Schumacher Garage Door

DOES NOT FULFILL WARRANTY WORK AND DOES SHODDY WORK!!!
My landlord had a garage door worked on by this company before I moved in. I called them back after a few months to have my garage door looked at because it wouldn’t open. I told him my situation and immediately upon hearing me mention that this was a possible warranty fix he became hostile and verbally insulting.
He then continued on about how renters don’t know anything and how they always try to get things for free… (??? really?)
Obviously I was taken aback by his confrontational, hostile and demeaning attitude. I thought maybe his company was struggling financially and being self employed myself, I could relate to the ups and downs of a business. I then decided to switched gears and tried to see if maybe he could help me trouble shoot over the phone.
This was a tough phone call for me personally, because no matter how compassionate and eager to cooperate I was with with him in helping him help me, it just didn’t matter to him. The owner continued to be as nasty and degrading, in attitude, as he could possibly be.
He basically continued saying that he didn’t trust renters and that he wouldn’t come out after his brief and nasty troubleshooting session was over.
I then suggested he call my landlord and he then interjected that it was the only way he would come out but he continued with this ridiculous attitude that he didn’t even know if we were his client. Well, all he had to really do was check his records and he’d see us there if he really wanted to verify. But obviously he just wanted to insult and fight his way out of fulfilling his obligation to repairing his shoddy workmanship.
It’s raining cats and dogs right now which is what got me to go to the garage and pull his company sticker off my wall and write this glowing review.
I still need my garage door fixed and he was supposed to call my landlord and get back to us. It’s been over a year now and that’s never happened. The landlord says she never received any call either because if she had known, she would have had him do the warranty work. Thanks for nothing Schumacher garage and door!!! You certainly lost a few customers while hoarding the cash from a job that you didn’t earn. Hope it was money well spent!

I don’t own the home and I didn’t live here when the garage door was worked on by schumacher’s company.
I originally called his number from the NEW sticker that HE left on my garage wall with HIS phone number on it. Pics are attached below.
His foul attitude, shoddy work and dishonesty got him a deserved 1 star review, which should be a zero star review, especially now that he’s just became a complete liar!
There is no mistaken identity.
I have of a picture of his company’s sticker that he left on my garage wall with the same phone number on it that he lists in his ad.
Not only is he dishonest with customers but you can now see how manipulative he is when he admits trying to get my review removed through Unilocal and tries to label it with «mistaken identity.»

The number on his sticker from my garage is identical to the screenshot of his business number from his Unilocal page.
Honesty isn’t this company’s strongest quality as you can see.
Schumacher, should tell Unilocal that this was him and not a case of mistaken identity just to clear the air. Being honest starts somewhere… =)
He should feel lucky that I don’t call the contractors licensing board and file a complaint with them as well.
As for the snide and sarcastic comments in his written reply below. It only serves to discredit him and prove my point
I recently confirmed with my landlord that you were here to do a repair. And you admit that you were at my house at some point but avoid admitting that you were hostile and rude and wouldn’t come out for a warranty repair and did shoddy work to begin with.
If he continues conducting business this way he’ll probably need to start looking for a job. Nice reputation he’s cultivating right here on Unilocal for the community to see.
Maybe he should spend less time searching through profiles and looking for ways to manipulate public opinion and mislead people and just treat people with respect and keep his word, EVEN IF IT IS JUST A WARRANTY REPAIR…
Again, he EARNED this negative review. As we all know, for every negative review there’s about 2 dozen ++ who didn’t take the time to report their negative experience. The bottom line is, don’t offer warranties if you have no interest in fulfilling them.

Larry repaired the springs that broke on our garage door. He came out the day after we called him. He was on time, honest, professional and affordable. We will definitely recommend him to all our friends!

One set of springs on my single piece flipper garage door broke.
I live in The Colony in Murrieta, a 55+ community. Mr Schumacher was highly recommended on our internal email list, as are many other garage door service companies.
I only called two of the recommended companies. Mr. Schumacher’s quote of $ 155 was $ 107 less than the one other competitor I called. He could not fix the door until the next morning, but he told me how to open the door to get my car out.
He showed up on time, in the rain, and fixed the door in less than thirty minutes.
He only does repairs so there was no danger of an upsell to a new door. I’ll call him the next time I need a repair.

I am in the property management business, we have over 100 rental properties that we take care of for owners and tenants.
I have worked with Larry for over 10 years and he has ALWAYS been professional, honest, reliable and does excellent work fixing and maintaining garage doors & openers on all of our properties.
Have NO COMPLAINTS or issues with Schumacher Garage Doors service, prices or have I ever had a problem. Larry does what is needed and I know we can trust him implicitly.
