My favorite sushi place by far! The waitresses Chelsea, yna, and Marisa are all so sweet! They take the time to answer any questions you have and always have a smile. The prices are amazing and the food is always delicious(:

Finally discovered a great AYCE sushi place in Temecula. *Anything baked was so good. They are so small in tin foil, but since it’s AYCE you can just order as much as you want. *Specialty rolls were impressive. They were nicely plated. *Quick service! The only con I have is that they won’t let you order shrimp tempura only. It has to be a mix of one shrimp, carrot, and onion. But that’s just a personal critique. The shrimp was so yummy that’s why I preferred that over the vegetables. Overall, I’m coming back here when I have a sudden craving for sushi.

Review on: Management/Owner/Customer Service I’ve been coming here for a long time. It’s really not my personality to complain, in fact this is the 1st time I’ve ever posted anything on Unilocal. There’s many times I’ve seen the owner smoking outside the restaurant with the sushi makers which I thought was very unprofessional and bothered me but I decided to pay it no mind because I like their sushi. But today when I came in for lunch I had the worst experience that I ever had going to any restaurants. While trying to figure out what roll to order. I asked the owner about the Oishi Roll, Red Dragon Roll & Gin Roll, after she told me I decided to go with the Oishi Roll & Dragon Roll. I told her I want the Oishi roll and the Dragon roll. She told me to mark them down on paper which I did, but inadvertently mark down the Hawaiian roll which is next to the Oishi roll. When one of the server brought my order, I told her that I didn’t not order that roll. The waitress was about to take the order back when the owner with her stern voice told her to leave it because that’s what I marked. My question is, if she knew I mark that by mistake how come she didn’t let me know. Also she was very rude to tell me that since I marked it that I have to pay for it. I argued with her and told her that I told her verbally my order and she agreed that I did tell her my order but I marked it wrong. She also told me to eat it that it was good. Any ways I ate my Dragon roll and left the Hawaiian roll untouched on the table. I payed for my meal including the roll I didn’t touch and lefted. The owners is very rude and very arrogant that she doesn’t need to treat her employees and customers with respect. She makes it feel that it’s a privilege to come here. She must think she’s the only business in town. She’s also not setting a good example for her son who is as rude and maybe more so. Never coming back here again!!!

This sushi restaurant is very pretty, but that doesn’t make up for the weak points of the experience, and there were a few. First of all, the wait to be seated was a bit ridiculous. About 30 minutes to have three families finish eating, because they don’t have any tables for couples, and they were not asking if we’d like to sit at the bar. Then, after about five minutes of waiting for the server to even bring us our menus, I got up and walked to the hostess, who I assume is the owner, to ask for menus from the pile of menus she had next to her. She told me to wait, that my server would bring them. Okay. Another five minutes and she finally came over, but only with half of the menus, and each time she tried to bring another one, she realized she had forgotten another menu. Anyway, so we make our decisions quickly, it takes her a while to come back, she seems sort of apathetic or uninterested in making conversation, fine. Everything was moving very slowly. I watched as they were training a new employee, who I saw give the wrong order to customers a few times and called our rolls by the wrong names. Honestly, they should have made her memorize the sushi rolls by pictures before they started training her with customers. The fish was fresh but the rolls we had were a little unimaginative and flavorless. Beautiful presentation, though. I am very interested in coming back next time I’m visiting and trying the AYCE sushi, but that won’t be until summer. Hope they stay in business that long! My favorite sushi place in Temecula recently went out of business and I’m hoping I’ll find another place to replace it…

