The Added Touch Colonics and Hydrotherapy

Just the worst service! I haven’t even made it into receive service yet. Made an appointment for Saturday around three and at 12:30 they called and said had to up my appointment to one! I mean who does that?
Couldn’t make the 1 o’clock appointment so try to reschedule but they were not very accommodating and had another appointment a month out. So they put me on an on-​call list and I have never been called to reschedule.
Calling now to try to reschedule will provide more details as the story develops.

Worst experience ever. Took 3+ months to get an appointment, only to be cancelled on twice by the therapist. Once, she actually changed the appointment in their computer system without anyone knowing. I will not leave her name for privacy reasons, but in one word, awful.

The location itself is ancient. The sign is in the middle of the block after you have passed the turn and there isn’t another way to enter. You have to wait at the light and turn all the way around. This made me a few minutes late. And the first thing they did is look at the clock when I walked in. The technician was so rude. She saw I was nervous (and I clearly stated it) yet she did nothing to make me feel comfortable. I was given no instructions before the appointment and nothing during! Aside from change and lie down. I stated that I would come back in order for her to take her «five o’clock appointment that was soon coming» and she wouldn’t let me.
They have no idea what customer service is or how to make people feel comfortable when the service they are providing is awkward enough all on its own! They were rude and unprofessional! I will be asking for my money back from Groupon and recommend they stop Selling this terrible service!

I also purchased a Groupon before reading the bad reviews, but I had a great experience. Even though they did not answer my first call, they returned my call within an hour and I was scheduled for the next week, the time that I needed.
Brittany was extremely nice and I did not feel embarrassed or intimidated. I got a lot of information and find it useful. She did offer me a package, but I politely refused and there was no pushing to buy it.
I recommend this place.

So I have no idea whats with all the negative reviews. I got lucky with this experience because i went against my normal process and purchased the groupon package for 2 colon hydrotherapy sessions before I read the reviews on the place. After I made my appointment, I checked Unilocal and saw all the bad reviews and I became greatly worried.
I made my first appointment with no problem – someone answered the phone by first call. My therapist, Jeanette, was fantastic. I had gone to Revivination in Scottsdale before for my first colon hydrotherapy session ever, and my therapist there had been so aggressive with her lectures on vegan eating, the evils of meat and dairy, etc that I was very turned off. That’s why I was so hasty to try another groupon without checking.
Jeanette told me about the open-​system option for Colon hydrotherapy where you sit on a machine and control your own releases into a tub below. It sounded interesting so I tried it for my second appointment, facilitated by Brittany. Loved it!!! It’s kinda grosser but I liked that you didn’t need a therapist in the room the whole time so I could play on my phone.
Anyways after that second appointment, I went ahead and bought a package for 6 appointments for open-​system sessions. They were running a great special for December 2013.
As I’m writing this, I am on my 4^th session at Added Touch lol. Brittany continues to assist me in my appointments. She is very informative and very accommodating.
I’m sorry so many people had such bad experiences here, but they are always booked solid and plenty of people are always with me in the waiting room when I go so there are definitely enough happy campers to come back here.
The office is clean, comfy and dimly lit for ambience. The only thing I would complain about is the chairs in their waiting room, while modern, are so tiny! Lol and they have colorful pillows on the chairs so then there’s no room for your butt!
I’m a fan of this place!

do not go here! total rip off. awful ghetto service! first– therapist didn’t show up twice to our appointment, then tried to sell me a six hundred dollar package and took my money and ran!. seriously… seriously! i think they might they might be a «get up and go business»… in the legal process of getting the money back.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. This may have been the worst, most unprofessional and unapologetic treatment I have ever received from any business, ever.
From beginning to end, top to bottom there is nothing this company did to merit even one star. They do not return phone calls, they cancel appointments at the last minute, they double book themselves, they are unapologetically 40 minutes late and they do not give the treatment promised.
Do not waste your time. Spend a little more to be treated respectfully and get a treatment somewhere they actually care. At Added Touch they did not even pretend to care.

