Expert Heating and Cooling was founded in 1975 to provide installation services, handling the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) needs of the customers. Serving the Downriver communities as well as the Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Monroe counties, the company provides a line of services, such as HVAC system maintenance, low pressure variable air volume (VAV) service, hot-water systems, building automation, indoor air quality solutions, air and water balancing. The firm uses the Infinity to control temperature, humidity, air quality, fan speed, ventilation.

Established in 1975.
Expert Heating and Cooling was founded in 1975. Bob Maharas and George Burns purchased what was then called Trenton Heating and Cooling, changed the name, and introduced to the Downriver communities a company that was focused on and promoted quality.
In 1993 Bob became the sole owner bringing his son Mike into the company. In 1997 Mike Maharas & Mark Angellotti bought the business. Several fortuitous events led to the 1st year revenues topping 1 million dollars for the first time in company history. A decision to serve the commercial segment of the HVAC industry fueled a significant portion of that growth. Mark went on be the sole owner.

Mark Angellotti purchased Expert in 1998. Angellotti was well aware of the growth potential having previously served as the Territory Manager for Carrier Great Lakes, Expert’s primary material supplier. Starting in a 2,400 square foot shop in Downtown Trenton, moving to a 4,200 square foot shop in Woodhaven while our newest building on Northline just west of Telegraph weighs in at a hefty 21,500 square feet. The result of these moves; business has expanded to serve a wider variety of HVAC needs across the Metro Detroit area. The company has transitions in the last 15 years from 99% residential replacement and service, to a mix of 55−60% commercial installation and service.
