My wife and I jut purchased a desk unit that we are completely satisfied with. We could not beat the price. It was used, but looked practically brand new! They have a big selection of new or used office furniture. They have everything you are looking for with excellent quality and prices the lowest I have seen. The service here is outstanding. I bought a used Executive Office Set, Desk and Credenza, cost me only $ 500. Great Value. I then went back and bought an executive office chair, used and a coulple of new visitor chairs(new). I went back and bouught a used confrence table and some new chairs to go with it… fantastic prices, fantastic quality… even the used items are in great condition. Friendly, helpful. Highly recomend them for the used furniture and even the new.

I love this place. We have purchased several new and used items there for our office and have ALWAYS received the utmost care, concern and assistance from the people who work there. They have always been willing to assist us in any way possible. I wouldn’t say they sell things«cheap» but they offer a tremendous value in used office furniture. The items we’ve purchased have been in very good gently used condition to «excellent» condition, and for the money I have saved, to me it is totally worth buying used. The selection is very vast. I always recommend this place, and when I go in there they are always helpful and courteous. From what I hear, they have customers who purchase from them all over the United States, so that tells you something right there. Powell’s is the first place I go now when I need office furniture, and I usually find something I can use for a good price. I have no problem paying the minimum delivery fee for my furniture. I realize that with the price of gas, the driver’s time and cost of overhead and insurance– the delivery is going to cost me— but yes, it is clearly a better value for me to have them deliver several things at once as opposed to one small thing. It might be better just to bring your own truck for one item. If you need office furniture, you should check them out!!.

We are redecorating our offices on a budget. I called looking for a pair of matching lateral files. The person answering the phone took the time to walk through the warehouse and located two plausible pair. When I drove down and saw the size and extent of their stock, I was very impressed. The units they told me about were there, and were in good shape. Ultimately, however, I picked a single 4 drawer unit instead. It was new except for a small blemish and was available at a greatly discounted price. They helped load it into my truck, and handled the sale politely and efficiently. Regarding the other review — I noted that they posted their delivery terms — including a surcharge for stairs which I thought was quite reasonable. They have a very broad selection of products, and I would not hesitate to go to them again.

Worst customer service imaginable. I called Powell’s a couple of months ago, looking for a filing cabinet, four or five drawers, standard filing, not lateral, preferably in black. Was told they didn’t have any and instead of taking my number and saying they’d either call me if they got any or would try to find me one, I was told I should call back in a few weeks. About a month later I went to the location and, after walking past at least four sales people sitting around chatting, I found what looked to be at least a dozen filing cabinets, and from the dust on them they’d been there for a while. Found what I wanted at $ 99 but was told it would cost me $ 100 extra to have it delivered, since it required going up six stairs. When I declined, I was told it was much easier for customers to take their purchases with them. Really? Office furniture? How much office furniture can you load into a passenger car? I would gladly have paid $ 50 to have the cabinet delivered, but for less than what Powell’s wanted for a used cabinet plus delivery I could have had a brand new one from Office Depot or Staples AND had it delivered gratis. I am glad if Powell’s has enough business(don’t judge by their un-busy sales staff I guess) that they can afford to pass up a $ 150 cash sale but it’s a cinch I won’t be wasting my time with this place a second time.
