Debbie rescued me. New to the area, I was victim to an awful cut and worse color!!! I was reduced to wearing a wig most of the time — pretty warm for Fl!
Debbie spent time discussing my color and came closer to my natural color than anyone! She also gave a great cut. To top it off, she is very nice. I am about to make my next appointment

I found Seyward!!! Seyward is now here. Love, love, love this woman. Amazing stylist and an expert with color. Always feel like a VIP. You will not be disappointed when you let Seyward do her thang!

Heidi does an amazing job on my hair! I have not been able to achieve this color blonde ever! I feel like Heidi has the blonde skill mastered to an art. I get compliments on my hair all the time. Everyone is very personable and friendly, and they always do their best to work me in. I will never go anywhere else.

Holly highlighted my hair and did a keratin treatment. She did awesome, she also introduced me to some new products which I love. I was the only one I’m there getting my hair done but she took her time and made my hair look awesome and healthy! Will be back, and ask for Holly!

I went here today as i had a groupon. I had really dark brown hair, my natural color and holly did an amazing job at transforming my hair to a honey kind of blonde, without any damage to my hair (Which has been colored before and i do relaxers) and she’s been the only person to get my hair the color i wanted in only one session. She’s so nice and does a really good job and really listens to what you are wanting done with your hair. Without the groupon I probably wouldn’t have normally come here, but I will definitely be doing my root touch ups here and only with holly! and seeing that this is not a salon that looks accustomed to handling curly hair, she did an amazing job.

I purchased 2 Groupons and had back-​to-​back appointments. First appointment was for Jesner peel (I bought 3 for $ 99) with Veronica and those 10 minutes of the morning went well. Next was my appointment for «haircut, full highlights, blow dry, and a glass of wine or soda» for $ 59. My stylist was a very nice person so I will not divulge her name. I wanted 2 different shades for the highlight, and she told me there would be an additional charge of $ 30. Fine. The color came out fine. Not the best I’ve ever had, surely not the worst. Here comes the negative part of this review. I asked for a layered bob and it was a very amateur result. She did not section the hair at all, just combed it straight and cut her way around my head. Of course it was uneven. The ladies at Supercuts who have cut my toddler’s hair don’t even do it like that. I asked how long she has been doing hair and she said «about 3 years.» After a total of 2 hours in the salon, I was ready to leave. In the entire time I was there, I was not even offered a sip of water, let alone the glass of wine or soda that was supposedly included in my Groupon. At the register, the receptionist (husband of owner) asked how I wanted to pay the additional $ 30 so I gave him my credit card. I told him to add a $ 5 tip for the peel and $ 10 for the hair and he gave me a mean look, very unprofessional. I asked why and he said it was too low of a tip. And we had this whole uncomfortable conversation about tipping. He said the tip should be based on the amount it would have cost without the Groupon: $ 170. I laughed. There is no way anybody would pay $ 170 for a stylist with 3 years experience who was no better than a stylist at Supercuts. In college I worked as a waitress so I know about tipping. The price is a factor, but the service is the bigger factor. In my opinion, the tip reflected the service. He also informed me that the cost of 1 non-​Groupon Jesner peel costs $ 300. Was he expecting me to tip $ 45 for something I paid $ 33 for, which only took 10 minutes? This guy married into his wife’s salon business, but in my honest opinion, he is not well suited for this type of customer service driven job. Offending customers is bad for business. I do not recommend this salon.

I just went there, and I have no idea what these other people are talking about.
I called, got an apt. (they answered the phone) went to it and Veronica did a fabulous job. I came in there with a hot mess of hair and the cut she did on me made me feel like a rock star! It was beautiful. I wondered why I had neglected my hair so long. Then she did a keratin treatment and blew it out straight and flat ironed it. So since it was just yesterday, I can’t say if the product was amazing and if it lasts forever, but I can tell you that the haircut was wonderful, and all the staff were very friendly!

The dreaded man massage for the straight man like myself occurred here… but I must say it wasn’t too bad considering I did get a man. I meant to call before to make sure and request a woman but I forgo to do so. The place itself is not too big and everything is kind of on each other. I had to wiggle around a lady getting her haircut to make it back to the massage area. The massage itself was good and the guy who did it always asked to make sure pressure was ok. He worked on the areas that I requested and it was pretty good. I used a crowd savings voucher for 29 bucks I think (it said it was regularly like 69) so for that amount I will give it 3.5 stars. I would never pay full price for a massage again though considering there are tons of groupons and other discount merchants to find good deals.

