Joy Of Living Massage

One of the better massages I’ve ever had. Got a certificate for this place for Christmas and finally got around to using it.
It’s a little hard to find tho once you get past that, it’s all smooth sailing.
Kadea did my massage and Kammy did my husband’s massage. As we had a couples massage in the same room, both therapists did very little talking during the treatment (thank you for that). They did ask pertinent questions about problem pain areas or what amount of pressure was okay.
Highly recommend so book them! They also have a Unilocal!deal at the time of writing this. Go ahead! Relax! It’s good for you!

I highly recommend Kardea!!! She is a true skilled professional. She asked all the right questions, focused on my trouble areas, and felt instantly relaxed! This girl knows what she is doing. She listens to you and makes you feel she is doing her job right. Go see Kardea!

Initially my wife and I purchased massages through Groupon just thinking we’d try out Joy of Living. My wife and I went separately, but we both enjoyed our massage by Kardea so much — we purchased her 5 package deal right on the spot! I’ve been to quite a few different massage therapists, and it’s usually hit-​or-​miss. But, we’ve been to see Kardea over 7 times now, and each 60-​min massage has been consistently excellent. Her prices are also very reasonable. Whether you’re a man or woman, young or old, Kardea seems to know just where and how much pressure to apply. Not only is her technique great, but Kardea’s just a nice person in general. She occasionally works with other therapists, but Kardea’s definitely our recommendation! =)

I bought a Groupon for a 60-​minute Aromatherapy massage.
The Phenix Salon is actually a labyrinth full of tiny one-​room cells, each belonging to a separate personal care business. They are not all spa-​type services, so the building overall is noisy, and not particularly conducive to relaxation.
The masseuse plays what seems to be one song on perpetual loop, at a high volume, presumably to drown out the noise from the surrounding businesses.
During the massage, Kardea was actually reading and responding to text messages. Although her phone was on vibrate, it’s hard to miss the unmistakable bzzz-​bzzz of an incoming message, especially since her pocket is pretty much right next to your head much of the time. The first time I heard it, I thought a bee got into the room. When she began massaging with one hand, it was fairly clear what was really going on. This happened at least twice.
A little bit later, I heard the also unmistakable sound of an iPhone camera shutter go off. There was an awkward pause, then she said, «oops. I accidentally pressed a button on my phone.» Um, yeah. You pressed the PICTURE-​TAKING button on your phone, which is not easy to do on accident. More importantly, what the f@*k are you doing with your phone when your job requires both hands?!
It was absolutely awful, unprofessional, and unforgivable. Kardea reported that she has been doing massage for over 10 years. Now I understand why she has to offer a Groupon, when most others practicing that long would have a steady clientele by now.
It’s too bad, because her technical skills were very good. But when you leave a massage more stressed out than you were when you went in, Groupon or not, it’s a bad deal.

Great place for a weekday couples massage. I set an appointment for my boyfriend and I and we were very pleased with the cozy atmosphere as well as the skill level of our massage therapists. I had the pleasure of having Kardea –amazing. We will be going back!

I highly recommend Kardea she is a true professional. She asked all the right questions, focused on all the right spots, and I am feeling so much better, even days later. She really knows what she is doing. It’s a relaxing environment, you get your moneys worth here and I definitely plan on coming back here again.
