Stacy’s Gluten Free Goodies

Stacy’s was one of the first gluten free shops to open up in Tampa. Many years later this place still has got it all. I’ve popped in for quick orders and catering, all been great experiences. Would love to see a little more diversification of product offerings and flavors ready in shop (you can always make special orders) but all in all great to have a reliable, tasty go to place!

Sigh, I really wanted to like this bakery. The cashier was pretty nice and informative but that was the only good thing that came out of this experience. I ordered a banana muffin, a red velvet cupcake, cinnamon rolls, and a strawberry muffin. Out of the 4 items I tried the only thing I didn’t throw out were the cinnamon rolls. Everything was off, the taste, the texture, and even the price was pretty high for gluten free sweets. They should really look into doing away with refined sugars because that’s all their products tasted like. If you’re looking for quality gluten free products and you’re in the Philadelphia area stop by Sweet Freedom Bakery and experience the real deal!

Very nice to see a vegan bakery! It is also gluten free. I am a vegetarian but prefer to eat vegan most of the time. Finding a vegan bakery in Tampa has proven difficult. The good: chocolate cupcake with dark chocolate icing and the no peanut butter cookie, they use sun butter and it tastes just like peanut butter. We did not like the snores cupcake or the chocolate chip cookie-​too dense. We will definitely come back to try other stuff.

Fantastic allergen-​free bakery in the Carrollwood area. We have been many times as we have a peanut-​free and treenut-​free house. Stacy’s doesn’t disappoint.
Desserts look good and taste great. Service is friendly and helpful. Prices are as expected for a specialty bakery.

If you have food allergies and want sweets Stacy’s is THE place to go!!! I have order birthday cupcakes and cakes and they were so delicious! Her store is gluten free, egg free, dairy free and nut free! I don’t know how she does it, but everything is delicious! When you go to her store you have to try the Gingerbread cookies! They are so delicious and even have icing between the cookies! She also has a Cupcake of the Month each month and they are always delicious! She even has bread and frozen pizza dough to make homemade pizza, One of my other favorite deserts she makes is her Carrot Cake! No one can tell that the cake is gluten free (and actually free of a lot of ingredients)! They did not believe me when I said it was gluten free and egg free! I love this store!

LOTS OF SWEET SWEETS = Whether it’s the Cookies or the Cupcakes, I love how flavorful, moist, and dense they are. No one will guess they are gluten-​free. But as others have mentioned – the frosting is VERY SWEET! It’s also very dense – almost hard – not creamy.
There’s a couple little tables to enjoy your goods at the location (Aiiii but there was no water available and these pastries made us very thirsty) although most people grab and go.
DECENT VARIETY = Most of the items in this shop revolve around Cookies and Cupcakes although there were also some Bread, Pizza Crusts, Pancakes, and Coffee up for grabs. And of course you can call in special orders such as Cakes (we had our birthday one created in a couple days AND they made it gluten /​dairy /​egg /​nut free).
PRICES = I thought the prices were very appropriate and fitting. Cupcake prices were actually similar to regular Cupcake shops (except the sizes here are a tad smaller) while the rest of the goods were similar to ‘nice café’ prices.

I was so excited to find this bakery. Being vegan it’s been hard to find a bakery that my family and I would like. I ordered a red velvet Minnie Mouse cake for my daughter. Stacy did and amazing job with the cake. It came out perfect! Stacy free handed everything so I am very impressed. The red velvet cake was delicious. My guests loved the cake and was amazed that it was vegan. I’ll be ordering my son’s birthday cake soon. Thank you Stacy for putting a huge smile on my daughter’s face she loved her Minnie Mouse cake.

I was SO excited to have a gluten-​free bakery w/​in such a close proximity to my home. Unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed w/​the quality of the cookies I bought. As a matter of fact, I still have 3 cookies in a container in the refrigerator from 7 weeks ago! I am a total sweet tooth, which should tell you, I wasn’t that impressed! I will continue to order my gluten-​free goodies from Gluuteny in Squirrel Hill, PA & pay to have them shipped! They ARE THAT good that it’s worth the time, money & effort to have them shipped from the Northeast!

