Diamond Limousine & Transportation

Good lord.
A couple weeks ago I contacted Diamond via their website for a quote. What I asked for was straightforward: I communicated that I’d like a Town Car to transport me and my boyfriend from Marriott SpringHill Suites to the meet-​up location for our wine tour and then, later the same day, we’d need the car to take us back to the hotel.
According to MapQuest the one-​way distance of this trip is about 8 miles, a 12-​minute drive.
After a few hours a Diamond associate replied to my request and provided a quote… of $ 420 (before tip). What?! Even more puzzling than that astronomical figure was the fact that the associate explained that it’d actually be cheaper to rent the Town Car service for a full 7 hours at $ 60/​hour (per our quote); that way, we’d be saving $ 80 compared to if we hired the service for 2 separate point-​to-​point transfers.
So, yeah, I was quoted $ 420 for 2 separate 12-​minute car rides.
I use these types of transportation services while traveling for my job and have never paid anywhere near such a rate. I should also note that quotes I received from other limo/​sedan transportation companies in Temecula, while more expensive than I anticipated, weren’t even in the same galaxy as $ 420.
