We had one good guy, but the rest were sub-​skilled. Couldn’t diagnose a thing. Always on the phone to their manager asking how to fix. Obviously not noticing anything else that needed fixed. I often had to call them back out. Up-​selling me all kinds of things. Tried to sell me a dirty AC filter with no plastic wrap that had been sliding around the back of the truck. Never seemed to have the needed parts. Always had to wait while another truck from far away brought the part. Don’t they trust their own guys with simple parts!!! This is a «sister» company to Franklin Plumbing. They do the exact same thing.
The reason I finally dumped them is they installed a new heat pump and damaged it during the install. They tried to tell me they had fixed it and it was good as new — but I purchased a new unit not a damaged one. I asked for ONE year of extended warranty and they said they would give it to me. Then I called them the next year — guess what, no extended year given. These people are CROOKS!
Just try to reach the owner about anything. He is impossible to reach. The only time you’ll see him is on their vans where he loves to put his picture.
I use CGM now. I get treated with respect. I like the repair guys, and I can reach their service manager and the owners any time I want. Locally owned Good Guys.

This company is horrible! One Hour AC & Ben Franklin Plumbing both affiliated and both charge exorbitant prices & service plans! Be warned they sell u on maintenance plan to call u and do routine check up and always find something expensive wrong with your AC when it’s been working fine! Employees work on commission and company not honest! Don’t be ripped off… bad reviews are True!

These guys came to my house yesterday and quoted $ 1300 to repair my ac unit. The tech was extremely pushy and used scare tactics to try to get me to replace the entire unit for $ 7000! I got it repaired for $ 150 today!

I use to like One Hour Air. I bought a service plan and come to find out they were not vacuuming the drain to avoid clogged line. For 3 days I’ve been dumping pails of water from a the inside unit draining water into the pan on the floor. I called someone else because the technician was just here for my maintenance. The outside drain line was plugged solid right at the end. There was no way the tech did his job. It makes me wonder if they ever did by the stuff that came out of that line. He lied right to me. Maybe cause I wasn’t buying anything from him. They get commission and obviously effects their job performance. I called Frosty’s AC Riverview. Techs are hourly and Brad did a great job. Drain cleaned from end to end. BEWARE

our house came with prepaid maintenance from Scott’s, so we let them in a couple of times. They may do some maintenance, but the entire time they are looking for something to sell you. Our technician took a ‘scary’ video of our air handler and implied it was mold growing there. He did not SAY it was mold and was very cagey about the way he said it over again, but he was trying to scare us for sure.
I was quoted 6000 dollars to replace all my ductwork! I called another company who told me I only needed to get different air filters and add a return to my system for a total of 450. That is a big difference. He said the ‘scary mold’ was normal in my situation and by making some small changes that the ‘mold’ would resolve itself.
Only go with these guys if you are in an emergency and need help, but be aware of the upsell and scare tactics. My neighbor said he had the same experience with them, that is when I checked Unilocal to see many who agree with me.

I commend your technician, Daniel Sipe. All of your technicians may be as high of standard as he, perhaps this is the excellence one gets with Scott’s One Hour A/C&Heating. If so, I am thankful to be with this company. I don’t know if I can condense my reasons as to why I like Daniel so much, but mainly I feel he is a master at his trade, and I feel comfortable and secure that he will take care of my A/​C & Heating situations. My comfort is not only in his superior service, but I feel his honesty and integrity are beyond measure. I do not feel pressured into getting something I do not need, and I know in my heart, that he is looking after us and our finances as much as our A/​C & Heating system. I have dealt with shady techs from other companies in the past and I hate being a victim to their dishonesty, but I do not have that worry with Daniel and Scott’s One Hour. I know you guy’s are a bit more expensive than some competitors, but that peace of mind is worth it. You get what you pay for. Thank you for that security and peace of mind, it means the world to us and thank you for employing someone like Daniel! He is worth every cent that he is paid and more! When we get out of debt, we hope to sit down with Daniel and work on getting a brand new system. He is the guy for the job! He has gained my trust and respect. Thanks Again! –Roy Scott

Worst product. Service people are great but always trying to push other parts. Had unit for 6 years and at least 12 service calls. Now have been waiting for parts for two weeks and when called they had no idea, what? Go somewhere else!!!

I hate Scott’s One Hour with a purple passion. They made the mistake of trying to push their ultraviolet light on my husband. Such a bad idea! I assume they did that because they think the wife will agree to anything. So I ask around at work which is a pretty big company, by the way, and I know the AC guys well. Something told me ultraviolet was a hoax and sure as shit, I was right. The survey they send you about the technician’s visit doesn’t work. Neither does Scott’s phone. Amazing, isn’t it? They are really good though about taking money. The only thing Scott is good for is wiping my ass.

I contacted 1hour air on ⁸⁄₁₆ for service on my unit. A technician was dispatched to my home and fixed no parts, replaced no broken parts and charged $ 265 for about 30 minutes worth of work. All that was done was he popped my thermostat back into place and said that was the issue. It is now 2am and my air is broken again. I’m informed that I would be charged another diagnostic fee which I feel is unacceptable. The technician, Juan Rivera should come back out and actually confirm the problem in order to support the charge for the earlier service. I called in to complain as to why 30 minutes = $ 265.00 was told that Ralph the manager would call me and I never received any calls back.
I believe if you did not fix the issue you should not get to charge for a service that was not done or there should be a guarantee on you service and since this air unit is clearly broken again this should be corrected!

ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. We had someone come out from ” Scott’s one hour air” (on 56^th st in tampa) and our evaporator coil has a leak and will need to be replaced and obviously need free-​on quoted 3,400… So we called 2 other places had them come out and for the same thing they are only charging us 1,350 to 1,500. I would not go back to this company «Scott’s One hour air» after the enormous price difference, also their slogan for «always on time or you don’t pay a dime» is useless because when I made our initial inspection appointment our time was 10am-​2pm when the gentleman got to my home his work order stated 10am-​7pm so basically they will never arrive late.

I wish I could give this lower than 1 star. They installed the unit. When I hit the «help» button it says «this unit has a lifetime warranty, please call for service!» when you call, they inform you they cannot service the location because I am renting my house. I told them that’s ridiculous, and asked if they care I will be calling another company to fix the AC they installed. They said it’s «policy»…HUH? Bunch of morons over there. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! They take your money and forget about you, even when you beg for help.

I’m giving it one star only because they refunded part of the money we wasted with them. Technicians try to sell a new system no matter what the age or condition of your original system. Shoddy repairs are done with the wrong parts. They charge 3 times the price as other companies. We had a reliable company come out and re-​do the shoddy work One Hour Air did and show us the REAL problem that only cost us $ 300 out of pocket vs the 2K we spent with One Hour. FYI — they also own Ben Franklin Plumbing who operate in the same way.

Horrible experience with this company. Our A/​C was not fixed, and we went the whole weekend with no A/​C (great living in Florida with two small children in the summer). I have called almost daily to get a refund on my service call (based on falsely advertised 100% guarantee). After 4 messages, not one call back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Not a fan. Had one good technician, but the other couple were always pushing expensive repairs and had horrible attitudes (trash talking other companies, unfriendly attitudes, etc.). The $ 8000 a/​c system we bought from them was apparently installed to an «good enough» standard — had a couple leaks and poorly insulated lines. When I called about the one year free maintenance that came with the me a/​c, they said they just don’t do any maintenance in the first year — talk about misleading! I’ll never use these clowns again!