This is the worst place EVER!!! Stay away from this place. Brittany is the worst manager ever and this place has the worst customer service. My husband succumb to the sale’s pressure and purchased 30 sessions of colonic therapy. Excessive colonic irrigation can be dangerous. So I tried to call and work some deal out with them to reduce the amount of sessions he purchased, I was treated with very hostile attitude. The manager Brittany hung up on me and refused to answer my questions. I tried to call the number 3 more times and no one answered. So I dialed a different number on their website and asked to speak to a different manager, the receptionist transferred me to Brittany again and I was told by Brittany that I can only talk to her. Later on I found out from my husband because they contacted him to complain about me, Brittany told my husband that I tried to harass the receptionist by calling 13 times. This is such a RIDICULOUS experience that my husband and I have to go through. So in the end, they only agreed to refund half of the 600 dollars. SO BE VERY CAREFUL if you want to go to this place!

I wish that I could give less than one star! I went here after buying a groupon, I tried to schedule and was told that they could not get me in for a month, my deal would’ve been expired by then but they let me use it anyways which I thought was cool until I went in.
I had never had one of these treatments before but I eat a lot of red meat and want to get healthy so my wife bought it for me. The technician said that everything was going well during the treatment but nothing came out during or afterwards except water.
After the session I walked out and the tech went into hardcore sales mode, she said that because of the information that I had provided at I would need to come back at least 5 – 10 more times to really get the full effect. This would have been about $ 6 – 700 at this point, instead i said that I would be happy to buy one more session to see if anything would happen

Very unprofessional and owner lacking customer service skills. Went in for a second colon theraphy, waited for 30mins passed my scheduled time only to be informed that I my original colonics person was not in and was assigned a newbie out of school. First of all I felt she was experimenting on me. So I told her I did not want to continue with the treatment and would rescheduled. My appt was rescheduled for the next day. Showed up for my appt yet to be told it was not for that day but a day later (this was booked by the owner). Then the owner proceed to let me know that I made a mistake. So I told her I was not coming back to her establishment and wanted a refund in which she declined. I will never ever recommend that place to anyone.

Awful awful awful!!! I bought my second groupon for massages with these guys. 1^st time they short cut me by 10 mins. That was a few months ago. So I thought I would give them a second chance so I bought the second groupon. I scheduled the appt for 6pm. Knowing I was shortcut by 10 mins last time, I got there around 5:50m. I was sitting there till 6:30pm there was NO massage therapist there. He was still in a session. Obviously they were double booked and they don’t even know. What a horrible experience! I’m asking for a refund from Groupon and will never go to this place again.
I wish I could give them zero star. One star is too generous for them.

I have to agree with other comments. I too purchased a Groupon prior to reading the reviews. I had a similar experience as others… I booked this 2 weeks out. I was in transit to my later afternoon apt and receive a call saying they are moving me 30 minutes later. I drove 40 to get there and they are just now telling me this? I have to pick up from school so had little time to spare after my apt in the first place.
The place is DARK… very outdated and feels a bit creepy. The receptionist is frazeled and has no appology for lateness or bad scheduling?
I was given ZERO instructions… I read others were to fast? I ate all day! This would have been my first time with a colonic and I was open to the health benefits.
I decided to leave and will ask for my money back from Groupon.

I should have come to this site before I purchased this on Living Social. I’ve received Colonics before so I knew what to expect. This place was horrible!
1) I was picked up 15 minutes late. I worked in Spas for over 5 years and can tell you that this is a big NO NO!
2) The therapist left the room TWICE. The first time she left, I started to leak water out of you know where and had to sit in that while I yelled for someone to come back into the room. When she came back in, she acted like i was over reacting. She tried to tell me that this was normal, however, i know for a fact it is NOT!!!
3) The therapist did not provide any information before or after the colonics. When i asked her for some literature on what I should and shouldn’t eat, she said that they didn’t give their clients that, but she wanted to give me some DVD to watch.
4) When i called the next day to complain, I asked to speak with the manager and it turns out that the manager was the same girl who gave me the colonics. I spoke with her and told her my concerns. She didn’t seem very receptive and told me it was normal for therapists to leave the room.
All in all, a horrible experience! I canceled my other appointment and will be asking Living Social for a refund.

