Granfield Driving School

If ratings went negative, mine would be as low as it goes.
Classroom time was not half bad, I would rate my experience (again, for the class) with two stars. But, the man who does the classroom instruction is the man that you (or your child, depending on who is reading this) will have to spend 12 road lessons with. And let me tell you, in class he makes jokes, he’s polite, and mostly nice, but that will soon change. (Although, he did yell at a few students for being late and hearing cell phones, but I do attribute that to DMV policies.)
Road lessons with him became something that I dreaded. I was honestly excited for road lessons when I started my drivers ed, but five minutes into the first one, I immediately knew that that next (at least) twelve weeks would be hell. He was extremely sexist (only talking when males were in the car), he did not care to let you know when you did something wrong, he literally taught me how to parallel park COMPLETELY wrong, he yelled, it was awful.
One plus was that you could almost always get another lesson for the very next week, he scheduled them at the end of the lesson while you were still driving. In comparison to what I’ve heard about making appointments with other schools, that was very nice. I personally never did this, but he does let you owe him money to an extent.
It wasn’t until a week before my road test that I first paralleled parked with my father, and let me tell you: HE WAS APPALLED. He taught me how to do it CORRECTLY. From doing it wrong so many times, I did mess up a bit on the road test, luckily though, the instructor was nice enough to teach me how to correct it and still pass me. Personally, I did not go in the company car for my road test, I went with my mom and passed like I previously said. But, everyone, I MEAN EVERYONE, I have ever talked to that went with Granfield for their road test, failed.
One time towards the end of my lessons, I was driving and he told me to bear left and said «Following the red car». There was two red cars and I became confused towards which left to take and which car to follow. So, I began to slow and asked «This left?» He completely ignored me, so I had to make a complete stop on a busy road while I waited for his reply. Annoyed I said «YES, NO, MAYBE?!» and he began to ask what my problem was and ONLY THEN began telling me every mistake I have ever made. He was yelling, and while I was taking a second to calm down (blinking back tears, may I add), he immediately started to ask me if I was ready to go.
He would constantly step on the breaks that he has in the passenger side, sometimes for no reason. I witnessed him yelling at another girl, because there was a car coming from the direction in which she was taking a left and she thought it was too close. He got annoyed and yelled at her to go. She was not doing this intentionally, she was honestly scared of the oncoming car and I would have been too.
If you have an option to not attend this school/​do road lessons with him, then I BEG YOU, PLEASE DO NOT. PLEASE. I really want students to realize that he will make your life miserable. Mind you, he is the only instructor that you will have. So, please. please. Please. PLEEEEASE, do not go here.
