History

Established in 1909.

The sale and repair of bicycles all started in Taunton with our grandfather, Amos Martin, in 1909. During World War II, my mother, Lena Travis, took over the business as all the men were called to military service. In 1965 a partnership was started between my mother and me (Joe Travis). That Partnership is still in full operation today and is what makes Travis Cycle what it is. In 1998 my son (Mark Travis) expressed interest in starting a second store in Brockton. Now, together, we are satisfying our passion for the sport of cycling. We continue to bring leading edge technology to southeastern Massachusetts with our electronic fitting cycle (the only one of its kind in southeastern Massachusetts) and our foot stabilizing Pod Scope.