Groupon for a massage — «meh» is too nice term to describe the entire experience. If you’re going for a massage, you want a pleasant, tranquil experience. Here, you hear everything that goes on outdoors (not just in the office but the cars outside) AND indoors (as in the ticking clock within the room!)… um, how is that even remotely calming? And as for the massage, mediocre at best. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

I got a massage via a groupon. During the first 20 or so minutes anything from the AC unit on high, to the other front desk person talking loudly to the kid running and screaming, it was not the best massage experience I’ve had. I’m going to take a guess that the massage therapist was new to massage. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I tried to relax into the massage and she found her groove, the kid was now gone and the front desk person began speaking softer.
It turned around alright until I went to leave. I left what I felt was an appropriate tip considering the less than professional atmosphere. Then I was told I owed $ 12 for gratuity. Now I’m not a massage veteren but I’ve had more than enough to know that unless I was a party of 8 eating at Olive Garden, gratuity is not determined for me. I was a bit dumbfounded. I mentioned that I had left cash in the room, so the other employee went to retrieve my tip so I could put the rest of it on my card. What was especially bizarre is that she pulled out her iphone and square to apply my charge. It seemed very under the table.
Once again, I need to read Unilocal before I buy anymore Groupons, Living Social or any other coupons.

I purchased a Groupon for this establishment and I will admit as someone who is a colonic veteran, I don’t think I will ever do that again. I didn’t like my first experience with another Groupon colonic purchase. So when this went wrong, I knew it was time to cut my losses and fork over my pennies for a quality experience. Now let me preface this by saying, I understand as a new business, problems can occur, «growing pains» so to speak, but how do you expect your business to expand with grave errors? In addition, I never actually had the colonic procedure done. Read below to see why.
Problem 1: Their phone system is out of the dark ages. No one actually ever picks up the phone. You have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. Now this can be days… So when I actually did get a call back, of course that was at 8am (when I was knocked out) so I had to play phone tag again.
Problem 2: So after finally setting up my appointment for a week and a half from the date of the call, I was given NO instructions on how to prepare for the colonic. Just «No food on the day of the colonic, but water is fine». I have been getting colonics for YEARS. Every time I am given information, even if they know I have had colonics in the past. My friends who visited the establishment weeks before me asked ME how to prepare!
Problem 3: The day of I called to ask for directions because my GPS kept taking me to different addresses. I thought the answering service and receptionist said 7^th avenue instead of southern (weird huh?). My error (I haven’t even been living here a year yet), but a modern calling system or emergency number would be helpful in instances such as these. I called twice with a half hour space in between. Their answering service clearly states someone will get back to you within 30 minutes. No one EVER called me back that day.
Problem 4: They told me on the phone and in the message that they had recently moved so I decide to go to the old address to see if I can find out any other contact info. The note on the door lists their new address which was right across the street. Good job on that! I get there and it’s CLOSED. Now mind you, by this time it’s an hour after the time of my appointment. I knocked on the door for several minutes, even on the door that has a sign on it. I looked thru the windows: lights were off and boxes littered the floor. Now in their defense, one could say, they could have interpreted my getting lost as a «no-​show», but this is when they could have called me like any other business when a client doesn’t show up (keep i mind that there are two messages on record). But I knew this meant they were never there to begin with!
So last night I received a call from the manager (4 days later). She lets me know that their phone system crashed right around the time I was calling. I won’t judge the truthfulness in her statement, because honestly it doesn’t matter. She apologized and offered to extend the date of my Groupon since it had now expired. She also stated that she would call those that were on staff that day to see why the doors would have been locked. It could have been a family emergency (which I pray it wasn’t). Thanks but no thanks. And thus this ends my pseudo-​relationship with this business. In my heart, I know I dodged a bullet.
If you are looking for convenience and professionalism, this is not the place. I hope my friend Monet T. adds her review, so you can hear about her actual experience which she says was fine. As for me, I’ll pay my normal colonic prices because I value my body and my health. It’s worth more than a Groupon deal (which was refunded by the way). Thanks Groupon!

Like many other reviews here, got a groupon then requested a refund. They ask you on the front end if you have «any coupons or gift certificates» and you definitely feel the frustration once you tell them you have a Groupon and sense they are scheduling you out further because of this. So I got an appt a week past where I wanted to come in.
I get there and am waiting and receive a phone call while in the waiting room and am told the appt before me is running over 30 min. so I will have to either wait or come back. I had fasted all morning until noon for this appt. and had carefully marked out the time in my day so waiting or coming back was not an option to me.
The office itself is dark and does not have a sense of cleanliness about it.
The website right here on Unilocal goes nowhere.
The website from Groupon also directs you to another site that is supposedly theirs but is in a completely different location.
I requested and obtained a refund from Groupon and would not return nor recommend this place.
Like another reviewer here (a well known holistic Veterinarian in town), I own a holistic business nearby and any business like this would get my referrals or negative word of mouth. We know what this one will get.
I only wish I’d read all these 1 star reviews before purchasing the Groupon. I’ll do that in the future.

