Great Minds Robotics

The wonderful people at Great Minds are my second family. Years ago, as one of their first six students, I had my initial introduction to my passion of computer science. Great Minds has come a long way from that tiny, family-​run apartment startup — seeing it now, you’d never imagine its humble beginnings. It is no surprise to me, though, that Great Minds has become the well-​loved, well-​oiled machine it is today. The management and employees do not just teach, but also form strong connections with their students. It is an understatement to say that Great Minds is transforming the lives of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of youths with grand potential for the STEM field. Largely due to the expert guidance and support of my Great Minds family, I am now on my way to study Computer Science at UC San Diego. I am but one success story out of many more, and I implore parents to do their children a favor by signing them up today!

Thank you Stan and Anna for your foresight, creativity and organization to develop a much needed STEM program which is hard to find elsewhere in LA, both public and private. Your robot class was recommend last year by my friend whose sons were already taking classes there. Luckily, I was prepared with a referral when my 7 year old daughter showed interest in building robots last summer. Plus, the Lego workshop is a great bonus for her affinity to tinker which is allowed and encouraged in the program, but gets her into trouble at school. I also appreciate your flexibility by adjusting and accommodating the needs of the students; particularly, the private classes with the added convenience of weekend schedule which is so helpful and less stressful for after school activity. Thank goodness for Great Minds Robotics!

I am a «Professional Hacker» by job title, so when I saw that there was a robotics school that my kid could go to less than ten miles away from our home in Woodland Hills I jumped at the opportunity.
I showed my son a few videos from the
page and his eyes lit up. I thought to myself «We may have a winner». After his first class/​demo my kid was hooked. As a «Geek Father» I must admit I had a tear (of joy) in my eye as well as he told me «Daddy I love it».
Speaking with Stan (the man) to get a feel for his «savvy» I was extremely pleased at his skill level and more importantly how he related with the kids in the classes.
The kids love Stan! I could barely get uninterrupted time to speak with him.
The kids were relentless with their enthusiasm for either completing a «Mission» or asking for a little help with their robots «code». This impressed me even more.
My son began his journey the beginning of Summer 2013, attending classes eight times a month. In that short amount of time he has gone from an interest in computers to developing code and furthermore being excited about it.
My sons enthusiasm spans even further from the classroom as (per Stans guidance for me and my kid begging me) I have purchased everything he needs to develop at home. With that being said, I have gone to my sons room on a few Saturday mornings to find my son NOT playing Xbox but instead programming on his laptop telling me «Daddy I almost completed this mission, look at this»!
If you are looking for somewhere your kid can learn skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives, I highly recommend that you enroll them at Great Minds Robotics. Neither you or your kid will be disappointed.

Great Minds is a fantastic program, and we are very grateful to Stan and Anna for providing such a fun and nurturing learning environment for our kids. Our kids have been going to Great Minds for over two years now. During that time, they’ve learned how to program, build and problem-​solve through robotics. They’ve also learned communication skills and how to work in teams — skills they apply in school and in everyday life. Great Minds has been a very positive experience for us and we have recommended the program to all of our friends!

Both my boys attend great minds and have been for over a year. My youngest (6) wanted to learn robotics and and when we had the tour they sold all of us. This is a great place for children to learn the fundamentals of programming in a fun and interesting environment. Class sizes are small and instructors are fantastic and attentive to each child. They are so engaged that they never want to leave!
