She is the most sweetest person you will ever meet and I promise you will not be disappointed by her work. She’s very patient and will give you tips and her opinions on what will look good or not.
I can’t wait to work with her again!

I love this place! It’s always such a pleasure to have Crissy do my hair. She is very receptive to my personal preferences and style and is truly a fine hair artist.
I called her to set up an appointment and within 7 days of the phone call, she was able to accommodate me! I am so sad to be moving so far from her as I truly do not trust my hair with anyone else. She is skilled at what she does and will take the time to do a wonderful job. Yesterday I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut & colored by Chrissy G. I am not a huge review writing girl, but when I feel really compelled to do it I do! With that said, she is an amazing hair dresser. Totally fixed a cut I wasn’t happy with as well as giving me a great color. She really listened to what I was going for and took the time to vision with me in our consult! So happy to have found her! Definitely give her a try :)

Cannot say enough good things about my experience here. I had to break up with my hairdresser of 11 years when I moved to California and have been very wary of trying somewhere new but I was well overdue for a cut and highlight. After a solid hour of reading Unilocal reviews of every salon in the San Fernando valley, I finally decided on this place. My stylist was Christina and she was absolutely amazing. Her balayage is phenomenal and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come here. Highly recommend.

I have been seeing Christina at Michael Joseph Furie salon for the past 2 years. It took me a long time to find someone to work on my curly hair. I like that Christina keeps my hair natural looking with beautiful highlights while not damaging the curls. Thank you Christina for your attention to detail and great work.

Lisa the owner is amazing!!! I wanted a specific color and made an appointment with another stylist however unforeseen circumstances caused the original person to be out that day. She considerately texted me to let me know but I explained I need to keep the appointment and if there was anyone else who could help. Lisa. Who is the co owner. Completely took me. Even with her booked schedule that day I explained what I wanted and she said «we will make it happen» I was so grateful she assisted me and she knew exactly what color I wanted. Even more than I had originally explained. She was amazing. Very professional and efficient. I am definately going to see her again and refer other people as well. Thank you

This place is great! I called and got an appointment for the same day, which was very convenient. I got Christina as my stylist and I can’t say enough about her. She was warm, friendly, and very skilled with cutting and styling my hair. I came in with really long, damaged hair that hadn’t been cut in ages. She knew exactly what to do and taught me how to do some easy styling at home. She has kids and understands the lack of time moms can have! Christina really gave me a great cut that frames my face and I couldn’t be happier for the price. Some things to keep in mind about the salon:
1. It is in a busy plaza. While there is underground parking, I went during the lunch rush and had to go find a meter. Not a big deal but something to consider time wise.
2. They accept credit cards but not for tips. They warned me on the phone, so I brought my checkbook and they will give you cash for whatever portion goes to tip. Again, I had no problem with that because they warned me, but keep it in mind if you’re a walk in.

Trish at Michael Joseph Furie Salon did my bridal hairdo for my November Winter Wonderland wedding. Her work is absolutely flawless, effortless and best of all, beautiful and quick. She is fun to talk to, calms you down when its necessary and gives you the look you envision in your head but might not be able to put into words. Trish is absolutely wonderful and my hairstyle lasted for days and was complimented by all. I loved every strand of my look from the time that I did my trial with her and on the day of the wedding. My mom who had never gotten a professional hairstyle for a special event was amazed and how she looked at the point where she tried to keep her look for as many days as she could. She is absolutely the best!!!

Never going back here. I had a Formosi gift certificate I’d bought and had to use. It included two different hair packages to be used at the salon on two different days. I used the first one and then made an appointment for the second and was also planning on using a discount they were offering to get a Brazilian blowout for $ 175, instead of the usual $ 350.
First, I have to say they were very accommodating– I wanted to get my hair done at the end of June and my gift certificate was technically supposed to expire at the beginning of June and they kindly accommodated my request to extend it till the end of June.
However, that is where the good ends. I was contacted a few weeks before my appointment by the girl who did my hair the first time, telling me she had since moved to a different salon and that she would give me the same discounts if I went to her new place. I was tempted but decided against it. I called Michael Joseph Furie to ask what would happen about my appointment since no one had called me to tell me this girl had left and the receptionist says, «we were just about to call you.» It was all I could do to not roll my eyes at the ridiculousness of her comment.
So I made another appointment with Amanda, another Formosi girl and explained that I was leaving the country to go overseas the day after our appointment. Long story short, I went to my appointment and Amanda was lovely. However, I noticed immediately that this salon was not doing the Brazilian in the way I had read about on multiple websites and found out from friends who did the blowout too. I didn’t say anything because I figured she knew what she was doing.
After straightening my hair, she told me not to wash it for 24 hours or so. She then proceeded to do my haircut (which was the second part of my Formosi deal). I told her what I wanted– layers, but not to lose more length than I had to to get rid of damamged ends. She rushed through it and I didn’t feel that she’d done a proper job. She assured me she had and that I would see the layers when I washed and blow dried my hair.
I went home, followed her rules about washing but once I did wash it, the hair was frizzy and looked nothing like hair that has had the Brazilian blowout done. Also, the layers I had asked for were not there I asked all my friends who’ve done it and they said it looked like I’d been ripped off. I have colored hair and damaged ends and that’s why I’d asked for them to cut the damaged ends and also, I had read that the blowout was great for colored hair. I was leaving that night to go overseas so I called the salon and Amanda made it seem like it would be a huge problem for her to fix my hair to my satisfaction. I get it, she was busy and probably didn’t like that I wasn’t satisfied. I appreciate that she moved some things around and took me in.
When I showed her the frizzy hair and how it didn’t look at all like a Brazilian blow out had been done, she said that the frizzy hair would remain with the Brazilian but was just made better and less frizzy. I didn’t see that it was less frizzy in those areas and asked if anything could be done to fix it. She called over one of the owners for her opinion. This lady took one look at it, said that the frizzy-​ness was because I needed a haircut!!! When I explained that I had just done that with Amanda, she said, «Oh.» She then told Amanda to cut the damaged ends more. She recommended that I not add any more chemicals through another round of the Brazilian blowout ‘cos it would damage my hair. I was VERY disappointed but agreed that I didn’t want my hair damaged. I left the salon vowing to never ever go there again. I would rather have paid the $ 350 and gotten a proper blowout than this junk.
Good thing Blue Waters Salon in Woodland Hills is so much better. Try them and ask for Diane Donahue. She’s amazing!

