction of the price, this is the place to be at. AAA discount doesn’t hurt either. :)
We arrived back from our cruise early and got an early check in (and upgraded to a King at no additional cost). The exterior of the building doesn’t look like anything great, but the inside is clean, roomy, and met all our needs. There’s a small fitness center, computer to use for internet, free wireless, an outdoor pool, and free breakfast in the morning.
The rooms itself are spacious and the bed was comfortable. My only complaints would be the lack of selection during breakfast and the slow plumbing (someone needs to drano the bathrooms!).
Cab fare is approximately $ 10 to go to the nightlife scene in Ybor city. I definitely recommend!

We stayed here because they were close to the Tampa Port Authority that we were sailing out of the next day and they offered and «stay cruise and park» package rate for only $ 99. The rooms were decent, but not spectacular, and the elevators smelled funny (in a bad way, like the cleaner they used was made up of ammonia and marshmallows-​weird combo I know, but that’s what it smelled like) however the beds were really comfy and the next day when the cruise boat was held up by fog and unable to dock at port they allowed us to stay in our rooms for no additional cost until we got the go ahead to head to port (which was like 6 hours past or original depart time).
I would absolutely stay there again if I were cruising because its very cost efficient for the parking of your vehicle and the transportation alone, but I would choose somewhere else if I were going to Tampa for any other reason.
