Wiggles and Wags Pet Resort

I have been taking my dogs to Wiggles for 4 ½ years now and I can tell you the service is excellent, the staff is caring and my dogs have always been well taken care of. Howard and Tammy are the owners and they are truly ‘dog people.’ The facility is always clean and the staff has always been courteous, caring and accommodating. The services that I have used are boarding and grooming. My dogs enjoy going there and I never have to worry about the care my dogs receive. If I have a concern, I call and my question/​questions are answered. In reading some of the negative reviews, I wish to comment that I have never smelled urine, I have never been spoken to in a rude manner and my dogs have never come home stressed. They do come home tired but that is from the excitement and/​or play time. Not every person has a pleasant experience, that is true going anywhere but my experiences have all been positive and if they weren’t, I wouldn’t be going for as long as I have. Kudos to Wiggles and Wags.

I’ve never been more impressed with a facility. We generally structure our lives in a way that limits how often we’ve had to board our dog — both because we’d miss him and because you can never be sure they’ll be as loved somewhere else as they are at home — but I want our dog going to daycare here! I have the option to bring him to work with me, but I’d so much prefer he have fun at camp. It’s also the cleanest, friendliest, and most knowledgable staff I’ve encountered.
I checked out other options all over Phoenix, but this is the only place I’d be 100% comfortable leaving him.

I was able to take a tour with I believe was one of the owners before I dropped my dog off with them. The gentleman was very friendly and seemed to answer all my questions. First impression was good and I really was happy with the positive reviews online. The kennels, or as they call them, «suites» are quite packed in and I was explained that the a/​c was set at a constant 80 degrees. That turned me off a bit but with the hard floors, I thought things would be ok. I keep my house at 80 for a few hours with fans on and its comfortable.
When I dropped her off, I was greeted by a young man with glasses in the office. I asked any last minute questions I had and he asked me a couple. He then said I’ll call the handlers to meet you. Two hispanic ladies came over to me and were very quiet and a little standoffish. My dog is a lab mix and can be hyperactive, but not mean towards people. Both of the ladies were giving me a look that seemed like they were uncomfortable which made me uncomfortable. They grabbed my things (blankets, food, treats and toys) and led me to the kennels. Of course the other dogs went nuts as we walked through but they were all attacking the glass on their kennel doors. I Only saw 2 other dogs that were calm. Once we got to my dog’s «suite» one handler was behind me, the other in front of me and just kind of pointed at the open kennel. So I walked in there and the two ladies quietly asked me if they want me to set up the blankets or should they. I had to ask them to repeat themselves several times because it was so loud in there. After I set up the blankets, the one handler traded places with me. I stood outside and her inside the kennel. She said, «ok thank you», and I stood there like… shall I leave? Let myself out? I asked her if she needed anything else and she said no. I turned at the other handler who hadn’t said a word to me and I asked, «do i have to go back to the office or just leave?» «You can go, you’re set» was the response I got. So I walked myself out with no confirmation/​acknowledgement from the facility that they received me dog.
Today I picked up my dog from a 4-​day stay. The same young man with glasses was in the office and I was eager to hear about my dog’s stay. I asked if she behaved, or made a friend or did she not get along with any other dogs??? He told me, she didn’t play with any other dog, just had playtime with the handlers. We were expecting to hear more about her stay but nothing else. He called the handlers to let them know to get my dog ready. A minute later he said we could go in the kennel room and get her. Again, without being escorted, we walked into the kennel area that smelled like urine and musk and was a little warm. We saw the same hispanic handler that I saw when I dropped my dog off, in the «suite» with my dog, frantically putting our things in the bags I brought them in. She didn’t say much of anything to us and just nonverbally communicated with us. There was a water dish in her «suite» that was empty and as we were leaving, my dog pulled on the leash harder than she ever had, trying to race to the door. The handler stayed back and we let ourselves out again.
When we got back home, my dog raced to her water bowl, and has been sleeping deeply on and off for 4 hours now. She sheds more when she’s nervous and the amount of hair that is coming off of her is insane! When feeding her dinner tonight, she ate slower than she ever has and I was concerned that something was wrong with her but I just appears that she is just that plain exhausted. I took her blankets and toys out of the bag and they smelled like that urine smell from the facility.
This is my conclusion and suggestions to the owners. I have taken my dog to boarding facilities before and she has not come back this weak and exhausted. That’s not just the heat or the playtime. That’s lack of sleep. How can my dog sleep if she’s crammed next to and in front of other dogs in an 80 degree room, without fans or circulation, and after being outside in 110 degree weather? Your handlers do not seem to have a thoughtful and caring personality, just appear to be ‘doing their job’. I shouldn’t be left on my own to enter or leave your kennel areas that are in another suite than your office. Your kennels are apparently under surveillance yet the doors are not locked during business hours by any means and any person could walk off the street and right into where my dog is being held. You’re security should be more proactive, not reactive. That fact that your office didn’t seem to have many questions for me to learn about my dog and her behavior and nothing to expand on during pickup, gives the impression that you don’t care how much these animals mean to their owners. I’m just glad I left a measuring cup with her food clearly marked with a fill line and how often to feed. I will not be returning to your facility.
UPDATE: Shortly after eating dinner, I discovered my dog threw up outside. Still lethargic.

