A friend and I tried a new place in downtown Tarpon. A small building located next to a large school. It was around 1:30 –2 when we arrived. The hostess was very welcoming and quickly directed us to our booth. My friend ordered a gyro and I ordered the whole belly fried clams platter. The wait was short and our meals arrived hot. His gyro was generously stuffed with lamb patties and all the good that comes with a nice sandwich. My clam platter was well presented, the clams, for the most part, were tender and not overly breaded. The fries were bland and didn’t compliment the platter. The service and attention of the staff was more than I could’ve hoped for. Definitely another trip to Jimmy’s in the future.

Well, I had to up my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Went to Jimmy’s last eve(had the awesome whole belly clams again) and we had Jimmy’s wife and daughter waiting on our table, and received 1st class treatment from both. It’s definitely a family endeavor, and they have their act together. Please continue to support this wonderful dining area in the Tarpon Spring area. It’s an amazing dining experience!!!

The food was excellent and highly suggest it to anyone in the neighborhood. Almost everything is made fresh and you can really tell by the taste. I got the eggplant and it was delicious. Everyone is very friendly and will start to talk to you. Plenty of seating and very enjoyable.

We were in town visiting for 2 nights. We ate at Jimmy’s on the first night and the food was so good and the owners and staff so great that we decided to eat there again on the second night! My husband had the grilled octopus on both nights and I had the white spinach pizza on the first and the seafood au gratin. We also had the Greek salad(it is served on a potato salad) and the Clam chowder. All excellent! Most of the patrons knows Jimmy, his wife and daughters. Neighbours stop at other tables and talk to each other. A true neighborhood restaurant. I wish we had such a special place close to us. Well done guys and keep it up!

We stumbled on Jimmy’s last night while driving around Tarpon Springs. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. Inside, it’s clean, but bland diner décor. No worries, though, as the service was prompt, and the food quick & delicious. They seemed a bit slow(guest count only) for a Saturday night, but since it was also Halloween, I wasn’t concerned. And because of that, we had our server’s undivided attention. I started with a sangria, and ordered a bacon calzone for my meal. Hubs was in a gyro mood, with cole slaw, and added a side of potato salad. My calzone was huge — I could only eat half. I will never say the words, «too much cheese», but this was pretty amazingly close, in the BEST way. The dough was very fresh, and perfectly baked — no tough edges. Hubs ate his whole gyro, after sharing a couple of bites with me. That lamb was delicious! I would possibly order that myself next time, if I don’t get another calzone, or try their white spinach pizza. And I must mention their potato salad because, to me, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’m picky with my potato salad — I don’t want a lot of crap in it — this one kept the extras at a very light balance to the potatoes. Quite excellent. We will definitely be back to Jimmy’s, although, I do wish it was closer to home!

I loved Jimmy’s…its a true«mom and pop» style restraint. Currently only giving 4 stars because the family didn’t seem to like their dinner as much as me. My fresh clams(belly’s) were outstanding. My son ordered Grouper, but received chicken. But shame on him, he did not say anything until on the way home? I am looking forward to going back and hopefully being able to update to a 5 star. Everyone was so friendly and I just love supporting non chain restaurants. Small things like the boxing up our left overs(there was plenty form the very large portions) with a very positive attitude. I will be trying the grilled octopus next time for sure! I won’t hold being Pat’s fans against the owners… otherwise, great people running a great restaurant :)