If you live in Tampa, are suffering from a sweet tooth and aren’t down with the dairy it can be very difficult to find something decent to satisfy your craving. There is the carrot cake at Trang Viet and… well, not much else. About a year ago I started hearing rumblings about this small bakery right up the street from me called Stacy’s Gluten Free Goodies. Stacy’s offers a variety of sweets all slathered with a giant sized side of NO. I’m talking no gluten, no wheat, no eggs, no dairy, no soy and no nuts. My assumption was that these «goodies» would also have another no, as in no taste. So I avoided the shop until one day, in a fit of sugary panic, I glided in and asked for a vanilla cupcake with raspberry icing.
The cake was a bit heavy, not the light fluffy thing that you get when you load it up with milk and eggs. It was also very moist. I’m talking to the point where I had to lick my fingers when I was done because the cupcake left behind tracks. This isn’t normal for a lot of vegan baked goods as they tend to be overly dry.
My overall impression of the dessert was that it was a decent cupcake. Aside from the moistness, the cupcake had a nice flavor. It was not too sweet. It was, however, not perfect. That was the fault of the icing. I know from my own experience that vegan icing is one difficult art form to perfect. It either ends up too runny or too sugary. I need something in the middle. Stacy’s icing was way too sweet for my liking.
I’ve returned to Stacy’s a few times since then and I keep going back to the iced items (they look so damn good). But every time I take a bite I immediately hear Helmet’s «Aftertaste» blaring in my head («I let you down again»). There was the ginger snap sandwich cookie with icing that I had a brief fling with. I loved the ginger and applesauce flavor of the cookie, didn’t love the icing overkill. Then there was the strawberry shortcake cupcake. The strawberry filling and cupcake were great together, the icing like a third wheel that chilled the vibe.
My favorite Stacy’s item to date has been the blueberry muffin. It was super dense and moist and had a nice crumbly top that was extremely flavorful. And there was no icing on it. Coincidence? Probably not.
I’ve had the perfect vegan dessert. Stacy’s is not it. But that doesn’t mean that Stacy’s can’t satisfy my sweet tooth. It just means that if I’m not careful (and diligent and militaristic and steadfast) Stacy’s will over satisfy any sugar craving I can possibly muster. Stick to the non-​iced items my friend.

My incredible staff got me a Gluten-​free, dairy-​free cake for my birthday yesterday, and all I can say is WOW!
The cake was a bi-​layer of chocolate cake and vanilla cake separated by and surrounded by some of the best icing I’ve ever had. A few people tasting the cake thought the icing was a little sweet for their tastes, but were blown away that the cake was GF and vegan.
Can’t wait to go back and try some of the cupcakes, especially the red velvet, as we always have GF options for our family and guests and birthday parties and family get togethers.

Having recently gone gluten free, I was excited to try Stacy’s Gluten Free Goodies. My children were having a Valentine’s Day party in school and I knew that I’d have to come up with an alternative for the treats that they’d be getting in school, so I headed over to Stacy’s. They had a wide variety of Valentine’s Day cupcakes, cookies, cakes and other assorted baked goods. I chose 6 beautiful cupcakes and a 4 pack of pre-​made gluten free pizza crusts. Those items cost me $ 20 exactly. A bit pricey, but I understand why. It’s hard to create a completely gluten free environment where cross-​contamination can occur and it’s a small locally owned business and I like to keep my money in my community.
My kids tried the red velvet, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. My middle child is the vanilla lover and while she liked the cake part, she wasn’t a fan of the frosting. My other two loved it all. The pizza crust was interesting. It was pre-​baked, and then frozen, so we had to defrost them, and then dress the pies and heat them up. They didn’t brown, which I wasn’t expecting so that threw me for a loop, but then I recalled the loaves of bread they had for sale and none of those were brown either, so I figured it was a no-​gluten thing. They tasted fine, not like what we were used to, but they were good and the kids gobbled them down.
I’ll continue to use Stacy’s for special occassions; birthday cakes and the like. If you are gluten free and in the Tampa area (they are off Cross Creek near Cory Isles) you should certainly check them out!
