The studio is owned and operated by James Best Jr, a versatile American artist whose works have been exhibited in national publications, historical institutions and art galleries. Working in New Jersey and New York, James designs everything: identities, brand design, publications, posters, books, exhibitions, websites, brochures and products.

Business Owner

James is an expansively versatile American artist whose works have been exhibited in national publications, historical institutions and art galleries. Best earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from the prestigious Cooper Union Institute in New York City where he studied graphic design. Best founded his own graphic design company, First Class of Color, in 1994. His works include developing corporate identities, designing a stained-​glass window for a historical church, painting a mural on canvas and installing it in Marshalls retail store in Harlem New York. Currently, Best works at The New York Times where he is an art director for the Business section. He also shares his talents through speaking engagements at colleges, public schools and churches. He is an active member of Redeeming Love Christian Center, a patent holder and will be developing a new educational product in June 2013.
