Cammua Makeup School

I shopped around for weeks for a place to train for applying eyelash extensions. I ended up choosing Cammua and took the course yesterday in Temecula with Marylu.
It was a small class size, just me and two other girls.
Marylu was a very good instructor. She got right into it and went over everything like insurance, marketing, the business side of things ect., not just application of lashes. She also explained application, fills, removal very well and I learned a lot that I did not already know by doing my own research and watching hours of instructional videos.
We practiced on Marylu with the application of gel pads and tape and she made me feel very comfortable and confident.
We then practiced application on doll head /​practice strip lashes.
At the end you receive a beautiful certificate.
I left the course feeling very confident and I learned so much from Marylu and I do recommend taking this course.
I did not purchase a kit through CAMMUA.
The only negative I would have to say is — Gia told me over the phone (when I called asking questions before I booked the class) — you can legally do lashes from home, in a boutique salon of your own where the only service is lashes, or doing house calls. But that is not the case. The laws just recently changed and once we got to class Marylu explained that in depth. Luckily I had already done my research on my own but another student might be told that over the phone, book the lash class and think they’re all set. When in reality they have to take a 600 hour esthetician course to legally be able to apply lashes. So they probably shouldn’t tell people that over the phone — a little misleading.

I took the eyelash extensions class with Jax today. She’s phenomenal! I was nervous the whole time prior to arriving. I thought what all is there to know about putting on an eyelash … boy was I in for a treat. Jax was extremely easy going and makes you feel at ease. She’s very informative and passionate about what she does. She is patient and worked well with us to guide us and teach us the correct forum and techniques that makes you feel confident. Before going to lunch I felt as if maybe I bit off more than I could chew but once we did hands on she had me feeling ready to take over the world! I would highly recommend requesting her for teaching you. Gia owns the business and she’s been a pleasure to work with and definitely does her best to accommodate your schedule and needs. I am glad I found this school!

I took the eyelash extension class today with Jax and it was awesome. She is a great instructor. She is very thorough on teaching us what it takes to be successful at applying and removing eyelash extensions. She was super patient with us and made it fun. Going into the class I wasn’t sure what to expect but from the moment we started til the moment we finished it was worth every second. Although practice makes perfect, I left the class feeling confident. Thank you Jax, the class was awesome!