I’m not a big reviewer on Unilocal,but this place seems to have gotten a bad rap here, so I wanted to offer a contrary opinion. The bad reviews seem to be related to the hairstyling, and in fairness to those reviewers I did not use the hairstyling services so I can’t comment on the quality. However, my wife and I did both have a very enjoyable experience here.
We were visiting Tampa from out of town, so we were keeping an eye on Tampa groupons in advance of our trip. When we saw an offering for a massage and facial, we jumped on it. After we purchased two groupons, we saw the bad reviews here and were a bit nervous. Then when it was time for our appointment, we drove up to what appeared to be a single-​family home on a residential street. We didn’t quite know what to expect when we walked in. «A massage parlor inside a house? Hmmmmm…»
But when we walked inside, we felt much more comfortable. Inside, Serendipity is a well-​designed and furnished professional salon, with massage rooms off to the sides. The staff was friendly, courteous, and attentive. My wife had her facial first while I had my massage, and then we switched. As we passed by each other during the switch, she and I both smiled at each other and did a little high-​five, we were both very happy.
The massage was nice and relaxing. The masseuse asked questions about what sort of treatment we were looking for, inquiring about any particular locations we wanted to focus on and how much pressure we wanted. The massage was very relaxing and thorough, and it was obvious that the masseuse had good skills.
The facial was just as good. Several different treatments were applied, plus a steam and hot towels, facial and scalp massage, and pore cleansing (ouch! but gotta do it…).
The staff were well organized and on schedule and made us feel quite comfortable from the moment we arrived.
So again, I can’t offer any feedback on hair salon services (other than the fact that the facility was clean and inviting), but when it comes to their massage services, we’ll be back the next time we’re in Tampa.

I am a person that has been getting my hair colored/​highlighted for the past 15 years. With that said I have never been so disappointed in the service that I received at serendipity salon. To start with my friend went and got very light highlights in her hair and it looked amazing and much cheaper then what I pay normally. The hairdresser stated that when you get highlights they do not charge for a cut which sounds great. I proceeded to make an appt with the same lady and went on the 12^th of December. She was supposed to do highlight and lowlights, trim and of course style my hair, because style is always part of a trim/​cut. When I left it looked like she just died my hair but it was ok so I didn’t say anything. In the following weeks I was busy with a party I planned and all the holidays. After the new year I started to notice how BAD my roots were showing. On 14 January I proceed to call the salon and inform them how unhappy I was with the service. Yes I do understand it was a month later but I did not realize how bad the roots were until then. I had to leave a message because no one answered the phone at 11am. They called me back however I was unable to answer the phone due to work so I called back at 3 pm and had to leave a message again due to no one answering the phone. I received a call back from the owners husband at 5pm and this is when the complete disrespect started! I proceeded to tell him that I wanted to schedule another appt however I was concerned with the service o received. I told him of my dislike with how grown. out my hair was and that I have never in the 16 years that I have been getting my hair done. He informed me that they were a salon where you get your color done every 6 – 8 weeks, even for highlights. I corrected him. that it has only been 5 weeks and that at $ 120 for the service I paid I should not be coming back in 6 weeks for a touch up. He informed me at a month out all he could do is offer the special that they are running for $ 59 highlights and a cut. I do not need a cut I just had one 5 weeks ago!!! So he said ok we will do highlights and a style. Ummmm yes last time I checked when you get a cut, you get a style!!! But nice try!!! So at that point he just said he offered me. more than what he should of and I shouldn’t be upset but he didn’t understand the difference of growth because he is not a hair dresser at all! Also during this conversation he laughed, really that is just so professional. At this point I asked for the owner that is a hairdresser to call me back to discuss this. It has now been 5 days and I have not received received a call at all! I have gone to another salon who fixed the problem and looked at the work and said it should of been at least 2 months for the grow out I have. I have pictures of my grow out from serendipity and will also take a picture in one month of grow out from this other salon.