Been planning to get my hair done in months and finally got mine today. Randomly thought about getting my haircut & color, called this salon as referred to by my friend and Jordan gladly set me up with a stylist! I’ve never really been completely satisfied with my hair until today. Liz has done a good job, absolutely followed what I wanted and truly made my first visit worthwhile! Everyone here are all looking fabulous and nice and you’re obviously walking out of the salon as gorgeous as them.

Liz Mihalovits is a miracle worker. My husband was having real trouble getting his hair color right. His previous stylist would dye it so it looked either orange or green in the sunlight. I made an appointment with Liz and she corrected years of bad dye jobs and gave him highlights so he has natural, youthful hair. Now he’s a real diva and demands regular appointments with his, «personal stylist,» all the time. We created a monster!
Liz has been my stylist for years, and is always my first call when I’m attending an event. Her blow-​outs are fantastic and her event makeup is real artistry. Thank you Liz!

Leslie Spaggiari is still doing exactly what I ask of her, and she is doing it perfectly. When I ask for it to be left long, she doesn’t cut too much off. And when I ask for it short, she it’s hesitant to chop it off. She is also mindful of skin color, face shape, and hair type if you are not sure what you want. Great hair dresser.

Crissy G is just an amazing stylist. My whole familiy goes to her. She’s corrected my mom’s hair, makes sure my hair is always amazing and I’ve referred her over to my extended family and friends when they ask me for a referral. I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s like family now and I wouldn’t think to go anywhere else but her.

I’ve been going to Brandy for about 2 years now and she is so awesome! I am always very happy with her work she is always available when I need her.
She has helped me get my hair back to being healthy and long when I first showed up I had over processed hair that had been fried!
now my hair is healthy and beautiful– I love it.

I’ve been going to Brandy for over a year now. I was referred to her by my friend Caitlin… Best referral ever! My hair had been black for about 5 years and I was so over it and asked several salons to change it to a reddish brown. They were actually afraid to touch my hair and unfortunately told me no. When I asked Brandy about it, she was so confident that not only could she change it without damaging it but that it would be the exact color I showed her a picture of as well. So she did just that!!! I cannot tell you how many times a day I get compliments on my color… It’s endless! Thank you so much B! XO

This place is amazing ! I recently found them on Instagram and loved a hair color I saw from one of the stylists. Christina A. Is so good at doing balayage I would definitely recommend! The place itself is clean & organized. From the outside, it looks like a relatively good size but when you walk in, it’s huge ! I love the atmosphere. Free coffee, tea, water & even bagels. What a plus! Prices are also very reasonable for all the services

I was so sad when I lost my former hairdresser — she knew exactly how to cut my hair! I searched for over 2 years for her replacement, but all I found were mediocre, expensive stylists who maybe gave me one good hair cut and then were never able to repeat that feat! …Until Chrissy!
She is beautiful and sweet and talented! She totally got the look that I was going for and gave me exactly what I wanted. Her prices are very reasonable… and I just loved her warmth… and the whole experience. Highly recommend!

I found this place by using Unilocal for local salons in my neighborhood. I saw some great reviews so I decided to take a chance since I wasn’t happy with my old hair dresser. The interior is huge and a lot is going on in there but it’s organized.
Crissy gave me a really flattering cut. Although the color was not what I was expecting, I came to like it after some time. It may have been my fault since I didn’t tell her exactly what I wanted and was being vague about it. Next time I will definitely tell her exactly what it is I want and use her coloring skills to the full potential.
Being my first time, I can tell that whoever you get there is going to make you feel welcome and like their best friend for however long they have you. This place has great customer service and I will be going back.

So I came with this crazy messy multiple shades of faded red hair that’s way long over due to get fixed. I wanted to change the color because let’s be honest, maintaining bright red hair is just too much.
So Christina Avalos was the unlucky stylist who got to work on my crazy hair. In my head, I literally felt bad that she had to deal with my hair lol But let me tell you, she’s freaking amazing! I couldn’t believe how pretty my hair got. From the ugliest orangey-​red to this beautiful dark to light brown color. I wish I had the before picture to show. And she’s such a sweetheart! She made sure I was feeling okay throughout the whole process (with the color correction process and such). I love that she takes time to really make sure everything was done the way I wanted.
I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair, I will definitely come back for her. Ask for Christina Avalos! You’ll love her as much as I do :)