Just moved here from Texas and was looking for a nice day care for my dog. The one she went to in Texas was HUGE… huge out door area, covered area, nice large kennels for nap time. After our tour I was rather disappointed. The «play» area is honestly a joke. It’s smaller than a patio back yard. Maybe if my dog was 5lbs, great. but she’s not. Not worth the money. On another side note, they at least seemed clean with their kennels, that’s why I gave two stars instead of one.

Howard and team treat my dogs as their own. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with Wiggles and Wags. It’s hard enough to leave my doggies but Wiggles and Wags make it easier. I can’t thank them enough!

I don’t think most pet owners exactly *like* having to board their dogs, but it’s nice to know that there is a competent, clean, friendly place to leave them while you’re away.
I worked at a pet hospital for many many years before moving to Arizona. I had never left my dogs anywhere «unfamiliar» until now. I have to admit, I was a little worried about leaving them. I think I’m the one with separation anxiety, not them!
I’ve now boarded them at Wiggles and Wags twice. When I first called to get information, I spoke with Howard (I believe that’s his name) and he was so thorough and gave me all the information I asked for and invited me to come in for a tour. I went in for a tour and was surprised at how clean and calm the place was. I would imagine a place that housed so many dogs would be smelly and loud, but it was neither. Also, every time I have come in, no matter the day or time of day, the place is clean. It’s obvious that they’re diligent in their cleanliness.
The thing I like most is that the people here really seem to ENJOY their job and actually love the dogs. I also appreciate that they determine each dogs temperament and place them in play groups with similar dogs. I have one wild child and one old man and I felt comfortable knowing that they would each have care personalized to their individual needs.
I’ll also note that when I brought them here the second time, they both seemed excited to be there. They almost knocked Howard over when they saw him! This definitely made me feel good and ease my nerves about leaving them again.
They have also been able to accommodate me last minute (thank goodness!) which I appreciate. I’ll definitely continue to use their services and would recommend them to anyone looking to board their pets!

I called and made a reservation for day boarding, and they were wonderful taking the time during the phone call, not rushing, and making me feel like a valued customer. They also invited me to come visit the place ahead of time to check them out and feel comfortable if I wanted to. $ 20 for the day!.. great price! Then I had to call to extend the reservation overnight. I left a voicemail. They called me back right away to confirm the change and price ($ 40 for 2 days and 1 night!). My best friend ended up offering to watch our dog for free, so we ended up cancelling the reservation to save money (we’re moving), and when I left a message to cancel, again they called me back right away! I got a lovely voicemail message that was clear and friendly, confirming the cancellation and welcoming me back next time. I almost wanted to spend the $ 40 just because they were so friendly. It was definitely noticed and appreciated! Will be calling them next time, for sure!

Love Wiggles & Wags! The staff is wonderful. The facility is clean. My husky Chloi always has a great time and I have her get groomed there as well. Very reasonable prices.

We use Wiggles and Wags for our 3 Spaniels for boarding, grooming and training and would go no where else. They truly care for your dogs. Owners Tammy and Howard do whatever they can to accommodate and their staff is just as caring. Our dogs are older and some require medication which I can be assured will be administered.
Thank you for giving us peace of mind when taking care of our pets.

Front desk and groomers had terrible customer service skills. I was concerned about leaving my dog at the resort after the unwelcoming experience, however I had an urgent trip to make that day. I wonder about the condition in which my dog was kept for a week. He returned home with fleas and bad breath. He never had this problem before. I won’t leave him at this resort ever again.

I brought my dog who is a pit bull mix here to be told she would not be allowed to play other dogs, only staff. Granted, after looking at their website more it does say bully breeds won’t have play time with other dogs. It says this right after saying:
«all personalities are perfectly matched. Play groups are kept small and matched based on multiple levels of compatibility (age, size, personality, play style, energy level, etc).»
I find this contradicting because they spent no time getting to know her personality or energy level to even judge her based on her breed. If they took that time they would have seen she if the sweetest most gentle dog. They do not match based on these things. It’s people who train pits to be mean and places, like this, that judge and discriminate pits that give pits a bad name. Not the actual breed. Shame on them for judging and falling into that category.

