To give advice and explanations comfortable clean office and friendly staff Id highly recommend Dr Stomel he was amazing can’t go wrong here.
I even received a same day appointment.

This dentist has been really good to me over the years. Gentle and doesn’t push me into any extra services. Got a few crowns and he packed them with some special herbs while waiting on lab.

The review I’m about to give Dr. Stomel, is probably on par with the other reviews given here. 5 stars if you have a PPO insurance or paying out of pocket and less then 1 star if you have an HMO. If you are looking for a dentist and have an HMO dental insurance, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. In fact, I highly recommend you look elsewhere regardless.
On more then one occasion, Dr. Stomel has harassed me unprofessionally while I was having work done. He doesn’t like the fact that I have an HMO insurance and claims he will not do some of the work I need (crowns) if I continue to see him with my insurance. Um… your the one who accepts my HMO insurance. You’re the one who receives a check every month from the insurance to have my whole family on your roster.
In the year and a half I saw Dr. Stomel, he did not take one x-​ray of my teeth or my kids during cleanings and exams. He himself did the cleanings, not a hygienist and without exaggeration spent 3 minutes scraping my teeth to a bloody mess during my last cleaning. 3 minutes! Time is money!
I have had several appointments cancelled last minute and was told by him that he will bump an HMO patient from an appointment to see a non HMO patient because it is more money for him.
I will be filing a grievance with my insurance company. Unfortunately for Dr. Stomel, HMO patients have rights, he’s now going to get notified.
Stay Away!!!

Had my first official appointment with Dr. Stomel today. Had an appointment scheduled for February 28^th but they called and cancelled the same day about two hours before. Supposedly there was a rain issue. I didn’t think anything about it, just rescheduled and was ready to be seen. When I was called for appointment confirmation on Monday, I was told/​heard Friday at 1:30. I arrived a bit late (5 minutes — completely my fault and I came in contrite and apologetic). The lady at the front told me my appointment was at 12:30 and that I needed to reschedule. I informed her that not only was I told 1:30 but when I called back to confirm, I stated that I would be there at 1:30. Long story short, they refused to let me wait for another availability the same day despite my obvious pain and willingness, refused to take X-​rays of me because my «insurance doesn’t cover X-​rays and overall told me that I would not be seen until I was able to bring in my X-​rays. Now, I’m not a genius or anything but if someone is willing to wait to be seen, a good dentist would at least make an effort. The lady at the front was rude, rolled her eyes at me, refused to let me talk to the dentist and talked to me like I was incapable of understanding basic English.
After calling DeltaCare to complain, I was thankfully switched to another Dentist effective today. YAY!!!

was not impressed. A bit snobby. Right to the point which is good. Office was very dusty, not very clean and the equipment was out dated.

I have been a patient of Dr. Stomel for several years. Recently our insurance was changed by my wife’s employer and I was initially pleased that Dr. Stomel was on the list and I would not have to change dentists. I recently broke a tooth and called to inquire what my cost would be for a crown. I was told by the receptionist that the procedure was not covered and my cost would be around $ 700. After reviewing the list of coverage provided by the insurance I noted that the procedure WAS covered with a co-​pay of $ 225. When I called back to clarify the discrepancy I was told by the receptionist that Dr. Stomel told her to tell me to call my insurance company and have them recommend someone to do it for that price. Needless to say I will not be returning to this dental office.

Dr. Stomel is very patient, kind, and extremely knowledgable about dentistry. He will give you insights about your mouth that you’ve never thought about before! After our appointment today, I felt more educated about how to care for my mouth, and while he was going through our check-​up and cleaning, everything was very gentle and soothing. I have been going to Dr. Stomel for many years now, and I’ve always had extremely positive experiences. If you need a dentist in the valley, definitely go to Dr. Stomel, I guarantee you will be happy you did.

Very gentle, great communication and right to the point! Does not try to sell services that are not necessary for maintaining good oral health… kind of a first! Their office is clean and pleasant… no huge expenditures on the office setting, so no passed costs to the customers. A real plus!

Dr. Stomel is the best dentist I have ever had in my life. After trying multiple dental offices, I finally found one that I can rely on. The other offices just spend money on their office and making it look pretty. This office is simple and effective. All of his tools are top of the line and he really makes it easy when you’re in the «chair». I absolutely DREAD going to the dental office (doesn’t everyone?) but for some reason, I feel calm and at ease when he’s working on my teeth. He tells me when it will hurt and for how long and really makes the whole process a simple one.

Dr. Stomel was my family dentist growing up here in the SFV. When I started teaching and had insurance, I went to a fancy «group» in Studio City until the school district limited my insurance and had to find another dentist. Fortunately, Dr. Stomel took my new insurance and am I glad. He fixed a lot of the mistakes made by the expensive group and my teeth are in better shape than ever. Yes, he is very gentle, quiet spoken and very serious about good dentistry. He’s an artist. Explains everything in great detail, gives you all the options, and doesn’t charge a lot. When my crown fell out a few months ago on a Sunday morning, he came in and reattached it. The office is simple because he spends his money on the newest technology, he loves his toys. I highly recommend him to anyone. In fact, I just did a few minutes ago!

Wow! A dentist that not only listens but actually doesn’t hurt! My teeth looked at least 3 shades lighter after my cleaning and the cleaning didn’t hurt one bit (even though I hadn’t been to the dentist in a year, which really had me worried) All around very attentive and thorough and he takes my insurance without any extra money out of my pocket! Excellent all around.

I was referred to Dr. Stomel by a mutual friend back when I lived in the San Fernando Valley. I stayed with him when I moved to Santa Monica and now from San Francisco, I still fly down for my appointments with the doctor. Being that I’m from Afghanistan and my childhood diet consisted mainly of «loose rocks and gravel»… the doc has had his work cut out for him, and he’s done an amazing job. It’s hard to find a sincere, trustworthy dentist, and he’ll be the first one to remind you of that fact, when he looks at previous work that has been done.

Nobody really likes going to the dentist. I have been through a few in my day and have had a very positive experience of the last several years with Dr. Stomel. Beyond the usual teeth cleaning, Dr. Stomel’s office always has some fancy new equipment to test the strength of my teeth, a camera to really show me how gross my mouth can get from improper care, etc. Great dentist, great guy… you will be happy.

Dr. Stomel was one of the Best Dentists I have ever been to in my entire life. I moved out to the valley from the Whittier area, and searched on google for dentists. I have now been to Dr. Stomel’s office about 8 times over the last 2 years for cavity work, cleanings and teeth whitening. He explains everything in detail. Very Smart. Has some cool technology that he explains as he uses it on you. Overall extremely friendly office enviroment, never feel rushed and just a great doctor.

The FRIENDLIEST dentist I have ever been too. Office environment is as relaxed as can be, and Dr. Stomel’s prices are exceptionally reasonable. I got my teeth ZOOM professionally whitened for CHEAP!