Jimmy’s far exceeded our expectations. The concept of a pizza joint, Greek restaurant with seafood options was almost too much. But the owner, and father of Jimmy, the restaurant’s name sake, greeted us with open arms, quite literally. He explained that everything in the restaurant is fresh, all the seafood is fresh and everything is homemade. He’s been in business, at this location, for 30 years. He must be doing something right! We will be back again and again and again. Try the whole belly clams. They were phenomenal! And I think I could eat the homemade tartar sauce by itself. The homemade marinara that was served with our bruschetta appetizer was another item that I could just spoon up and eat with no accompaniment. I love the grilled octopus. It’s something a bit different from normal American taste standards. But there’s a smoky acidity to this tender octopus that almost makes it like a marinated steak. It’s really indescribable. You just have to try it. Warning! This is a large meal. You do have the option of ordering it as an appetizer so your group have an opportunity to try it if you aren’t familiar. Finally, the homemade cheesecake was very good. However, the strawberry and raspberry sauce that is placed on top is something I could eat as a dessert on it’s own. Wow, it was good! Nick, the owner and a wonderfully nice Greek man married a talented Italian woman. This is where this odd fusion restaurant of sorts came about. Nick’s son Jimmy, you will find cooking behind the open, diner-type window. Check out the pic that I posted of them. This is a restaurant I am so happy I took a chance on. I can’t wait to go back to see Nick and Jimmy and paste the wonderful things they have to serve. By the way, this restaurant is located quite near Fred Howard Park. Go have a day at the park and then finish up with a fantastic dinner.

This is just the kind of neighborhood dive that I love. Extremely friendly owners, staff and service. The Greek salad was excellent, with tomatoes that were out of this world. Unfortunately, the chicken in the excellent lemon soup was stale and old, as were the crackers. The broiled grouper was undistinguished, but fresh.

We have been going to Jimmy’s a couple times per month for some time now and have enjoyed EVERYTHING we have ordered. But once i had the Mediterranean Shrimp here, I was permanently«hooked» on the über fresh seafood served at Jimmys. Believe me, you can taste the difference and this family knows to cook it, serve it and make people happy. So, yesterday, hubbie finally decides to have the grilled octopus. OMG! We have eaten grilled octopus at just about every other place that serves it in the area, and none of them could hold a candle to Jimmy’s version. I have also had Mediterranean Shrimp at other restaurants and Jimmy’s is the best, IMO. Even the dinner salad with their house dressing is a cut above the ordinary. Even though there’s no craft beer on tap here, i can make do with a carafe of their own recipe of KILLER sangria. One of these days i hope to have room for Jimmy’s own cheesecake!

Who said they don’t have great fried clams in Florida! Come to Jimmy’s! They are as good here as in Essex Mass. He doesn’t always have them, so call ahead. Definitely worth the ride!

The spinach pizza is to die for as is everything else on the menu. Today’s special was a mahi wrap with chipotle sauce and it was so much better than I ever expected it to be. I’ve also had the smelts as an appetizer and loved them. Let’s not forget the Greek chopped salad with potato salad underneath. Mmmm Overall this is a great place to eat. It’s affordable, it’s clean and the owners are so friendly. Jimmy’s has become the«go-to» place for my husband and I.

It was nice to see the family back in town once again. My wife loves eggplant so I told her lets see if Jimmy’s has it on their menu. Sure enough they did so we placed an order along with a calzone w/sausage for take out. Ready in 20 minutes when we arrived we were greeted by very polite and energetic staff waiting to take care of any of our needs. The calzone was amazing! From here it goes down hill. My idea of eggplant parmesan is layered eggplant with cheese with tomato sauce with a side of pasta. What we were sadden by was pasta with with no sauce with four pieces of soggy eggplant on top. There was enough sauce(way to thick) on top for about three bites. Cheese we won’t talk about that. Thank god for the nice size portion of sauce given for the calzone, we used it on the eggplant.

Jimmy’s is back to the original family owners. We had a thin crust pizza and a pitcher of beer. The beer was ice cold and the pizza was very good. We love a thin crust and this did not disappoint. A great neighborhood place.

We have been to Jimmy’s about 8 to 10 times now. We were there 2 nights ago and we’re taking friends there tonight from out of state. We’ve had salads, sandwiches, seafood specials and appetizers and key lime pie. NEVER disappointed.

A great atmosphere with family working out front and in the kitchen. The pizza, especially the spinach pizza, is the best in town. On a dinner visit we ordered fish that was outstanding and very reasonably priced. I wish we lived closer!