We have taken our mini schnauzer to kennels occasionally and we hate it because she comes home all stressed out! Not today. We picked her up after she had spent the day in doggie day care and she was calm and happy. Thank you for taking care of our fur baby so we could have a day of dog-​free activities!

Today marks the day I end my business with Wiggles and Wags. I’ve never been pleased and the last two times they weren’t able to meet my request and with the conversation I had with Tammy just sealed the deal.
In the past they’ve always cut my dogs hair too short which I understand were grooming issues on my end with her hair getting matted.
I’ve started taking better care of my dogs hair to have it longer. I gave my dog to them on two occasion where I requested I would the length of her hair be the same throughout her head AND body. The last two times they failed. In result I get a dog with a small head and larger body making her seem awkward and disproportionate and people bring it up all the time. It’s already bad enough that she’s a fluffball.
To prevent it from happening again I called them to make sure I can do everything I can to make sure I get the haircut I desire. And Tammy is ultimately telling me to look for another groomer. She didn’t offer any tips, suggestions. She tried saying I didn’t know what I’m speaking of basically.
But how hard is it to understand a customers request such as cutting it equally all around. That’s all I asked for but it was too much. I attempted to get Tammy to reassure me if they can simply cut my dogs hair and she was pretty much refusing to provide me service; only telling me to look elsewhere.
But what’s really striking me the most is that this company fails to take ownership. If you read throughout the negative reviews you can see that they do their best to turn what ever issues they had on the consumer or address the issue as if it’s nothing to make it sound better.
(Read a review where a dog stayed and had scat on it, they admitted to it, but attempted to make it better by claiming it was a small piece… Really? It’s sh*t on a dog regardless)

Our boy Logan had his first boarding experience here and things went well! He seemed happy and healthy when we picked him up and we were so impressed with the staff and how clean and bright the facility is. They were very accommodating to his medication and special feeding instructions and our anxious new parent calls. Thank you guys for taking such good care of our baby.

This is my first checking in via Unilocal,but we’ve taken our pets here for grooming many times already. This place always did a wonderful job grooming my babies. They always come home looking and smelling nice. Their nails are properly trimmed. I never have any issue with them or saw any cuts on their bodies like other places do. I highly recommend this place to any pet lovers.

Definitely the best place I have been to this far from grooming. My dog is an Australian cattle dog mix and she sheds so much. They shaved her down so nicely and now she is much cooler. Thank you so much for the wonderful groom on Emma, I will be back for sure!

I took my tiny maltese Lilly here for daycare and was so happy with this place! We wanted to try this place out before we actually boarded her here for an upcoming vacation. The staff was nothing short of amazing and made Lillys first day at doggy day care a great experience. Knowing my dog… I knew she had a great time just from how she was acting when I picked her up. One happy girl. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to board their dog or even try the doggy daycare.

The best place to bring your pet for a grooming. Oksana is the best !! She’s so nice and knows exactly what cut will make your pet look the best. I love the customer service here. Everyone is so warm and welcome.

Awful customer service. Made appointment for a first time groom for my pet. An hour before the appointment, I discovered I did not have a hard copy of his vaccines. I called FIVE times in 50 minutes to get the fax number. No answer. I went in and there was no one at the front desk. Phone ringing off the hook with no one even acknowledging it. Man outside in the breezeway and woman sitting at a desk like she didn’t even hear it. To top it all off, they didn’t have my pet on the schedule. Super unimpressed. Go somewhere with adequate staff.
I made an appointment over a week before and have record of the call. The owners are always very defensive and passive aggressive on Unilocal after a poor review. Another reason to not go here.

I’ve used basically every service Wiggles and Wags provides and each time my pups and I have been fully satisfied! In daycare, my dogs are treated just like a member of the Wiggles and Wags family, and they run eagerly to the door to meet all the handlers. Coming from shelters and rescues, both my dogs had separation anxiety and were very cautious around people, but daycare has really helped them «come out of their shells.» Boarding is also great, just like an extension of their daycare, except on more of an overnight basis!
My little papillon had a personal behavior session with Tammy when we first adopted her due to some aggression issues she had. Tammy’s advice worked perfectly. I also enrolled her in Tammy’s Canine Good Citizen class, in which she passed with flying colors.
I’ve also used their grooming services. After each session, my dog comes out looking beautiful and pampered.
Due to the depth and variety of services they offer, and the great care and pride Tammy and Howard place in their business, I highly recommend them!
