History

Established in 1986.

Asian Pacific Adventures was founded in 1986 by photographer, art educator and sinologist Tovya Wager, whose fluency in Mandarin and fascination for China’s minority cultures gave birth to the company. In the 80’s we pioneered ethnic minority study trips in China for UCLA Extension Department of Arts. We recently organized a Mandarin Immersion study trip for Forest Hills Public Schools. We have arranged Mongolia to Siberia expeditions for historian Sandy Lydon, Bhutan Festivals for Principia College, and All Asia photo shoots for Outdoor Photographer Magazine, to name a few. We pioneered tribal and festival tours in Burma, India, China, Vietnam and Iran and continue to offer ground breaking trips throughout Asia.
