Inn On La Loma Plaza

Definitely a perfect place for a weekend getaway. They offer gourmet breakfast every morning, and snacks in the afternoon. Very quiet and romantic place for couples looking to get away. I love the antiques in the main common room /​lobby. You can also borrow DVDs to watch at night with a nice fire going in your room. And enjoy the hot tub in the morning or evening. I would come back to this place again.

My husband and I are returning from Taos and we stayed at the Inn. I have never stayed at a B&B, so I was not sure what to expect. Jerry, and his wife run this historic beautiful inn in what can only be described as equal parts efficency and hospitality. We stayed in a newly added penthouse, which was gorgeous and included a large jacuzzi tub and walk in shower with multiple shower heads. The refridgerator is stocked nicely with water and soft drinks, as well as a variety of k cups for the keurig. The main house was charming and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and will not disappoint. During the day, there are refreshments and snacks available. Jerry is very helpful in assisting with reservations and providing information and suggestions about the area. The inn is two blocks away from the plaza, so there is no need to drive unless you are headed out on an adventure. The staff is very professional and super accomodating. You will fall in love with Lacey, the inn’s resident springer spaniel. It is a great balance of warm hospitality and privacy. It is obvious that Jerry and Peggy take great pride in their inn. We would most definitely go back. Enjoy!

I took a big leap of faith purchasing 2 nights here. without my hubby knowing. for our 4^th year wedding anniversary.
Neither of us had been to Taos. and not knowing the area we felt like we were on an adventure leaving Colorado and trying this place out.
We are both so glad we stayed here… we are already thinking of planning another trip! We just loved everything from the warm, friendly atmosphere. to the quaint (and might I add quiet) little room (we had «Georgia’s room»)
We fell in love with the owners sweet dog, Lacey… she’s a love.
We enjoyed meeting Jerry and getting his advice on the best local margaritas — to the best food in the area. We later met Peggy… and oh yeah. she can cook! Each morning breakfast was delicious.
We had a little mishap when our tv stopped working and within hours a new, flat screen was put in our room!
I do admit previous phone conversations with Peggy made me leary about whether I had made the right decision. but knowing that it is a small operation, and that they live, breathe, eat and sleep this place. I understand that they really make a better impression in person and as your hosts.
My hubby and I loved Taos and cannot picture going back and not staying here. Well worth the money I paid for the wonderful experience.

I purchased a travelzoo voucher to use here but in dealing with the owner over the phone several times I would rather throw away the three hundred dollars I spent than spend time here. He comes across as an arrogant unfriendly — — — -. My friend who was going to meet me here got the same response when she called. I own my own business and I pride myself on customer service so I KNOW how customers are to be treated. They are very unaccommodating and it leads me to believe that it would be no different if we stayed here. Don’t give these people your business! Spend your cash on someone who wants and appreciates your business.

My wife and I loved it there, we could have stayed a few more days easily and be totally happy. Jerry the owner was super helpful all the time, from the moment we checked in till the minute we left. Breakfast was ok, the fritata could have been better, and I wanted more of the smoothie, but overall, we would recommend it to all our friends, and we want to come back one day!

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary this year and had a great time. Jerry and Peggy are a hoot. They are very knowledgeable and interesting people. You can read on the walls in the dining room about their political pasts, which is very interesting. They readily speak about the past, family and life, which made us feel like we were visiting Uncle Jerry and Aunt Peggy.
We stayed in a studio called the Spanish Colonial, which was great. The bed slept well and the place was freshly appointed (I typically don’t love B&B’s because they tend to be musty). The room was less than kid-​friendly, but I didn’t really expect it to be toddler proof.
The best part about the stay had to be the included breakfast though. The typical breakfast included a full continental breakfast plus a plated meal that had an egg dish, a breakfast meat, a fruit side and a fresh fruit frappé. The coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice were very good. Plus, the portions were perfect and the quality was certain. My wife and I really enjoyed the breakfast and looked forward to the morning because of it.
The staff helping Jerry and Peggy are fantastic too. Ask the groundskeeper about her journey, it’s an uplifting story about emigrating from Hungary to the US. And the cooks and housekeeping help are very sweet too. We felt like family and would really enjoy going back.

I worked on a celebrity TV show for a while, spending about a hundred nights a year on the road. So I have a bit of experience with hotels and resorts.
The Inn On La Loma was quite a surprise. It’s a historical landmark but has modern wiring, wifi and instant hot water. The room we had was perfectly appointed… comfortable seating, firm bed and cold refrigerator. This stuff matters.
Location, location, location! A couple of blocks from the famous Taos Plaza, just down the street from the Harwood Museum.
And of course, its run by great people. You will not be a stranger.
One note, there are stairs to negotiate but that’s the price for a stay in the mountains.

My wife and I stayed here in July/​August of 2012, when we were vacationing in Taos and also attending a wedding of a college buddy. I found this bed and breakfast to be fantastic. We stayed in the «Carey’s Studio» room, which is a rather large studio — probably 700 – 900 sq. feet. The owners are fantastic, and are very sociable. They encourage the other guests to socialize with each other around breakfast — and I found everyone to be very nice. The B&B is near all of the sites you would want to see in the Taos area, and is not too far from the Colorado border. Overall, you can’t go wrong staying here.

I’m not sure about the name… there is another listing by the same name, but it has a different phone number and address. Website lists this information but also calls itself «Taos B&B» so who knows.
Anyway, we stayed here on our honeymoon. We were greeted right away by Peggy, the owner. She and her husband have had quite the interesting political history– both serving as councilmen/​women in Vail/​Avon CO before moving to Taos to start up their B&B. They are very kind and gracious, and you feel like you’re staying in their home.
We stayed in the Happy Trails room. Western themed is not my first choice, but it was nice. We also had a beautiful private patio thing that I loved to sit and read on. The room was very clean and fresh, and we had our own fireplace (not that we needed it).
The owners were very knowledgeable about things to do around town (as you’d expect) and they definitely made our stay a great one. I’d absolutely love to come and stay again!
