I’m soooooo glad I found Khristine tucked away in a little beauty mall walking distance from my house! I thought it was an office building until I walked in for my first appointment. She is super easy to work with. I showed her a half dozen pictures of celebrity hair cuts I liked and she stated working her magic. The first time I went I forgot to pay close attention to everything so I couldn’t get the same results at home. The next time I made sure I took notes and write down all the products she used. I learned so much about why I wasn’t getting the volume she gets. I was totally doing it wrong at home. Sunday is my favorite day to go because she has the salon to herself but I also love the online scheduling. I totally scheduled an appointment on a Thursday night for the following Friday afternoon.
The cut is so awesome that it looks great even on days when I skip most of the styling and let it air dry. Which is perfect because I love a lazy Sunday. The Kevin Murphy products she uses are the bomb! Yes they’re a bit expensive but I bought a bottle of the anti. gravity spray in January and I still have half a bottle left so it lasts a while. And they smell amazing and are cruelty free which is a must for me!
Bottom line: Khristine is worth every penny!

I am so happy with my cut and color every time I leave her salon. I like to change my hair color often but I don’t always know what I want. I need a hairstylist that is creative and talented, Khristine is both.

Best haircut that you can get in the valley! And the products Khristine uses smell sooooooo good. Only open on Fri-​Sun, but the appointment can be easily made online.

Best haircut I’ve had since birth! Khristine is a true master of her craft. She took the time to really understand my hair in order to give me the best haircut suited for my hair. I will definitely be going back! Plus, it is to her advantage that she has a great personality! She really makes you feel comfortable.

I could not be more pleased with my experience at Sugar Skull Studio, or with my cut from the outstanding Khristine. I found this place while looking up reviews for another salon and am so happy I landed in Khristine’s chair. The shop is odd for a Michigander like me – one of 20 or so studios in a beauty mall off McClintock. Turned out to be great, as there was tons of natural light and only two chairs. You have Khristine’s full attention and the unbelievable benefit of her extensive knowledge of hair types & textures, and what it takes to make a cut amazing. I’ve never had someone be so good to my extra fine hair. The cut & style came with a head, neck, and hand massage, as well as a great conditioning treatment. The products are all top shelf, smelled amazing, and made my hair oh-​so-​happy. I’ll be back for colors and cuts as long as I live within a hundred miles of this place. One other perk to note: Sugar Skull uses an online booking system so you can easily reschedule or make an appointment online, and you get e-​confirmation of everything, and when I paid, my receipt was texted to me. It’s great to be able to do everything without paper!

I went to Khristine today and I absolutely love my haircut! I have lived in the valley for 7 years and until now, I’ve never trusted anyone enough to do more than a trim. Khristine is awesome! She definitely knows her stuff and I’m even considering getting highlights again after a five year color hiatus (because I never found someone I could trust to do it, until now!). Awesome, awesome stylist!

I went to Khristine last week for the first time based off of Unilocal reviews! I was sincerely impressed with her professionalism, skill and overall business. Also, she is very personable and sweet. One of the few stylists that didn’t answer the phone during my time with her!
She spent 3+ hours on my hair and I left with a great cut and color that I have managed to do at home since.
This is not a cheap salon so don’t expect to come out of there with a salon style for a CheapCuts price. I didn’t really ask about pricing prior so I did spend more than usual BUT you do get what you pay for. I will be back!

I don’t know if I can write enough good things about Genesis. She’s patient, smart, accommodating, professional, and cares about her clients. I’m the worst at coming in for touch-​ups and trims, but she always manages to bring me back from the dark side and keep my hair looking as healthy and natural as possible.
The true testament to her talent is that her cuts are realistic. I don’t just leave the studio with hair that looks fantastic and well maintained; I am able to maintain the styles at home myself. She brings out the best attributes in my hair, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s a riot to chat with!

I love Khristine!!! I met her over 6 years ago when someone botched my haircut right before my wedding, she fixed it right up. And it was years before she admitted she was nervous about having to fix a haircut before someones wedding day.
When my sister comes to town she asks me to make an appointment with her, she said its the only good haircut she can get.
Khristine is the very, very best.

Genesis is the absolute best. I’ve gone to her for more than a year now, every 3 – 4 weeks, and the cut is consistent and awesome. Her attention to detail separates her from any other stylist I’ve ever gone to.
If you’re a guy and you care about your hair, you can’t do better than Genesis for a cut. Not cheap at $ 35 + tip, but it’s worth every penny.

I have been seeing Khristine since before I was officially Jewish, which is a long time ago now. But that’s neither here nor there. She is amazing at creating color that complements your attitude and skin complexion. Basically, she’s a magician. Every time I leave Khristine’s salon, I feel good about myself. I also feel confident that I can somewhat recreate what she’s made on a daily basis. So glad to have found her! P. S. Her new studio is a private space and it makes you feel VIP.

Khristine is awesome. She uses gentle products and is just fun to talk to. She gives some pretty sick haircuts. She can go really conservative or really edgy — it’s awesome.
