History

Established in 1997.

Established by James Ong, M.D., Heart Rhythm Specialists of Southern California (HRSSC) is the first medical institution in San Fernando Valley dedicated exclusively to the care of patients with arrhythmias. Its service area encompasses San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley.

At HRSSC, we endeavor to provide the most personable, comprehensive, and state-​of-​the-​art management for patients with arrhythmias. In our offices, patients are always attended to by their physicians, not by a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant. We offer a complete range of office-​based diagnostic studies as well as hospital-​based therapeutic procedures which are specifically tailored toward patients with irregular heartbeats. Our physicians diligently strive to stay at the forefront of their specialty through research and continuing medical education.

Business Owner

A board-​certified Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Dr. Ong has been performing complex procedures for arrhythmias since 1993. He trained at UCLA and Cedars-​Sinai Medical Center and began his practice in the San Fernando Valley in 1997, serving as the director of Electrophysiology at several local Regional Medical Centers. Elected as a Fellow of the prestigious Heart Rhythm Society in 2008, he is among the highest-​volume operators in the Greater Los Angeles area.