I’m not going to say the service is terrible because I don’t believe that’s true. I do however think the management is outrageous and not in the good way. The serves do not have assigned areas and are running around trying to please the owner, from what I noticed they were uncomfortable because it seemed as though they could do no right according to the manager and it was noticed by the customers and frankly quit sad because they were doing what they were there to do and that was serve with a smile on their face Anyway, My boyfriend and I came here for lunch twice now and he had the AYCE the last time around, the manager(the very rude lady everyone is talking about) kept staring us down and I later found out from a server(a family member) that she was talking smack on the two of us the whole time. It either being he was eating too much or we were asking too many questions. You can’t have an AYCE option and then get upset when people eat«all you can eat». It was a very uncomfortable experience, we paid and tipped. On our way out of the restaurant the owner and one of the sushi chefs were smoking right in front of the door. This place is very unprofessional and very poorly managed. The food is good but it’s not good enough to come back. I would say avoid this place at all costs. Nothing here is worth such a poor and uncomfortable experience.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Temecula! You definitely get what you’re paying for here and the prices aren’t that bad. I came on a Friday and so I ordered some rolls from the weekend special which had $ 6.95 rolls. I ordered the Oishi and Alaskan roll cuz one roll is just not enough! The Oishi roll is my favorite because it has both salmon and spicy tuna. My dad got the sashimi plate — chef special which had 15 pieces of sashimi and he ordered a side of rice because he wasn’t going to get full off of just the fish. But boy oh boy did they give him thick slices of sashimi! Definitely worth the money! The plate also comes with a bowl of miso soup. I tried some and I sometimes like miso soup, sometimes I don’t, but this time I loved their miso soup. My mom got the rainbow roll and a seafood udon soup. At first she was confused because when the waitress brought her soup out to her she thought they messed up her order and gave her chicken udon. It turns out it was cooked albacore, it just looked like chicken haha. It also came with mussels, little pieces of shrimp, and scallops. Both my mom and dad loved their food and are looking forward to future visits here. The waiter/waitresses were very responsive and gave you what you needed very quickly. Although, I do wish the place was a bit bigger because it does get pretty crowded when it’s a full house. Overall, love it here! UPDATE ¼/15 This review update reflects solely upon seating when we first arrived at the restaurant. I could not believe the host at the front, if he wanted us to sit at a particular spot he could’ve walked us over instead of telling us where to go. My parents and I sat at the«nicer» booths towards the front because my mom has back problems and wanted to support her back with the cushion. Plus, the seats were more firm than the ones on the opposite side of the restaurant. A party of 5 came in and the host then told the 3 of us that he told us to sit on the other side of the restaurant in order to fit the other party. Keep in mind that my parents are old and disabled and the fact that he did that made us upset. We also parked our car in the handicap spot directly in front of the restaurant outside so he should’ve known that my parents are disabled. So the 3 of us moved to the place he wanted us to be and a lady came to us who looked like the owner of the restaurant. We sat at the booths and my parents were struggling to adjust because the booths were low and very little space to move around. We didn’t see what the difference was from the other booths because they looked about the same size, just nicer and more comfortable. At this point my Mom was about to leave and eat somewhere else for such bad customer service. The owner ended up giving us a chair for my dad because he can’t bend his knees as low as these booth seats were or else he won’t be able to get up later due to his arthritis. The owner apologized and explained their reasoning for doing this. However, if you’re going to run a business you need to be mindful of your customers and their condition. As a matter of fact, remodel the place and expand since seating seems to be a huge issue. The host delivered our sushi and you can feel the awkward tension from him. He was polite after that incident, but seemed a bit more timid when he checked on our table as opposed to neighboring tables. Other than that, the food was excellent as usual. The fish was fresh and we got big portions. It’s a shame that we had this horrible experience when this place has really good sushi. Might still come back here with friends, but I don’t think my parents will come back ever again.

Amazing sushi and excellent service! I’ve heard about how great this place is and today was my first visit. Starting out with the service, it was 5+ stars. Everybody was very friendly and they continually checked on our table to make sure our drinks were refilled and empty dishes were cleared. As far as the sushi, it was the best I’ve had. In addition to that, their prices are a bit less than other places I’ve visited in the area. I also heard they are family owned which always make me feel better when supporting our local businesses. Bottom line… If you are looking for sushi, look no further!

My boyfriend and I came here earlier for AYCE sushi. Everything tasted delicious up until I ordered the King Salmon roll. We each took a roll and noticed it tasted really fishy and pungent. Neither one of us wanted to eat the last piece and we let the waitress know that it didn’t taste good. She and the owner were bringing some of our other rolls at the time while my boyfriend expressed our dissatisfaction with the roll. While the waitress was apologetic, the owner kind of sounded like she took the complaint too personal and came off as confrontational. At the same time as she was setting down the plates of sushi, she was just shoving the other plates on the table around. I had to quickly move everything else on the table before anything spilled or fell. The after taste of that roll stuck in my mouth. Ginger and fresh wasabi weren’t removing it and I unfortunately lost my appetite. They also forgot to bring some of the rolls we marked on the menu We finished our first round of AYCE no problem. We ordered our second round but again, I lost my appetite and got full on top of that. My boyfriend tried to eat as much sushi as he could so we wouldn’t get charged for left overs and we cancelled the rest of the orders. The son I assume, brought the check and said next time don’t eat so much. Couldn’t help that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and maybe if that king salmon roll didn’t kill my appetite, I definitely would’ve mauled up that second round of sushi. Fucking prick. I read the other reviews after the fact and noticed many other people have had issues with the owner, manager and the son. A good business will lose patrons since eventually word will get out about the poor attitudes of these people. Overall, the food was good, attitudes not so much.

They don’t carry uni anymore for their all-you-can-eat sushi(or just to order I assume). Ichiban doesn’t get finicky and serves uni for each round. Go there instead.

