In December 2015, Dr. Huddleston performed a total hip replacement on my left hip. I am 41 years old snd have studied martial arts 5 days a week for 35 years. For the past two years I was suffering from bone on bone grinding in my hip. The pain become unbearable and I needed it to be replaced. During my first visit to Dr. Huddleston he took almost 45 minutes explaining the hip joint, the procedure, the recovery, the components that are used, and several questions I asked. Having had several other orthopedic surgeries, I was not new to this, but was very impressed that Dr. Huddleston took a lot of time educating me. When I was scheduling the procedure and all the details with Rich, Dr. Huddleston’s assistant, my confidence in the outcome continued to increase. He said«we will fix the hip.» Simple words, but they provided the me with hope and eagerness to get better. The day of surgery was very smooth. Dr. Huddleston’s pre-op panel of medicine for pain and nausea worked perfectly and when I awoke from surgery I had no stomach issues like I had with my ACL reconstruction and my rotator cuff surgeries. The next morning I was up and using a walker to walk, albeit slowly, the hall of the hospital. Immediately I knew that my hip pain was gone. All the pain was from the actual surgery, not my joint. The next day I was using a cane, and a day after that I was back home. Seven weeks after surgery I feel better than I have in 5 years. I’m walking well, without pain, and I’ve started to be able to practice the basic footwork and exercises to get back to resuming my life as a martial artist. Moreover, I’m happier and more hopeful than ever. I owe a great debt of thanks to Dr. Huddleston and his staff. Realizing that someone is going to cut open your leg, saw your bone, and then jam some metal in you can be a daunting thought, but from day one Dr. Huddleston inspired nothing but confidence in me. I hope you never have to have hip replacement. It’s not fun or a walk in the park, but if you do need to I highly recommend Dr. Huddleston.

I’ve done a 180 on Dr. Huddleston. After a lot of pain I opted for knee replacement about a year and a half ago. The end result is as much pain as ever. And, I’m told my result is «perfect». If this is perfect it’s a new and different definition of perfect I’m not aware of. Because he’s attached to a hospital my co-pay is the same as for outpatient surgery…$ 100 per visit. That’s insane. I would not recommend this office, this doctor, or any doctor in this practice.