Unorganized! Unprofessional! today was my second time visiting serendipity, this first time was for a massage, which went okay. i liked that they had small cookies and chocolates in the waiting room. This time i went in for a facial i had booked, first they had the date wrong and then when i got to my 1:00 appointment the person i thought to be the manager thanked me for coming in early to do paperwork, and then asked if i knew my appointment was at 1:30…i told her it was fine and they i had time to spare. 45 min later the woman that gives the facial finally came out and brought me back for a chemical peel. I have never wanted, requested, or booked a chemical peel. I had a crowdsavings for 20% off a facial or peel, and they said there was no such thing. i had to pull it up on my phone and show them. Then they said they just don’t have time for that, even though that time and before the entire salon was completely empty.
so they booked they wrong dates, wrong time once we got the right date, and then gave me nothing and wasted my time, i’ve never left a salon so upset. I had been talking during the 45 minute wait (even though they were empty) with the manager and told her how horrible my week had been and that today i was looking forward to pampering myself and getting this facial. It was more than needing the facial at that time it became more about needing the pampering that day. i also think that managers as well as the clients need to be aware of what deals they post online, and pay more attention while booking appointments. A day at the spa should never end like that. Needless to say i will not be coming back for any cookies!

Do not go to this saloon. Heidi is very rude and talks bad about the customers in front of other customers and holly is very inexperienced and gives a bad cut and when she colors your hair it will feel like straw. I had to pay another saloon $ 72 to condition my hair and recut or fix my bad cut. I had chunks missing and my cut was uneven. Save your money and your hair and do not go to this hair saloon.

I have not been to this salon yet, but I will be going on Feb 2. I will be sure to post a review of my cut, style, and color.
The communication is not good. I am from Chicago and purchased a groupon for Hair by HP, (apparently part of Serendipity) since I visit Tampa every 3 months. Before I purchased the groupon, I made sure to call and ask questions, my specific question was: Can you style my hair in curls with a flat iron and is this included with the groupon as the style. They said Yes, so I went ahead and purchased the groupon.
I recently have been playing phone tag since no one ever answers the phone there, so I asked them for their email so I can ask my questions and send some photos of what I wanted via email. They said no problem to email. So I emailed very specific questions/​concerns: (copied from my email to them)
1) can you style my hair with curls with a straightener? (with a
curling iron the curls fall out, with a straightener my curls lasted me
three days). Before I bought the groupon I called to make sure you could
style it like that, and the answer was yes, but I’m just verifying this
one more time.
2) I need this style to last for 3 days due to a formal night on a
cruise
3) is there any extra cost associated with doing the highlights
different than a full head (as pictured in attached photo)?
4) when should I do my full head dye with the ion color so the
highlights take really well?
I also added 3 photos to the email since I live in Chicago, I thought the photos would help so they know what kind of hair I have and how I want it colored, and how I want it styled. I have difficult to work with puerto rican type hair which takes color really bad, and it was imperative that they answered my questions. This is the response I got AFTER i left them a comment on their facebook page…
«My recommendations, are to come in the salon so the stylist can give you the best estimate and the best professional recommendations for your hair in person.

WHAT?! THAT DIDN’T ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS. I emailed them back asking if they even read my email, it states very clearly that I live in Chicago and only visit Tampa once every 3 months. I’m guessing they don’t want my business as they don’t want to take the time to answer questions.
I was looking for a permanent place to do my hair for my visits to Tampa, but it sounds like this place just doesn’t have enough time to answer questions or just doesn’t care enough to want my business.
I will write an updated review pending the outcome of this. I’m due to have my hair done Feb 3, 2013.
UPDATED: SALON RESPONDED BY SAYING «WE ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO SATISFY YOU, SO CALL GROUPON AND GET A REFUND»
SO, if you have a GROUPON, they may not like dealing with groupon customers who have ETHNIC hair that is dyed.

Serendipity Salon is as good as it gets. This beautiful salon has recently been remodeled and offers a quaint and comfortable atmosphere and top of the line service. I have been going to the Salon owner, Heidi, for years and would never go anywhere else! Her service is amazing, she is probably one of the most talented stylists I’ve ever gone to (and I’ve lived in major cities and paid top dollar), and ever visit is like going to see a friend!
I’m excited to try out some of the new services now being offered and will report back when I do!
