Based off of other reviews, we were pretty disappointed with our meal. Pros: 1. Good sweet tea. 2. Warm chips. 3. Shrimp fajitas Cons: 1. Queso that mimicked tositos. 2. Guacamole from a package…(Why!!!) 3. Peas & carrots in the Spanish rice…(Again, why?!!) 4. Beef & chicken fajitas tasted like beer & tomato. 5. The flour tortillas were too thick, dense & chewy. I was born and raised in San Antonio, so I have a high standard for Mexican food. This was just maybe okay. For the Austin area it’s probably great(which makes me sad), but overall it was really meh. :(We just moved here though, so I feel like I have many sub-par dining experiences in my future.

Best breakfast tacos that I have ever had in my life. My coworkers are constantly asking for them. Owner is wonderful and very friendly. Chicken enchiladas are great too.

Love the fajitas, enchiladas and rice. The tortillas are great as well. Service is terrific. In my opinion much better than Mas Fajitas. The only thing Mas Fajitas has going for it is the margaritas.

My first time here was about 3 years ago and I wasn’t impressed. Came here tonight and I can already tell they’ve really improved the place. The chips and salsa were better than last time, the service was great and the food was good. This isn’t a five star restaurant but its a good value for the money. Definitely will be coming back again.

I grew up in Corpus Christi, Tx. Capital of the taquerias on every corner and I would go to this one place called Acapulco. Never has there been one better. My family moved to the Austin area about 5 years ago and granted there are some good ones. BUT! I haven’t had the same soft, thick, fluffy tortilla that Acapulco would produce. Most tortillas at the taquerias here are small, thin, chewy. On a whim we decided to drive to Taylor to try this 14 review, 4 star joint and holy crow!!! Am I glad we did it! If this place wasn’t the most perfect replica of what I I’ve been looking for I don’t know what is. Same tortillas, same consistency and flavor of the Carne asada, same chips and salsa. I was taken to a new place today. Makes me wonder if these folk up and move their entire business model to Taylor and didn’t bother to tell me! Like Nike says… Just Do It. You can thank me later.

I love this restaurant. It is comfort Mexican food. So delicious. The flour tortillas are wonderful and fluffy. The beef here is tender and delicious.

My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight for a few drinks and we had a great time! The service was awesome and the margaritas were delicious. Even though we told the wait staff we would only be having a drink or two they still brought us chips and salsa… And might I say – they were so yummy! Can’t wait to come back and try some great food!

When I moved to the area a year ago, this place was THEPLACE to go for good Mexican food. Now, new management(?) the food isn’t like it used to be. Greasy, blan. Service was crappy. Very slow and had a «could care less attitude.» Disappointing. Won’t go back for awhile. Hopefully it’ll go back.

If I want tortilla soup, Mariachi’s is the place I go. The chips are good and the menu is diverse. It is hard at times to get the waiter to your table, but it is something to overlook with such good food.

Let me start by saying I’m Mexican. I KNOW how good mexican food is supposed to taste. We went to this restaurant because we’ve heard is probably the best mexican restaurant in Taylor. If that’s the case, save your money and go to taco bell… At least you won’t pay so much for bad food. I ordered huevos rancheros and my husband ordered the chilaquiles. I KNOW the sauce they used for the chilaquiles came straight from a can because you can’t fake that awful taste! The beans were salty and greasy(do they cook with lard???) and my eggs were undercooked. YUK! Tortillas were awful, you will get better tortillas at HEB! The only good thing I tried were their potatoes. Coffee was weak and service was HORRIBLE. Our server never came back after bringing our food and even after we got one of the other servers to ask her to bring us our check, she took almost 15 minutes to come back! UGH! I don’t remember the last time I had bad service to match the bad food.

Stopped here on Mother’s day with my family — they were quick to be able to seat a party of 10! Great restaurant and pretty good food. Why would they not serve breakfast all day??? I am surprised I have never eaten here, been to Taylor many times over the last 20 years — though not sure how long its been there. Great Menudo and tacos and flour tortillas are yummy! The waitress we had(pretty eyes) was not the nicest, nor the most attentive — in fact she had a bit of an attitude actually but all in all the experience was great and we can always tip the right amount to justify the service. One small tip to train staff: «watch out the plate is really hot» plate — should not be put down in front of a 3 year old, but all in all — The food was awesome and that is what really counts. -

My family had dinner here on the 4th for my daughter’s birthday and the food was really good. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was so good, I had to eat it all before we left because I didn’t want anyone else to eat it if I took it home as a leftover. Can’t wait to go back.

My first time to try this restaurant and I ordered an authentic Mexican food. Their tripas is awesome and priced reasonably! Servers are also friendly!
