Tuscany Bistro

Specials all sound very interesting and it’s hard to choose. The short ribs melted in your mouth and portions are generous. The only comment I have is if you are making tasty food, why would you serve box pasta? I think if the mains had fresh pasta I would I have given it another star!

Tuscany Bistro is an excellent restaurant with fantastic service. My wife and I learned of the Bistro through a Journal News article and certainly highly recommend dining there after a wonderful meal with friends. Owners Bianca and Luigi are warm caring people that take a personal interest in all of their guests. Organic poultry and meats combined with farm-​to-​table fresh produce is a central theme to their management and very evident in the freshness and wonderful flavors of their food. They offer a broad array of regular entrees and specials at reasonable prices. Additionally, there was a very talented singer performing Frank Sinatra and other songs. It was a great evening.

This little Italian spot is within walking distance from my house so of course we felt inclined to check it out since we use to live in NYC and are all about walking to restaurants.
There are a few tables and the bar on the main level but I definitely recommend sitting upstairs on the second level it is much more quaint and Italian feeling!
We started off with a couple cocktails — DH had a dirty martini and I had a cosmo, neither were anything to write home about. Then we started with the antipasto for 2 as an appetizer and it was pretty good (some sauteed shrimp, mussels, baked clams, stuffed mushrooms). The app had a white wine sauce that was great for dipping and soaking the bread in! We then decided to continue celebrating our new home with a bottle of Sangiovese which was decent and one of the cheaper bottles @ $ 26. For our entrée’s DH had the homemade lasagna and I had the rigatoni with meatballs. The lasagna was good, my DH gobbled it up but my rigatoni was real mushy and the meatballs were tiny (not the huge ones I thought I was going to get) but they were a decent tasty/​flavorful ball.
Prices are reasonable (cheaper then what we are use to) and the host is a little full of himself and his Italian roots about how good his food is (minus 1 star for cockiness and not living up to it).
Didn’t get desert because we had to stumble home to catch up on some tv. Although not great, it is average and we would come here again without a doubt. It’s still better than your local Olive Garden Italian.