Got a Groupon for a combined 2 hour treatment for a massage and a foot reflexology treatment.
I put 10:30 down in my calendar for this and I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be at 10:30 because I remembered thinking we would be going over the noon lunch hour, but that the therapist must take lunch late or something.
My only question when i saw the 10:30 later on my calendar was maybe it was 11 a.m. not 10:30 a.m. but I went in at 10:30 anyway so that I could fill out any forms and if I was early I would just work on my lists of things to do or read while I waited.
Got in and they said they had me down at 9;30!!! So They did say well we could do one of the services now and do the other one at another day.
The therapist insisted on playing tinny sounding music on her smart phone speakers while she gave me a massage. The massage wasn’t the best I had ever had. The room was decorated well but the massage bed was substandard. I reflected it was odd that they would spend money on iron candle scounces instead of a decent sound system or a decent massage table.
I decided to never go back, cause I don’t really want reflexology from someone who cannot do a massage well.

Stay far away from this place if you want a good colonic. Worst colonic of my life here… and I have been getting them since the 80’s. The colonic was bad enough, but the attitude of the woman giving the colonic was even worse. Complaining the whole time that she had to leave a family gathering to be there on a Saturday. Then I purchased over 200.00 of Groupons which they would not honor because I had been there once before!!!, even though it does not say that on the Groupon certificate. You could not pay me to ever go back there or refer anyone there.

I decided to go here because of a Groupon. I left a voicemail specifically explaining I needed an appointment for me and my mother to come and it needs to be on a Saturday. It took them 4 days to return my call and I was told they were having computer problems and would call me the following Monday to set up the appointments. I did receive the call and conveyed once again that I needed 2 same time or back to back appointments for a Saturday.
We show up and were told they didn’t have enough hydro therapists to accommodate us both, but one appointment could be kept. I once again explained the whole point of doing it the way I did was because my mom wasn’t so keen on going through this alone and wanted the treatment done before an upcoming Colonoscopy. So, I rescheduled the appointments for us both once again.
The next trip over mom ran late to my house so it was evident we’d not be getting there on time. I called on the way over to explain we were and to see if we could be accommodated or not. I gave my specific cross streets at the time of the call which were Southern and Hardy. The person I talked to said «We are running behind so just hurry.» I was thrilled since we wouldn’t have to reschedule yet again.
I was shocked that upon arrival the woman standing at the counter was glaring at me the second I entered the suite. (I kid you not!)
She immediately started our dialogue by asking me if I KNEW my appointment was at four o’clock. I explained that I talked to someone to confirm we should still come in once I realized we’d be late. She started to argue with me and actually brought out the person I talked to who admitted that yes they said what they said to me, but they didn’t realize it would take another ten minutes for me to get there and it was too late because they close early that day.
I was perturbed for 2 reasons: First, don’t tell me to go ahead and come in when you can’t keep my appointment. Had they just said «Sorry we’re booked solid and you’ll need to reschedule» it would have been no big deal. Secondly, Why would you after realizing this had happened be waiting and seething and prepared to scold me when I walk in? Especially considering this person was the manager! Honestly, she was immediately hostile about it. She also was aware of the previous error of theirs which was beyond inconvenient… Why not just be prepared to say «I’m sorry that she didn’t realize we couldn’t take you when you kindly called to let us know you’d be late and were told to come anyways???» I would have once again been irked at the wasted trip but it would have salvaged the faintest desire to follow through with this thing… Instead we were brow beaten for being late to begin with.
I love how I should be understanding when they screw up, but when we have an honest misunderstanding I get chastised and treated like I’m being unreasonable. At this point she didn’t even offer to reschedule, but sharply said «Do you want the number to Groupon or not?»
HA! At this point they don’t want to even try to do business with us anymore! This experience was totally unexpected. I thought there would be shit involved, but not because I’d be treated like it…(LOL)
I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want rude, angry people being the ones shoving a water hose up my ass anyways!!!
