Garner Heating & Cooling

These people have been out to my house three times. The first time, I asked them to look at my system because my husband was having difficulty fixing it. The kid told us we needed a part and we agreed. He told us the price and it was ridiculous. We told him that was a little steep — we would order it elsewhere but were more than happy to pay labor if he’d install it once it came. We did that and he installed it.
Our heater went out again two months later. I called and asked them to come out again and see what the matter was. They sent somebody else and looked at my heater. I told the guy about the part issue we had before and he went on about how it’s probably an issue because we ordered a faulty part. He finally retracted when I pointed out that my husband ordered it from the same place they do and it’s also the same one they use. Then the guy said that we needed to redo some of the heating set-​up in our house because it was building up too much moisture.
We agreed and he said to call and set up an appointment with them because it would be a longer process. Three months later and I’m still waiting on them to call me back and give me an appointment. It’s the dead of winter. I finally called a different company and they had a new heater (and a few new pieces installed) within 48 hours.
The cherry on the top of the cake was when we were out for a meal with the family and our booth was right up to another couple. They were talking about fixing the same parts over and over at a local business and essentially saying nasty things about some of their customers. Within a few minutes, my husband recognized the gentleman as the man who was at our house the second time. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to say something as we left but decided not to.
The professionalism is very much lacking.

Has to hound him about $ 100 of rebates from Consumers that he used to sell me on his services. Turns out he’s not certified to perform the work the rebates are for.
