This is a super cool little wool and fabric store. I brought my little kids and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to shop but the woman was very friendly with them and let them play with a huge bin of buttons. I got some good discounted wool fabrics and she gave me free buttons because I was a first time visitor. I’m going to go here often for all the wool and yarn I use.

After discussing my project and showing pic(nuno felting) I purchased $ 80 of yarn & roving at ‘the wool lady’ in Temecula CA. After looking at the roving in better light I saw the roving was matted and not suitable for nuno felting. I asked to get refund on the matted roving, and the owner refused saying all sales are final. The sale was not 3 minutes old. I won’t repeat the entire discussion but I can say with certainty I will not set foot in that store again. The quality and selection was poor, the prices about 30‰ higher than Etsy the owner extremely rude and her husband told me all roving is matted.(?? Really??) I wish there was a way to do zero stars.

I went to The Wool Lady yesterday for some yarn to make a scarf even though I didn’t really have a clear vision as to what kind of scarf I wanted to make. The owner was VERY pleasant and took the time to show me all the different sorts of yarn in her store. I ended up finding the perfect wool from Sonoma as well as a pattern. Overall, I had some of the best customer service – the kind that will make me want to shop there time and time again.

Very cute little shop in Old Town. Sort of a «jack of all trades» type of store. They sell yarn, wool felt, quilt fabric and embroidery supplies all in one shop! Not the largest yarn selection ever, but enough variety to make it interesting. Very nice couple owns the shop and they are helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my visit. Purchases wrapped up very nicely in a cute bag!

I visited the Wool Lady a couple of weeks ago while on a trip with my family and I have mixed feelings. The owner was nice but I’ve been to yarn stores with much wider selections. What really irked me though was that when I walked in with my sister they had hand held buckets by the door for shopping. Knowing my sister I handed her a larger one and then I grabbed a smaller one and began shopping. While we were there some acquaintance of the owner was there chatting with her. When the owner greeted us her acquaintance said, very sarcastically«oh look they even have their little buckets all ready». It was very condescending to say the least. I ended up putting my basket down and not buying anything. If you are going to have your friends visit you in your store they shouldn’t be speaking to or about your customers unless they’ve been trained on customer service. To top it all off we had specifically picked this shop because of the good reviews, however, when we arrived the first time around it was closed even though we were there within the posted business hours. We actually went out of our way to come back and then this happened.

I’ve been knitting for a couple years now and it took months before I realized there was any LYS in this area at all. I must have had really bad google-fu then. I live in North Murrieta and don’t often go to Old Town so when I decided to stop by on my way to pick up my daughters from school, I was very excited based on other reviews. The yarn is all so lovely! Since I was a first time customer, I got to pick out some buttons for free. The scarf sample in the store helped me decide which yarn to buy — I was browsing for what felt like forever b/c I just couldn’t decide. I like to be a little adventurous in my purchases so I picked something I hadn’t heard of: Feza Nico. SO gorgeous! I know there was other wooly heaven but I would have been late picking up the girls had I stayed any longer to browse and admire. With my yarn purchase I got the pattern to make the scarf sample and everything was packaged beautifully in a sweet bag… seriously, it was ready to be gifted to someone if I had been gift-shopping! I’ll be back again soon. So much more to look at and buy!

So wonderful!!! These people LOVE all things wool and had me so excited about my next projects! They have a sale section where I scored some great, high quality yarn for a super price. Also there is a section for yarn that is from locally raised sheep and animals and is hand spun and dyed. It was all beautiful and I learned a lot as they were all marked with the maker, type of animal, ect. Some even had a photo of the exact animal it came from. So cool! They have a great selection of classes including but not limited to: knitting, crochet, wool appliqué, Swedish weaving, felting, rug hooking, embroidery, and so much more. I already signed up for a crochet class as the instructor was super nice and worked with my schedule. They offer free buttons to first time buyers and if you buy yarn on any visit you can pick out a free pattern! I’m a beginner crocheter so I had a tone of questions and the owners where so friendly and excited to answer my questions. I ended up staying here an hour and a half before I knew it, just talking with the owners. Time fly’s when your having fun! If your even thinking about getting into any of these hobbies you must come here! They will help you with anything. And if your advanced you will love the selection. They definitely have a passion for yarn!

Great little shop tucked into a building in Old Town Temecula. I wish I was into rug hooking or penny rugs because I would have been in Heaven. She has a gorgeous selection of wool felt and felted wool, a huge wall full of patterns and all the notions you would need to make something wonderful. There is a small selection of yarn but the shop is mostly geared the woolens and embroidery supplies. The woolens would have actually made fabulous accents to anything sewn… too bad I thought of that after I left. The customer service was great. I’ll definitely be stopping in again when I’m in town.