The owner of this establishment is unprofessional and has the worst manners. The wait staff was nice, the AYCE sushi good(yellow tail & ono). But the rude owner ruined my meal and I will NOT be coming back. The first and the LASTTIME! We came in for lunch, they seated us at a 4-person table and refused our request for a 4-person booth stating they were reserving those for 3 or 4-person parties. A few minutes later, they seat two men at a booth, and all other booths are occupied by 2 people! The owner is sitting there with the two men chatting and laughing! So listen, I love sushi, everyone knows that! I shook it off and thought whatever, maybe the food will be decent. AYCE sushi for $ 18.99, good deal for yellowtail! I ordered a few other things to try, the spicy scallop hand roll and jalapeño poppers were awful, I took one bite and didn’t eat more for fear of a stomachache. I ate mostly everything else and when I ordered more yellowtail and ono? The owner runs over and asks if I was eating everything I ordered first? huh? She pointed at the scallop handroll, I said it was really bad, I’m not going to eat that. She asked the waitress to take it away and said to me, no, it’s not bad. What? I know my taste buds! It was diced up cooked scallops in a vat of sriracha sauce in a burrito sized hand roll. I get you don’t want people taking advantage and not eating rice at an AYCE place but really? If the dish is bad and your customer doesn’t want to eat it, don’t argue, I’m entitled to my opinion. So I said, yes, yes it’s bad. She walks back to the sushi bar, sits in her corner seat, then says something to the chefs and they all laugh. And then say thank you like nothing happened while we’re walking out? Get a life, and get your restaurant because with this type of customer service? You won’t last long. I told my friend not to tip but we ended up tipping because the wait staff has nothing to do with the lame owner!

5 stars for the food hands down! But the customer service is horrible. The owners son is straight up rude and impatient with customers. And they seem to want to rush you to pay and get out of there as soon as you get the food. Honestly to bad because the food is amazing! But the service is terrible.

I don’t know what the owners sons issue is with customers here. He’s extremely rude&impatient. Sucks because the food is delicious! Great quality! But it truly is an uncomfortable dining experience in here. The waitress’ aren’t as attentive as they could be because they are too busy laughing and talking it up with this son of the owner. or regular customers/friends who sit at the sushi bar. Idk when I’ll be back here next. not anytime soon. or unless I can figure out the days he is there and when he’s not. It’s unfortunate I even have to think like this to get around being in the same room with that guy. I’m not the only one who feels this way. I doubt anything will change either. If you choose to come here, don’t request too much extra attention or services. it’s sad because I truly enjoy giving a nice tip to those hard working waiters & waitress’s, I honestly do! But here? I find it difficult to leave any amount of a tip. I remember coming here years ago with my mom and the owner always welcomed us with a warm smile. the son however does not do this. You would think with all the reggae music playing in the restaurant that he would be a happier more pleasant gentleman. That’s not the case though! You’ve been warned.

Is my favorite place for all you can eat sushi. The owner always treats me well there. Me and my friends come in all the time to eat as much sushi as we possibly can because it is the best sushi around. I’m always scrambling to get money to come in here and eat more & more is much as I can. Sushi is definitely my favorite all-time food and I try to go to gin sushi as much as possible.

This is based on service experience. The food is amazing. I’m a weekly customer. But man What a disaster tonight. Apparently the owner said bc they had a large group to care for they slacked on us. A large group meant we were neglected. We came in and were a party of 3. They sat us and didn’t ask for drinks nor bring us menus for a good 10 – 15 min. We ordered all you can eat menu and the first order came back all wrong. We finally got the correct order and were unable to get to the second round of ordering bc they forgot about us and were too busy. Our drinks stayed empty and they weren’t that busy us to be completely neglected. They had ¾ tables empty and the place is pretty small. The owner told us «hey it happens, we’re busy» and tried to make things right by giving us a discount which is why I didn’t give them just 1 star. But this was some of the worst service I have ever experienced. This is the first time this happened to us and I’m really disappointed on how it was handled by the owner herself.

Where to start… I’ve driven pass this restaurant countless times, and never really bothered to check it out until tonight. Walking in, we were seated in a booth near the back; the ambiance of this place is casual, very lively, and a little loud which I didn’t mind. Considering the type of crowd, and how small the restaurant is, I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with children. I came here with one of my good friends and we ordered the following: — Pokky Gin — If you’re a poke lover, this dish will send your tastebuds over the edge. Everything in this dish complemented each other very well. It was tangy, fresh and had a little spice kick to it. A definite must try. — Seaweed Salad — always one of my favorite dishes to get at a sushi place, but really good here at Gins. The cucumber and lemon were a nice touch. — Baked Scallops Roll — this roll was pretty amazing, it was fresh and also had a sweet taste to it. The only con I have for this dish is the way it was served. It appeared the rolls were wrapped in aluminum foil which I’m sure it was to keep the scallops from falling, but also had the rolls stuck together which made it messy and harder to eat. Overall still pretty good. — Volcano Roll — I was really disappointed with this roll, don’t get me wrong it was really good; however it tasted exactly like the baked scallops roll. The only difference between the two is that the volcano roll had a teriyaki glaze over the rolls. So essentially I ordered two of the same thing. Overall this place was decent, the staff are friendly, the son & pop of the restaurant are really nice and try to cater to you as much as possible. With all that said I’d definitely come back to try other things off the menu.

How have I not written a review for our favorite AYCE sushi place in Temecula??? I love how every time we are in town, the food and the service is consistent. The owners and staff are always super friendly and there really isn’t a long wait for your food to come out. My favorite items off the AYCE menu are: — Cajun tuna — Seared Ono — Spider roll I can’t remember the price of their AYCE, but the food and service are worth every penny! Unilocal 100 Challenge — 100 of 100 Woohooo!!!
